I took a shot with Daymi's Hair Salon, and I'm very glad I did. I wanted a reverse balayage because I like my gray hair on top, but I wanted a chestnutty natural brunette on the bottom. My stylist figured out a cool way to do the effect with highlights, and then trimmed in a few layers to give it more movement. She made sure to explain everything step by step (which couldn't have been easy for her, as English isn't her first language), and double-checked with me on the level of trimming I wanted so that the length was perfect. I took my teen daughter with me, who decided a while ago that she wanted to go FULL RED (she's a natural brunette with bleached blonde accents). They told her straight up that the bleached areas would be WAY more orange than her brunette areas which would be the coppery color she wanted, and she totally loved the idea. She walked out happy as a clam, her fiery hair on full display. Needless to say both of us got BETTER than what we wanted, and the women who work there are lovely - friendly, professional, and know their stuff! We'll be back, for sure. read more

The appointment setting was so easy and the website was very clear with prices, but aside from that I was not impressed. Online it showed it had 90 reviews and 4.6 stars. I do not know how that happened. I came on lunch for a quick cut. The shampoo was good and enjoyable except for the really loud Hispanic music that was playing as well as the loud television. Both loud- both playing. It was not a relaxing experience. All I needed was a trim, but once we were done, there was so little cut hair on the floor that I actually asked TWICE if she actually even cut my hair. The amount on the floor was that of a bang trim. I know she did that bc I watched, but I really don't think she cut any of the rest of my hair at all. I asked twice about the no hair on the floor. She said "it's bc your hair is thin..." now my hair is not exceedingly thick, but I know what it looks like when it is cut. I even asked a second person... did she cut my hair? There is nothing on the floor. Nothing. The shampoo they use smells lovely, but what we they put in your hair after smells terrible. I will be going home to wash it out immediately. Not impressed. I feel like I paid $30 to have my hair washed and my bangs trimmed. Won't be back. read more

I called here initially wanting to get a haircut and haircut only however the stylist on the phone said it was $45 dollars which seemed outrageous to me after she explained it was for washing and blow dry as well (FYI they told me that even if I just wanted a cut it would still be $45. I took the appointment however, I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED at the blow dry. Let me explain... For $45 I expected my hair to be blow dried nice and straight but that was not the case. She used a big brush to dry the hair out and even used the big brush on the shorter hair in Front leaving my hair looking kinky and parts of it were WET. The roots to about and inch or two away had a wave because a big brush won't blow dry that straight unless your pulling on the hair with a small brush and applying heat to the root or very close which she did not. Also since she never switch to a small brush the hairs close to the root by ear and fore head are very wavy. Now I understand I had a mask on but she could have asked me to remove it temporarily since she had 2 face coverings on (a mask and plastic from forehead to chin). However that big brush was all she used you'd need a smaller and thin brush to get those hairs straight. I waited in the chair after she walked away thinking she'd come back to finish. Since I had asked her at the beginning to quote me on correcting my color. But after her and her colleague looked at my hair she told me what I needed to fix the color but was done... Overall the service was expensive for what I received and I left disappointed and negative $50 since I did leave tip. The tip was more for the advice than the service however I still regret leaving it! That's on me. read more

I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I needed an emergency hair fix, as I had tried to cut my own hair. It was the closest one to me, so I walked in. I was greeted instantly, and I told Raquel what I had tried to do and showed her a picture. She NAILED it. She understood exactly what I wanted, and kept checking in with me to make sure I was happy with what she was doing. I think I have finally found a stylist I won't leave! read more

The stylist and receptionist were talking about my hair being "snarled" and "tangled" in front of me. I told them I spoke Spanish and that they could just communicate to me directly. They also talked to one another another whether or not to dry my hair, without ever asking me. At the end of the appointment, I told the receptionist that she might want to be more careful about talking about clients in front of them. She was nothing short of rude. She told me not to come back. I will be sure to let everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague. I've never been more disrespected by a business. read more

Unfortunately, there's no option to give it less than one star. So I made an appointment here a few days ago. Checked out their website, prices, everything checked out. I wanted a Brazilian blowout and color. The website had the blowout at $95, and color at $65. Of course, I've gotten my hair done enough times to know that you always pay more than the quote, so I was prepared to pay about $300. My hair is short. Like barely at shoulder length short. There was a time when my hair was down to my waist, and I paid about $300 for a highlight and blowout, so I assumed this was a very generous estimate. I get there, and they quote me at $250 for the color and $200 for the blowout, and she says "but it will probably end up being more at the end." I tell her about the online prices, then she turns and starts speaking to her boss in Spanish, not knowing that I understand Spanish perfectly. She's saying "maybe we should charge her $150 for the blowout," and boss says "no, don't charge less than $200." So I interject and say I was ready to pay $300, but I'm not paying their quoted price. Now, again, $300 is still twice more than their online price, hence a pretty generous offer, but no, she says she can't take less than the $450, but if I'm short on cash, we can just do the color for today. I got up and walked out. That's not how you do business. read more

Good times; they even have text system that reminds you 24 hours before appointment that you have one. Flexible times. Friendly people. Raquel is super sweet and great to work with. I've been coming here for about 2 years and have brought my wife and daughter here, but this Saturday morning I was in teal need of a haircut and I get there at 9:34am and the door is still locked. Someone showed up five minutes later to open the door, but by that time I was google searching or the nearest Supercuts and decided to go there...If you wanna sleep in open later or make sure your employees get there sooner to be ready to open, I don't support local businesses that are run like that I'm not recommending anyone to go there anymore. Good experience all around. Easy to make an appt online for my 2 kids. Raquel did a great job with a major change cut for one of my kids. She took the time to show her different pictures until she my daughter decided what she wanted. She kept asking her questions throughout the cut. Both my kids love their cut & trim. Yikes. I don't think my hair stylist was a trained beautician- she seemed totally flummoxed by the photo I showed her and kept bringing a second hair stylist over to discuss. The second woman ended up doing most of the hair cut. It took a very long time and did not end up looking anything like the photo. I was so uncomfortable the entire time, I almost just got up and left several times but I didn't think I would be able to have the damage repaired before I had to be seen in public. Neither woman said anything to me while they were cutting/styling my hair, but instead spoke only to each other in Spanish. Now I have a stupid hair cut and had to pay $35 for the indignity. read more

When you have big bushy mane of kinky-curly hair, it's not always easy to find a salon that you trust to take care of it. I have: it's Daymi's Hair Salon. I came to the salon after a bad experience with another salon that left me with a very uneven layer cut. That was several years ago. I have been a loyal Daymi's customer ever since. Not only did they fix the terrible cut, but they listened to me and followed my preferences, fixing it over a year (so as not to lose all my length). Since that time, they have done a great job coloring, conditioning, blow drying, and flat ironing my hair. I have always left happy with the job they did. While they will give recommendations on what to do, they listen to the customer and let you be the decisionmaker. The stylists are professionals who are also approachable and personable and create a positive, homey atmosphere serving up interesting conversation, music and coffee. A great salon. This place is another home for us. This is a family owned salon that this ladies mother and daughter open, they living their dream doing what they love and their passion pampering us for years. Life is funny when there are people that love to damage the reputation of hard working people. My wife was there yesterday and is crazy she was talking to me about this lady that made a show in the salon about a haircut that her daughter liked but she didn't and made a show about it. Then she went to get her nails done next door and the same lady was talking loud and laughing being proud of getting a free hair cut and while making sure everyone listen around them. this morning she was going to do a review for them and she read about this lady doing a bad review. This ladies are passionately strong and we know it they pour their heart and soul everyday. We love them and our friends that have gone also they have learn to love them as much as we do. Most ridiculous experience I have ever had. I made an appointment to get a perm done in my hair. I asked for a quote and told them my hair was below my shoulders. The woman on the phone said she could not give me a quote but told me what the perms started at for hair at the shoulders. I then repeated I had long hair below my shoulders. She said ok and set the appointment but hung up without saying goodbye or confirming a time (very rude). I get there I'm not greeted the stylist just walks over to a chair and I followed her over. Once seated w my jacket off she then decides to inform me it will be twice as much as what she soft quoted on the phone and that they didn't have enough product to do my hair. Needless to say I will be going somewhere else and never return. read more

I decided at the last second I wanted to dye my hair black. It was a Saturday afternoon and gave them a call, simply because it's close to my neighborhood and when I called they said they will see me right away. When I arrived, I was greeted by all the ladies there, they sat me down and immediately started working on my hair. I have long hair and it was already black I just wanted it darker and with a blue tint to it. It was an ok experience, after all, all I needed was for them to dye my hair, no cut. I had called I made an appointment for my son to get his haircut at four. We arrive there right at 4 o'clock, and sit down. There were two stylists there and not one of them said hello, how can I help. We waited for 20 minutes when I finally went to one of the ladies that I thought was Daymi's mom and asked her how much longer. She said 15 minutes. I was frustrated by that point because I had busted it to get over there by four, so I went to run one of the many errands I had, came back and she was working on another lady. He and I sat down, and no one said hello again. By this time I decided we were not obviously valued customers so we left. I really miss Daymi-she would've never acted like that. And maybe it's too much to expect, but a text message saying she was running 30 minutes late would have been more professional & considerate. Was not impressed by this place at all. It wasn't a horrible experience but not a great one either. Called Friday morning for an afternoon appointment and they were able to fit me in, which was awesome! I asked for a price for a cut, wash and dry but she said they would not be able to quote me over the phone but depending on the length it would vary from $35-$55. When I arrived I was greeted by my stylist and escorted to my seat. There were two other stylist there doing each other's hair and complaining about life in Spanish. My stylist asked if I wanted my hair spritzed or washed. I thought that was a weird question only because I was paying for a wash. She did a great job washing my hair and massaging my scalp. She took me back to the chair where she didn't even towel dry my hair so water was dripping all over my face. She asked what I wanted to do and I told her just a trim about an inch. She proceeded to cut my hair, but she never asked me about anything else like, do I want to continue with the face frame in the front or if I wanted my hair in a straight, round or "v" shape in the back. She then attempted to dry my hair with a round brush but kept tangling my hair in the brush and knotting it up. Needless to say that was not very pleasant. It became evident that she may have just finished beauty school and she was nervous. I get that. When I went to pay I was charged $50! Which would not have bothered me but why am I being charged a price for someone who just started her career and at a place that is not upscale? I went here thinking I would pay a reasonable price for a haircut. read more
