Do you want a weekend in the Caribbean but can't take the time off from work and don't have the extra $$$? Then get online and book an appointment for something fabulous at Day Spa by Zsuzsanna. When you walk in the door, you're greeted with all sorts of wonderful items for every price point. Need fancy flip-flops for your next vacation? They've got it. Want a cute and cool blanket and hat to wear on chilly days to warm yourself up? Yup, they've got those too. There's an entire wall of all sorts of organic skincare that smells amazing. After checking in, I sat in a delightful little reception area to relax and wait for my appointment. I was greeted tonight by a smiling Tina, (which at 6 PM on Wednesday evening in my opinion is something that's hard to come by). She took me past the soothing blue hallways upstairs where the spa smells immediately started relaxing my senses. I went into a treatment room and got a Facial Plus, which included a wonderful cleansing and relaxing facial, with attention paid to my hands feet and décolletage. After being rubbed and massage with all sorts of wonderful creams and elixirs, I left there an hour and 20 minutes later positively glowing, (seriously someone stopped and told me I was glowing). The spa has an array of items for sale, but there's no strong sale to push you to buy something, which in my opinion actually works in reverse. I wanted to buy things because they weren't pressuring me to buy anything. It was getting late and the spa was closing, so I made my next appointment online instead of doing with the receptionist. Zsuzsanna the owner was there, and not only is she nice and kind, she's gorgeous as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. I just wish I could go every day. This is an update review of Day Spa by Zsuzsanna because dear Mae has passed away so I now go to Gloria for my facials. She is wonderful. The spa has been refurbished with a store downstairs and a modern upstairs just for privacy and services. It's a luxurious experience to be in Gloria's care. Staff Cindy and Deborah are welcoming and lovely. Ladies, do it for yourself, you'll feel and look like a princess. Treat your favorite guy or gal and they will love you for it. read more

Now that I'm at the advanced old age of 30-something, I try to have regular facials. I was seeing someone I loved in the Boston area, but relocated to the Main Line and was in need of my fix. My first facial here was great - Zsuzsanna was thorough and my skin looked bomb. (Note: These results came at a price. Hella expensive, guys.) But while my purse was lighter, my face was undeniably brighter, so I thought maybe I'd try one of the less pricey facialists (is that a word? it is now...) for round two. The next time I saw them was a week before my sister's wedding, so of course I was breaking out like a pubescent boy. This is where DSbZ gets docked a couple stars. The facialist I saw (not Zsuzsanna) spent more time massaging me and trying to sell me product than doing extractions. Worse, thanks to my vulnerable breaking-out-before-a-wedding state, I ended up buying something called "TCA Moisture Peel" (again: hella expensive) which (a) did absolutely nothing and (b) went bad - like, rotten fish bad - after about two months. If you want to pay for a relaxing spa experience, go here. But for the love of god, don't buy the product they push on you. read more

This spa is absolutely one of the best in the area. I'm incredibly sensitive and also very particular when it comes to my face. I want someone careful who isn't going to put me in pain, but also not scared to dig all the stuff out of my pores. Many spas in the area put various masks and creams on your face and send you on your way. Zsuzsannas spa has very talented and skilled aestheticians. Her and Gloria are by far the best in the area. I don't go anywhere else and only recommend this spa. read more

I've been here a few times and recently had an appointment for microdermabrasion (my first time with this spa). Well, I ended up being there for near 2 hours as the technician performed additional services which I didn't ask for and didn't know weren't part of the microdermabrasion service. When I checked out my bill was substantial. Overall I felt taken advantage of as she didn't explain this wasn't the "normal" service. In addition she attempted to have me buy their products, which I kindly said no to. If you go here, just be very clear about pricing, etc., before your service. read more

I want to start out by saying that my massage was fine - by no means the worst I've ever had - but I likely won't go back for a few reasons. 1) Their technique for a Swedish Massage was not what I'm used to. Rather than a fluid, slow, soothing experience with good pressure, my therapist moved VERY quickly, so fast that I felt I didn't have time to absorb the experience before she moved on to a different area. I also felt more prodded rather than kneaded. My therapist also didn't use any bolster pillows at all under my ankles or knees and I noticed their absence compared to past massages I have received. 2) I'm 30 and wouldn't consider myself especially shy, but I was a little taken aback by the lack of attention shown to keeping me covered up. We started with me face down, and my therapist walked in the room and threw back the covers so that a good 3/4 of my rear was exposed. In addition, when she worked on my legs, I expected that she would tuck the blankets to keep me covered up down below, but this was not done so I felt a little uncomfortable. Same when I was turned to lay on my back. My chest was barely covered and the same inattention was shown to covering me up when working on my legs. 3) My therapist tried to sell me on facials during my session. I was there to relax, and the last thing I wanted to do was fend off a salesperson. After I just stopped responding, she eventually dropped the subject, but it took me a while to get over the annoyance which of course impacted the relaxation I was hoping to achieve when I booked the massage in the first place. Bottom line, if a friend told me they were going to Day Spa by Zsuzsanna, I wouldn't tell them not to go, but I would definitely warn them about my experience. read more

I've been to Zsuzsanna's twice in the last 2 months for the same services (foot/leg massage and Indian Scalp massage) and both were wonderful. I felt relaxed and the person performing the massages (who is not a massage therapist but rather a esthetician) was very accommodating and pleasant. The staff is very friendly and made me feel comfortable from beginning to end. I have recommended this spa to others on Facebook and now on here. I brought my husband this visit and plan to bring my best friend next visit. Like Elaine, I was offered the facials by the person working on me, but I did not feel that she was being aggressive. She simply recommended it for the benefits of it and I told her I would maybe try it and it was left at that. read more
