I contracted Day Elevator & Lift and made an advance payment for an annual periodic and category 1 test. Despite receiving the payment, they failed to file the periodic test, which led to a $3,000 fine for the property. After attempting to address the issue with Day Elevator, it took four months for them to respond. They sent a letter stating they would not take responsibility for the fine due to their negligence, nor would they refund the payment for the service. While I understand that mistakes can happen, Day Elevator should have taken accountability since it was their failure to file the test as agreed upon in the contract. Same thing happen to me Vikas D and Helen G ! In my case, it has cost me 15000 for their mistake! Currently my money is being held in escrow until this company resolves all the outstanding permits that they said they would resolve as it was admitted that it was their fault. I have emailed about 10 times in the past year and when I call no one picks up or the one person that seems to care can't help me at all. I'd give Day Elevator zero stars if I could. As a quadriplegic who can't get up and down the stairs in my home without assistance, my experience with them was an absolutely miserable one. I hired them to install an inclined platform lift in my house and paid over $30,000 for a product that didn't work properly from day one. The "safety" bars on this thing malfunctioned on regular basis, and actually turned out to be more of a hazard than anything else. I got stuck on the lift mid ride so many times that I literally lost count, and despite numerous service calls, the problems kept on coming. I was beyond frustrated by the fact that I'd had so many issues to begin with and by the company's inattentiveness and inability to resolve them. I'm honestly not sure if the lift itself is a POS machine, Day did a shit job of installing it or both. I'm not exaggerating when I say that giving them my business was one of the worst decisions I ever made, and if I could go back in time to undo it, I would. For anyone who's disabled and considering working with them, don't make the same mistake I did; do your due diligence and go elsewhere. read more

Would highly recommend staying away from this company. We used them last year for an elevator inspection. They misinterpreted the NYC rule changes last year and we were fined $3000. Darlene over there sent an email stating it was their fault, and that Day would take responsibility to fix. She has been unresponsive over the last month and we're trying to escalate to management. read more

Service doesn't show up when your elevator breaks down! I am in a wheelchair and had a Day elevator installed less than 6 months ago and paid for their service plan. I was in the elevator three times in two weeks and the elevator stopped suddenly between floors. I called customer service and they said they'd send a repairman in 5 days while I was literally alone in the elevator. They will never send someone the same day, and their 'emergency service' is a call center that tells you someone will call back within one hour and they never have. Extremely unprofessional. This place is the worse. First, they came in over a year late on a lift project in my building. Now fast forward with lift finally passes inspection and it has broken down twice. Each time when a service call is placed they can't come out unless it's after hours to charge you overtime. Now with the lift down again they do not want to honor the warranty. No one calls you back nor do they answer your emails. read more
