In a resort town where prices reflect the view, we found a solid hack: the portions here are massive. We ordered the big platters and packed half to go for tomorrow's breakfast. I went with a protein-packed "Create Your Own" scramble loaded with chicken, avocado, spinach, tomatoes, onions, and green peppers. I had them smother it in their vegetarian green chili--10/10, no complaints. My son opted for the sausage, egg, and cheese burrito, which was literally as big as his head. They served a hot red salsa on the side that was delicious enough to be shared by everyone. My daughter's pancakes were plate-filling and perfectly fresh. Stopped in while visiting the neighborhood this weekend. Greeted and seated right away, we could see it's a popular place. All the staff here were very friendly! There was lots of places to sit inside and out, and lots of merch to buy for some reason. Ordered a latte and French toast with Nutella and bananas, that came with eggs and bacon. The service is fine, they were nice, the ambiance is just ok, you're next to the road and the road noise from trucks and motorcycles takes away from the vibes. It's just a poor location for outdoor seating. The food is subpar. For my birthday I ordered a mimosa and it came in an ice tea plastic cup with ice ‍. A super dry cinnamon role and biscuits and gravy that missed the sausage. It tasted like buttermilk and water blended together over tall biscuits that lacked any flavor. I was so disappointed. Every time I stay the weekend in Breckenridge, I stop by Blue Moose for breakfast before heading back home! It's actually the only breakfast spot I've tried there but it's just part of our tradition. We always get a cinnamon roll to split while waiting for our meal (not pictured but so so good!) they have a wide variety of foods whether you're looking to eat healthy or indulge. This location has a small parking lot available. There is a small entrance so there isn't a waiting area or a line would build up quickly. There are 2 good sized rooms of tables. The art that decorates the walls is for sale. We went in early so were able to get a table quickly. The service was friendly. Great personality and very attentive .But I can't believe that I paid $24 for two pieces of cold French toast with cold syrup one egg that was cooked perfect and pressed ham. My husband's ranchero was delicious but still two breakfast two juice was over $50 before tip. Yes they finally take credit cards but is it really worth the cost for a plate? I say no. Overall, the place was clean. Service was great, but the food was very mediocre and the corn beef hash is straight out of the can! There is always a consistent line out of the door for breakfast and brunch, and no reservations, but we were seated within 20minutes for a party of 2 at 9am on a Saturday. The omelet was stuffed and cooked well, while the chilaquiles exploded with flavor and was the star of the meal! They do serve their mimosas on ice here, which I was unaware and I thought watered down the drink too much so if you're looking for a brunch cocktail I recommend trying one of their other options. Waitress came by once to check in, but left before we could respond. My partner ordered the "special" banana pancakes. One lone banana slice was found in only one of the two pancakes. This is the second time we've left breakfast unfulfilled after choosing Blue Moose. $60 poorer after a too generous tip for a simple breakfast. We went to the Blue Moose for the first time during a weekend trip up to Breck. From the other reviews I read I was concerned it would be super busy on a Sunday morning but it wasn't busy around 9am when we went. We were seated right away and the service was great and very fast. Our server Francesca was very friendly and super peppy and bubbly. The ambiance is cute for the small space and everything appeared to be clean and well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious. The drip coffee that is locally roasted was very fresh and piping hot and the Cool Bean iced espresso vodka cocktails were great. I had the French Loop breakfast with cinnamon raisin French toast and corned beef hash which was scrumptious. My husband chose the Heuvos Rancheros with porch green chili and it was a huge portion but very yummy and the chili had just the right amount of kick to it. The only downside was the price. For two entrees, two cocktails and two drip coffees (plus 20% tip) our total was almost $97. For breakfast. The food and quality of service made the price slightly more bearable. We will try to stop by again during our next trip to Breck. read more
