She's always returned in good spirits and full of love and cookies. The staff is friendly and fast too especially with our short hair who gets a discount because she's not as involved as some of the longer hairs. I've taken my furry child here a few times for a nail trim, and it's been quick and easy each time. Probably even in and out within 10mins or less. They are super nice in there, and the dogs they have in there are always super mellowed out. I've never gone in and seen any dogs freaking out or barking, so that's a good sign! Needless to say, our dog Maggie came home with one of the best haircuts she has ever had and she wasn't even mad at us for leaving her at the groomer all day (which she usually is). This was the first visit for me and my pup Luna. We called the day prior and we were able to get in the very next day with an appointment, normally it's a two day notice. I was relieved as Luna was in need of a good grooming. We were referred by mother who is friends with the owner so trust was already established. However, we had never visited for services. I was about five minutes early. There is private parking labeled for "grooming services only" which was convienent and located steps away from the entrance. Otherwise street parking is available however it is a busy street so be prepared for that just incase all spots are taken. We were greeted with a friendly smile and we quickly were signed in and groomer upfront immediately took Luna off my hands. She was professional and to the point of business nothing more nothing less. I wasnt prepared with the information regarding shots etc that is required in order to be seen. I just brought Lunas health portfolio with me. The groomer was patient and helped me find the information on the forms. So that was easy. The owner heard my name and welcomed me as she realized our mutual connection. The customer service was friendly and welcoming. Seems like there business is very successful as they had a full house. Operations seemed normal non stressed and surprisingly not loud with barking at the time and everyone was extremely focused. I was told she would be ready in "awhile" and my phone number was confirmed so that I could be called when she was ready. I tend to keep my schedule free when it's her spa day I'm always prepared for the wait to be an hour or two for her services. I don't expect a short turn around. Her service was just about an hour and ten minutes. I arrived at the parlor and again greeted promptly and was assisted in check out. My total was reasonable for her breed and weight, I was pleased. I was told she was a good girl and that she was welcomed back anytime. I asked for advice as she tends to have a strong body odor I was given good advice and will be coming back in three to four weeks. Thanks again Dawna! read more

We have 2 Shih Tzus and we took them today for the first time. The one has only one eye and both have skin allergies and ear infections so are pretty sensitive. They did an amazing job. I found Dawna's on yelp while on vacation in Pismo Beach and I loved them all so much I wish I lived here (okay, I actually wish I lived here anyway, but they are another good reason :-). I wanted to get my Great Pyrenees "CJ" paws cleaned up so we wouldn't drag in as much "stuff" into our motel room, so after reading reviews I called Dawna's and she was able to get me in within the next hour or so. Came into shop to find all of these fabulously happy, friendly people working there (and Dawna) that radiated joy and animal love! I waited while they swept him up in a storm of love, efficient and amazing clipping and trimming (I went ahead and asked if they could just trim up his wild leg hairs and they just trimmed him up all over to a complete beauty! It was the best trim I have EVER had on him and all the while enjoying chatting and watching them work. It was SO obvious that they sincerely loved their work and CJ that they simply had me in a fabulous, glowing mood for hours. Any of us who adore our dogs as though they were our own flesh and blood should understand how having an experience like I had at Dawna's will totally make your day. Dawna, bless you and your staff! The staff was so friendly and I was very satisfied when I came to pick up Louie. Dawna was even giving Louie some love before handing him back to me and that just made my heart smile.
