We were taking a break from home, overwhelming and busy Miami Beach and three friends traveled up to St. Augustine and came back via St. Pete/Sarasota. We searched for a breakfast place and found this gem, service was excellent by our server Yanni as well as everyone else in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the Bloody Mary's (you get 2 for 1, great deal!) maybe the best one I ever had, just right and well balance with a yummy piece of Bacon! We sat at the door for at least 5-10 minutes without being greeted. Once we did get noticed they did apologize and explained they were all using one PoS station. The food was ok. Service was ok after that. Even with one PoS station the man that was using the station did not look at us or make eye contact when he could have. This was our first and last visit there. read more

Delicious food. Our server Kostas was very attentive and wanted us to have the best experience. My husband got the blackened flounder and I got a huge salad with grilled chicken on it. They may not have all you can eat shrimp anymore (Tarpon Bar & Grill), but they do have delicious souvlaki, mash potatoes and corn! The menu here is geared towards breakfast and lunch, and mostly consists of dished with eggs. There are a few sandwiches, but nothing fancy. I zeroed in on the souvlaki because in a sucker for marinated chicken and tzatziki sauce served in a warm pita. So glad too because it was great. It came with lumpy garlic mashed potatoes and corn, and that was more exciting than rice which seems to be the common side for souvlaki. Not sure what kind of corn the use, but it reminded me of shoepeg. The plate was garnished with juicy strawberries and a grilled pineapple slice. I really enjoyed it. Staff was uber friendly. My only suggestion, they need a sign out front. The little "open" flags aren't gonna cut it. read more

I ordered the flaming breakfast with an extra egg, scrambled, no potatoes, add spinach and mushrooms. The waitress said she would substitute the egg for the potatoes, then she charged me $1.40, Then there was a $1 charge for spinach and there is maybe to small leaves shredded, and $1 for mushrooms and there was maybe 4 tiny slices, plus bacon had 1 piece broken up. So I had to pay $3.50 to add bacon to it. Then my total came to $21. This had goat cheese and was supposed to be a $12.99 breakfast. It was pretty to see the Flambé part of it, but It didn't taste that good. I definitely won't order it again. This evening my wife and I went to DayBreak at roughly 7:00 pm . Upon entering we saw the "Senior Special" of stuffed cabbage for $8.99. We asked our waitress what other specials they had, but we chose the stuffed cabbage. WHEN OUR CHECK CAME THEY CHARGED US $16.99 EACH. We complained to the owner/manager and were told that the "Senior Special" ends at 5:00pm. This information was NOT on the sign and the sign was up at the time we entered. We were told that "Everybody knows that the Senior Special ends at 5:00pm." It was NOT noted as an "Early Bird Special", it was posted as a "Senior Special". We paid after complaining and will NOT be going back. We suggest you avoid this place. read more

Will not be back. Husband and I figured we'd give it a try because we couldn't decide where we wanted to go. The cleanliness should've been our first clue. It was 9:30am and there were fries all over the floor when you first walked in. There were pieces of bacon on the booth that they sat us at. I asked for a cranberry juice mimosa and they brought me just cranberry juice- didn't bring an actual mimosa until I was done with the meal. After we ordered we didn't see our waitress again until they brought the fixed mimosa. The food was lukewarm at best. Had breakfast here Sunday morning. Seated right away and immediately greeted by our waitress Brianna. She has to be one of the best wait staff I have ever encountered. Used to enjoy this place with a friend of mine, however, we both ordered our food through Uber Eats which supposedly was ready for pick up. I went there to pick it up and my friend added two links to her order of a waffle. The orders weren't ready when I got there like Uber said they were, and I ended up waiting over 25 minutes, and while it was near closing, they weren't busy or anything. I got a grilled chicken breast salad and it wasn't terrible but the chicken didn't have much flavor and the portion size wasn't too great. We live in Holiday, and have been coming to the The Daybreak Cafe for years. It is under new ownership, Ari was very hands on with his guests. And, even jumped in and bussed a table, while we were there. The food at the Daybreak is delicious. Breakfast is served all day. So, an out of town er like myself, getting there at 11:30 am for breakfast was no problem. Staff was friendly, and restaurant was very clean. Best and biggest omelette I've ever had is served here, as well as the best biscuits and gravy! Very clean, service is fast and friendly, the menu is fairly large and eight dollars will put more food on your plate than you can eat unless you're very hungry! ALSO, everything is made from scratch. The only thing I would change are the hours of operation. Currently, they are open from 6am to 3pm, a shame because I'm certain that dinner there would be just as great as breakfast and lunch and would give us locals a nice place to go besides the same old places with the same old food we are so used to. This is truly a standout establishment and a must-stop for anyone who loves breakfast! I haven't had lunch there yet, but will soon for sure. read more

Service and food is hit or miss. I've been here many time and the first few times were great. The last 2 times not good at all. One of the times the food was not very good - the eggs were more like easy not medium (I don't like the whites to be liquidy), but the service was OK. The last time not only was the food terrible, the service was lousy. We ordered a waffle and a skillet breakfast. It took forever to get our food. When it came the skillet potatoes were WAY overdone, almost burnt. The waffle was ice cold. We told the waitress about the waffle. She took it away and came back like 3 minutes later. It was the same waffle on the same plate - it was just microwaved. Ever eaten a microwaved waffle? No good. He said he wasn't going to eat the waffle and the girl ust looked at us - we told her we wanted the check. We got the check with all the charges on it, including the waffle. We checked out and told the cashier, who I think is also an owner, about the waffle. We told her that waffles shouldn't be microwaved - a new one should have been made. She immediately blamed it on the waitress saying the waitress must have let the waffle sit too long. Well hell I'm sure she had to wait for the cook the burn my breakfast. We were so disappointed in both the food and, in particular, the management. Even if it was a waitresses fault you don't say that to a customer. They should have apologized for meal at the very least, not blame it on another employee. Personally, I think they should have removed the cost of the waffle as well.
