We visited on Fish Tuesdays, which is a great time to visit. Their fish is lightly breaded (awesome) and fresh and flaky. Like some people I know. The potato petals (hard to call them fries as they're a cut above anything I've ever seen in potatoe form) were hot and tasty. Like one person I know. And their coleslaw had just the right amount of tanginess to it, and was a perfect compliment to our meal. We sat at the bar and had excellent service from Lisa...she made our visit even better by being congenial, friendly and efficient. Def a must visit when in Tarpon Springs. Visited this location for lunch while on a girl's trip vacation. Really cute restaurant with outdoor seating and sidewalk seating. There is also inside seating with a nice bar, but the weather was perfect for outdoor dining during our visit. I and one of my friends got the smash burger with twisted fries. The burger was good, but could use more seasoning. The fries were AWESOME and had a crunchy texture. My other friend got the flat bread with grilled chicken and balsamic dressing and it was sooooo good! One other got a gyro with fries and bragged about how delicious it was. Service was kind of slow, but they were really busy. One older waitress appeared to be somewhat nasty to our waitress which is why we think she got distracted. I'd recommend this location and would definitely go again if I were to ever visit the area again. read more

Popped in here on a Thursday evening based on Yelp reviews and the fact that they have buffalo cauliflower - one of my favorite things, especially when it's served in a skillet. And it was worth the trip over. The cauliflower was crispy and spicy and comes with a great homemade ranch. The menu is a little British, a little Greek, a little Asian, a little Mexican and a little American. So you'll definitely find something for everyone here. I decided on the sweet chili wings. The sauce on them was perfect. Sweet but with a little heat - it comes with ten wings which is a great portion for the price. Perfectly crispy. Was able to try the kettle chips and twister fries from others in the table and both were great as well. I really enjoy the food, ambiance, and service here at the Tarpon Taproom. We have been going here consistently for the past few weeks and each time our food has been great. We usually get the Dang Dang shrimp. I wish the portion were larger for the price- but that's the economy for you. They are so "dang" good though. We have tried a variety of things and they have all been good. From the burgers, the bowls, the wings and the Greek "taco," we would order them all again- and we do. The service is always quick and friendly. The servers seem to enjoy their jobs here and it shows. We have only tried the beer here so I do not know how the mixed drinks are but the bar is usually full to partially full on Saturday afternoons. We will continue coming here as we thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and the food. I feel we get a good meal for the money and try at is important nowadays! Recommend you give it a go if you are in the area. We like to make a day of it and hang out in downtown Tarpon and shop and go to the Replay Museum/Arcade and play all the retro arcade games. When my local friends told me about the fish and chips deal, I was thinking, how good can that be? and imagined something like Long John Silver's. Boy, was I wrong! They do use good fish, and a big plank of it! The batter is delicious, and if you are gluten free or don't like fried food, you can get it grilled!! They also have a great selection of local, domestic and import beers. You can even get a flight if you like. Their regular menu have a good variety of other dishes too - everything from quesadilla and tacos, to burgers and wings, to salad and rice bowls. Pretty easy to find something for everybody, and large groups don't faze them, the friendly and efficient waitstaff gets you all taken care of fine. Food was awesome.... I'm single and always sit at the bar. The bartender ... blonde girl ( I can say that because I'm one of those blonde girls) not real impressed . Her first name started with an "M". She asked what I wanted to drink I said Im not sure but may I have a menu.... Im going to eat. Took 10 minutes ( I timed it) to get a menu. She was berating some of the younger servers. Anyway ..., enough of my whining! Onto the important things......the food was so good. I had dang dang Shrimp, it was the best Ive had! Wonderful casual restaurant in Downtown Tarpon Springs. It look led like an European Pub from the outside, but serves a nice array of dishes. Food - I had the Smash Burger which was amazing. It was as good as mine and mine are incredible . My husband had the the Greek Taco and he enjoyed it very much! We both had the twisty fries as the side item. My husband loved them. I wanted to, but I prefer hand cut original fries(I did eat them however) Ambiance - very nice atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating. Even the restrooms were clean and tidy. Service - our server was fast efficient and very attentive. The only thing we wish he had done was tell us about the special which was the Fish and Chips that were half off. This restaurant is conveniently located around a bunch of other restaurants, bars and a brewery in Tarpon Springs, Florida. We knew the restaurant didn't take reservations so got there a little early hoping to put our names in for a table outside. We were hoping it was a text based reservation system so we could pop over to the nearby brewery to wait but alas, just a shout your name kind of place. We were told the wait would be about 25 minutes, but 45 minutes later our table still wasn't ready. We were told it would still be a "long time yet" for a table outside so we ended up switching to inside. We were bummed because the big, well lit patio was part of the reason we picked this spot! Our table of 6 was provided 2 menus and it took awhile for our server to come over and grab our drink order. Service in general was pretty slow. They may have been short staffed as it seemed like our server had a ton of tables. Service wasn't super friendly either, again, I think the busy-ness played into that as well. There was an issue with one of our appetizers that our server caught before she even dropped it off and already had another complimentary one on the way which was really thoughtful! Food is traditional pub fare so easy for a group with different tastes. They do offer a "beyond burger" which the vegetarians and vegans in our group appreciated. We will 100% be ordering these again on my next visit! For my main course, I ordered the Pub Burger, with house made kettle chips. The burger was cooked to my preference (med rare), and was spot on. I ate this burger without ketchup, as it was plenty moist from the meat, cheese, and vegetables. If you're hungry and nothing else looks good, order this. You won't be disappointed in this Pub staple. The chips were light and crispy, and bland, almost like an afterthought. A dash of salt perked these right up, and were a joy to eat. The atmosphere is louder than I would prefer, personally, but I was able to clearly hear everyone at my table. The service was great, in my opinion. They were helpful and friendly. I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share our experience at Tarpon Tavern this past Sunday. We stopped in on a whim and, although brunch was being served until 2:00 PM, we opted to order from the regular menu. The restaurant wasn't busy--just one other table inside--and there seemed to be no shortage of staff. That made it surprising how long it took to be greeted, receive menus, and place our orders. We even considered leaving due to the delay. Once things got rolling, service was decent and the fries were honestly great. The sandwiches were fair--nothing special--and one in particular went mostly uneaten because it had an off-putting taste that reminded us of hospital food. We also requested a few extra sauces, which we were fine with being charged for, even if it felt a bit much. The biggest issue was the drink pricing. We ordered from the main menu, which clearly listed Sunday specials like $6 mimosas and Bloody Marys. However, we were charged $1 more per drink. When we asked about it, the staff brought both menus and acknowledged the lower pricing we'd seen was from the daily menu, not the brunch menu--even though we hadn't ordered anything from the brunch menu. The waitress was kind and apologized, even saying, "It's not your fault," but the manager's response was disappointing. We were told there was a misprint and that it hasn't been fixed. That was it--no offer to adjust the bill or even stop by to acknowledge the mistake personally. We were left with a shrug and a "sorry, we're not fixing it." I understand that things happen, and I try to be patient and give businesses the benefit of the doubt, but this was a surprising lack of accountability--especially considering how small the issue was to correct. If the roles were reversed and I simply underpaid and said, "sorry," I doubt it would have been accepted so casually. All things considered, I would not go back. read more
