I've been going to Lee for hair ever since I was in middle school, Now I'm a college student! She's great with pictures so be sure to bring any with you if you want a haircut or style. She had me with very long hair and short hair above my shoulders as well. She even styled my hair for prom. I would definitely suggest her for people with asian hair since our hair can be tricky. I had to continuously correct the person doing my nails.. ask her over and over to correctly shape them so they wouldn't chip. They were lazy and rushing the entire time. I went in to get my hair toned and my hair was on the blonder side. The girl toned it and I walked out looking darker. She said it'll wash out and become blonder after 2 or 3 washes... I went home and washed it and it looked drastically darker then when I came in and I didn't get what I wanted. I asked her if I don't see the results of it becoming brighter after 2 or 3 washes, would you mind fixing it if I tip you and she said "No. but I will shampoo it, when can you come in?" This is my original post from 2011 and I wanted to update. The salon has since moved to an adorable location across from the domain. They have WIFI!! They offer both hair and nail services and have amazing hours! 10-7:30 M-S and noon - 6:00 on Sunday. I never have to make an appointment. She either takes me immediately or I come back in a few hours or the next day. With my crazy schedule, I can't really stick to an appt. time. She has transformed my brownish/grey hues to a beautiful blonde. I still see Lee, the owner of the salon. She is fabulous! She is always looking out for me, my hair and eager to save me money. She will always offer ways and suggestions to save me money, while looking great! She also does a great wax and my hair and nails look fantastic! I had avoided the "strip mall" salons for years, but this has changed my views forever! I love coming here! 8/6/2011 Le, you saved the day!!! I have chatted with Lee many times over the last few years. She did a great job with my nails, but I was very hesitant to have her do my hair. I recently went to my usual salon and paid $275 for the worst color ever!! I am naturally darker brown, with gray :(. I went to my usual girl and asked for golden/brown, or as I called it "Bronde". I walked out with brown hair and copper highlights, with hues of red. I specifically said, no red, no bleach blond! I was devastated! It took her 5 hours to make me look like a penny! I went back for a correction and 4 hours later, I had caramel hair, not highlights of golden Blonde. My hair looked NOTHING like the picture of Jennifer Aniston! It was awful and i was now broke! I was having breakfast last weekend, and took a friend to Lee for color. She looked at my hair and told me, as she has in the past........"Why do you spend so much, when you are not happy!" she told me she could make my hair like Jennifer Aniston's, or match the picture I had." An hour later, I was golden/blondish brown!!! I have highlights and low lights, all over color. It looks FANTASTIC! I spent about $90, and $20 of that was the tip! Le is amazing! It took her an hour or so to do a color, all over foils and she completely flat ironed my hair and made me feel like a rock star! LE, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I should have seen you sooner! I look forward to going back in a month or so for a partial. I saved a ton of money and time and I was a walk in!! No Appt!! No need to go to a fancy salon. Le has been doing this for years! This is a review of both the Mani/Pedi and salon services Li and her crew at Split Ends did an amazing job! I came to Austin and needed to get my mom's and grandma's hair and nails done. Almost every place we called was booked. Towards the end of the day, Li and her crew were still willing to take us, and I'm glad they did! My mother needed to have her hair cut and a frost done. My grandmother was there for the ride, but I had them take her in for a manicure and pedicure. She practically insisted that I have the same services done along side hr, and I'm glad I did. It was a luxurious experience beginning with a warm water foot bath. Li proceeded to go through an exfoliation process of my legs and feet, leading then to he nails and cuticles being treated, drawing out the dead and dry skin. I had no idea how much skin I could loose. After the process, my legs and feet felt tingly all over (in a good way). As a guy, this was only the second time in my life I have had a pedicure done, but with the experience I had, I know I will do this again. The manicure was almost as luxurious, and aside from a full warm water bath, went through almost the same procedure. Li suggested I have my hair cut as well (though she didn't know I had it cut a couple days before?) I'm glad I went with her suggestion. I was very happy originally with my cut, but was even happier once she gave me the cut and style. As far as my mother's haircut and frost went, we were all very happy with how it turned out. She will be ready for when she flies back to California and sees her husband. I know he'll notice. read more

Received chelac (sp?) Mani and pedi on Saturday and today (3 days later!!!!) my manicure is chipping! Never has this happened in all the years that I have been getting my nails done. Understandable if this was plain regular nail polish but not chelac! read more

Note: This is a pedicure review. I have never gotten my hair styled here. I came in late in the day and they were able to get to me right away. They seemed tired, but still friendly and seemed to be joking in their native tongue. I asked to not have the massage, but I still got a little bit of that and I had to remind the technician The pedicure was very fast. I didn't realize she had missed some spots on the edges until I left. The polish chipped the very next day. It was disappointing. I can't really blame them. I guess I didn't wait long enough, but they didn't seem concerned about whether the polish had truly set (even if there had been a good coat set). It might have just been a mediocre day. Perhaps in the future I would give them another try, if I hadn't found a much better place the next time I sought out a nail salon. read more

Please don't waste your time and money in this place. This is challenging for me to do, specially in these hard times for small businesses. But......I need to make you aware of this. I have always had my hair in lovely condition. My hairdresser name Lee who has completely ruined my hair. I explained to her that I wanted long layers, showed her pictures to give her an idea of what I wanted. To begin with she didn't washed my hair, instead she decided to used a flat iron without a hair heat protection. After hair cutting I asked for her to washed my hair to see how my hair will look and noticed that she was pulling my hair, it was strange for me and I immediately knew something was wrong. She blow dry AND used the flat iron AGAIN. I told her to stop. This act to me was careless and very inconsiderate. I don't understand why Lee done this to my hair. I was happy going out to help my community with giving her business and I regret it so much. read more

I just got my hair cut & eyebrows waxed for the first time at Split Ends Hair & Nail Salon and I had a great experience! I have very thick long hair, and am super hesitant to try a new place to get it cut... however I also don't want to spend $60+ on a simple hair cut. I reluctantly tried this place out and am not disappointed at all! Lee is super sweet, and is very thorough! She did a great job with adding dimension to my hair while keeping it long and full. She didn't shampoo my hair, but styled it nicely afterwards. She also did a great job with the eyebrow wax (another service I'm very wary of). Overall, it was great! I was in and out of there in 40 minutes, and the cut (no shampoo), style & wax together was only $50! read more

Not the greatest selection of polish, buy they were nice people. Then I have a 3 month hiatus from having a baby, return and a man I've never seen was the only person there. Did this place change owners?He was not friendly, seemed pissed, and did a horrible pedicure. He didn't even give a massage? Who gives a 25 min pedicure.? So mad. This is the WORST manicure I have ever gotten. I want to start off by saying the woman who was working was very nice. But there are some MAJOR problems with her business. First off, she was the only one working. Second, she was half adding my nails and trying to hurry through them or she truly just wasn't good at it. Either way the end result was not good. I don't even want them to redo them because I don't think they can do better idk. Like I said half ass or truly just bad. The nails were all different lengths, but she got the shape right. When she painted them she did not paint the entire nail and she skipped a few steps in the acrylic nail process. Like the cuticles Which is IMPORTANT as I'm sure you know. As if that isn't bad enough she lady ran my card 3 times. She said the first 2 times didn't go through, well they DID. $90 CHARGED TO MY CARD FOR THE WORST SET OF NAILS IVE EVER HAD! Don't recommend the acrylics. Maybe something else. Had to spend an extra 45 minutes there trying to figure out the refund to my card. She wouldn't even apologize for charging my card 3 times or for having to reprint my nails with a 2nd coat of clear bc of a weird film that was left after they dried. Sad day for me. Save yourself the frustration and the time. And the Money$$!! I'm actually crying while writing this because I lost 35$ and my nice nails to this place. I'm crying in my rootbeer float rightnow.... I just paid $48 for the WORST haircut of my LIFE!!! I asked for a long, sleek angled bob with side bangs and that's exactly what I got...at first. It looked beautiful. She asked if I liked it and I said "Yes, it's perfect!" I meant it. THEN, out of nowhere, she unilaterally decided I would look "sexier" if she hacked away at my new hairdo and gave me an entirely different hairdo, creating random, uneven layers all the way around. She took my beautiful angled bob and mutilated it into a sloppy frame around my face--the OPPOSITE of an angled bob! It looks like a space helmet on my head. Like a 3 year old attacked me in my sleep with scissors. I didn't know what she was doing until it was too late. Now I'm stuck with a hideous hairdo until it grows out--and it will take a while to grow out because some of these awful "layers" barely extend past the length of the top of my ears!!! I left quickly so I didn't sob in her chair. WHAT HAPPENED?! I was assaulted by a hair murderer. read more
