This definitely was a must on our list. We woke up early and headed down to this donut shop between 8-8:15. Recommend getting there early because the line is out the door, even though it moves super quickly. Definitely has a family owned feel to it and lots of tables to sit. People are continuously getting up, so your almost guaranteed a table. You do have to order before you sit down. We got 2 Tom McMuffins and a vanilla sprinkle donut. I'm so sad I didn't take any pictures, because the food was too good to even think of it! The sandwich came with 2 scrambled eggs flattened, then cheese is melted in the middle, as well as 2/3 pieces of bacon. The donut was fresh out of the oven and melted in our mouths! Even the plain black coffee was delicious and I could tell they brew it fresh every hour. The owner remember my name as we left the shop and thanked us for coming in! The place to be for a real Colorado local, not overpriced, breakfast. They have a cheap breakfast for something like $3.00 which is totally worth it. During high peak ski season, you will have to wait 10 minutes or more and fight for a coveted table, there is usually a line out the door. Most people order and take their food and coffee to go. They have pastries and doughnuts which are great! Daylight's menu is basic, just what you want for breakfast; omelets, bacon, sausage, toast, biscuits and gravy, coffee, French toast, the standards. Great local pictures, license plates, maps, just a bunch of crazy stuff from over the years. You could probably put something up on the wall if you wanted if you are visiting. If you are in from out of town visiting, I'd recommend a visit to Daylight. read more

If you are from Texas you will be highly disappointed with the sausage rolls. We ordered them because they hyped up on Tik Tok and Yelp, but when we received them, they were the equivalent of a home made pig in the blanket with a Jimmy Dean sausage inside. If it were not for this age-old treasure in Breckenridge, I likely would have no desire to ever go into town. This is a true throwback to what life in the Colorado mountains once was. The service is great and if you are a true local, you get treated as such. That is very important to those of us who have to compete with millions of tourists each year. The donuts are amazing and head and shoulders above any other Daylight location you will find elsewhere. Breakfast is spot on, reasonable and comes out quickly, even when the line is out the door. Getting there early affords you a more quiet, enjoyable experience, but never confuse any possible hiccup with the store itself. Problems only arise when people choose to be rude, loud, selfish or otherwise, which sadly is more commonplace than not as Summit County hemorrhages with crowds of tourists who only want to ski, drink and smoke pot. Enjoy this cafe, respect the locals and give a hearty 'thank you' to the ownership and staff. Most have been there for years and that is true testament to how well it is run. We have been camping and were looking for a great mom and pop breakfast shop. THIS is it. The green chili sauce on the egg burrito, the biscuits and gravy and the freaking donuts. So. Stinking. Good. And you have to get the apple crisp donut/long john... freshly made, apple pie filling and rolled in cinnamon and sugar.. get it, you won't be disappointed. The wait was a little longer at 1030 on a Thursday but there was a line. Obviously a good sign if there are so many people! Took our food 20-30 minutes to arrive but the wait was totally worth it! The waffle is so good! I wished I wasn't so excited about ordering that I forgot ti ask for thr pumpkin spiced one. It is a bit crumbly & tasted amazing with the honey. Bacon is bacon.. I wanted some protein - Yes, kind of a wierd combo. The omelette was massive & it was delicious!! It has a buttery taste & chunks of meat. It came with some toast & hash brown (not the squares but the shaved type). Yep, I was eating my waffles & my utensils wandered across the table to eat off the amazing dish across me! I can't say enough amazing things about this place. It is a MUST if you're in Breckenridge! We got half a dozen donuts - apple, maple, buttermilk, blueberry, vanilla sprinkles and a cinnamon twist... all were absolutely amazing. So fluffy. So good. We also ordered breakfast. We split the Daylight special - 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, and the thickest pancake I had ever seen and we also had biscuits and gravy. This place has a cute interior and has a homey feel in the middle of a ski town. It's a must! Be prepared to wait in line for a while, but moves quick. Both times we have come to Breckenridge we have eaten here for breakfast each morning. It's seriously that good. The atmosphere is great and the gentleman that was there in July 2020 and 2021 is fantastic. Super friendly and helpful. The home style or baked cinnamon rolls are so good we always get an extra for the road. The hot breakfast options are also delicious. I loved the donuts here. Visiting from DC, which only has a few good donut spots, I was super psyched when someone recommended this spot. I had the blueberry cake donut (the best) and a chocolate sprinkled raised (pretty standard) on my first morning there. Then I couldn't help but go back for a second time the next morning... I'm giving this review based on service as we actually didn't get donuts because we came in late. Coming in from out of town and it was nice to sleep in a bit, we realized we were hitting the shop late. But when we got there, the staff wasn't welcoming at all, saying "if you're not first, you're last." Honestly, if we got there late and there were no donuts, that's on us. But there's no need for unkind comments. I agree with some of the other comments about the staff not really wanting to deal with people. Too bad. read more

Family and I went in for a late breakfast today and really had a great meal. Their pancake is huge and very good. My husband had the corned beef hash and it was one of the best I've ever tried. Very crispy on one side, but light and fluffy potatoes on the other and full of meat. Their donuts were amazing. I had the apple fritter and loved it. Others at the table had the maple bar, a chocolate cake donut and the raspberry bear claw. All rave reviews. Hope to go back for more donuts to enjoy back in our condo before the trip is over. I've been coming to this donut shop for many years and never left unhappy or unfilled with my donut pleasure. There's nothing like a warm donut after a full day of winter sports in Breckenridge. Conveniently located towards the north end of downtown, this place is hard to pass up. It was, unfortunately, until I recently visited with my wife and friends. Their chocolate cake donut is by far my favorite go to, and it was bone dry. Additionally, I found that the gal at the register was extremely rude to me when when buying some donuts. Not only was she inpatient, she was also unhelpful with the different types of donuts they offer. Sadly, I purchased some donuts, and the experience overall was not good. This is sad because I used to come to this spot with my father for many years, and this experience completely threw me for a loop. I disliked how the shop didn't let us know they didn't accept card until we got to the cash register to check out. I liked the staff, chill and friendly.
