Cool venue for weddings, corporate events and more. Came for the St Augustine Food & Wine Fest…read morewhich was okay. Cool to try new stuff but I wasn't impressed. The Lakewood Ranch Food & Wine Fest is sooo much better. Keeps you busy the entire time. Also it rained on us while being there and the are was muddy or didn't think about being covered. They have a lot of improving to do for that festival.

We chose this venue because of it's location in proximity to the wedding (Baker's Ranch), the price, the menu, and mostly because of the room itself and the views of the sunset over the Manatee River. When we first met with Cindi many months ago, she already knew the time of sunset on March 9. That speaks for itself. We set the end of cocktail hour to coincide with that time, and worked everything backwards from there for the rehearsal. The sun cooperated on the day of the event and everything was magical. We choose an open bar, appetizers, and a menu of about five entrees. The food was all very good, but I wouldn't call it excellent. The mahi-mahi was a tad too done. The brisket was close to excellent. I didn't have the island tacos, but heard they were a hit. The coconut shrimp was perfect. So a mix. Appetizers were generous. We selected "premium level" beer and wine and liquor for the bar. Mostly I was happy with that choice - good beer and liquor, except I felt that the Chardonnay options brought it down a notch. We asked for a slightly better Chardonnay, and the best we could get was still not so great. Wine lovers need a little more value in an event like this, and a better white would help to improve the overall value of the premium selection. The venue and the staff are the reason the rating is high. Cindi was very helpful and accommodating from the time we first met in the fall, but really showed her professionalism on the night of the event. She and her team were friendly and helpful, paying attention to detail and flexible in meeting our needs. Big kudos to the staff!

Not living in the area, Baker's Ranch made the entire process incredibly easy and stress free. Having a team to email and ask any questions that popped into my head for an entire year was incredible. We had Missy as our day of coordinator Read more about We live in Boston Massachusetts butand leading up to the wedding. She's exactly who you want for a coordinator. Her advice and support was indispensable and I was at ease the entire wedding day knowing I had her there to help. All the vendors we got through Bakers Ranch were also amazing (shout out to DJ Rafael Santiago through Grant Hemond, Blue Water Catering and Tampa Bay Cakes!) We had such an amazing wedding and I don't think we would have had such a successful and relatively stress free wedding had we gone anywhere else. Our guests all had so much fun which was also very important to us. Thank you so much to everyone at Bakers Ranch and especially Missy for making our wedding so special and memorable!!

Absolutely disgusting behavior and I hope you learn a lesson and maybe behave like a human being next time something tragic happens to a family.

They have a large outdoor area with a playground for kids and lots of tables. There is a small bar inside, and they are renovating more interior space for additional seating for the hot summer months. The wines are overall pretty tasty. They only grow muscadine grapes on the property and import other grapes from California and elsewhere. They have a selection of drier wines all the way to the sweet fruit wines. They also offer wine sorbets. My husband and I each got a wine flight of 4 wines for $18. I forgot how big the pours were but they were a decent size. They also offer wine tasting experience of 6 wines, smaller pours, that lasts 45 minutes. They have a small section of food. We got the pimento cheese and crackers, the cheese was delicious. They also had popsicles and ice cream, which my kids enjoyed. We got three bottles of wine to take home with us! We love supporting our Florida wineries! Also, our bartender Shelley was fantastic! Very personable and knowledgeable.

Our story started with finding a gem of a reception venue, Worthington in Ellenton, FL. It was…read moreperfect for our daughter's wedding reception in October. It is a great location and a fun, old Florida lodge. We had everything planned, and then we had two hurricanes. This review is being done because of the unprofessional way we have been treated and how Worthington Management has handled this situation. It is now seven weeks from the day of my daughter's wedding and there is still no follow-up from Management. Imagine having your daughter's dream day become the biggest nightmare. As we waited for the hurricane to move through the area, we had no idea what would happen with the wedding plans that were made. The second hurricane affected Worthington, there was no electricity as many local businesses had to deal with. We were in communication with the wedding planner after the storm passed, this is when things were not handled the right way. The wedding planner's text communication was not timely, she finally told us the second day after the hurricane, that "there was no way it would be cleaned up by tomorrow". This was Friday and our wedding was on Saturday. The venue cancellation for the reception was devastating. We were at a loss for what to do. We received no help from Management with finding an alternative plan for where to have the reception. We had 120 family members traveling, still coming to FL for the wedding. There was a major communication problem with the wedding planner; she was not very good at handling this unexpected situation. The Worthington Management didn't reach out to us to help our family with this situation. We had to call to ask for our money back a week after they canceled the reception, as no services were rendered by Worthington. We did speak to Worthington Management and she agreed to give us a partial refund and the money my daughter gave for the bar/alcohol fees. We have yet to receive a follow-up in writing as we requested or the money that we are owed ~$6381. This isn't a small amount of money, and it is unethical to keep money for services that were not provided. We are in a situation where we don't know what to do, as we have been "ghosted" by Worthington Management and have not been paid back money that is rightfully ours.

After 9 months of planning our reception with Worthington, we could not have our reception there.   There was a hurricane coming our way the same week of my wedding. Once the hurricane passed, we had to call to see how bad Worthington was hit. The wedding planner said that they had no power, and they could not host our reception. They suggested we change the date for our wedding; however, this wasn't an option. Most of our family still made the trip to Florida and our ceremony at a church nearby was able to have the mass for us. In a crisis such as a hurricane, which was very traumatic for us, they did not help us at all to have our reception with them on the day of our wedding.   From the beginning, we always had to reach out to them for questions. They did not reach out to us to apologize and have been ghosting us throughout trying to get this resolved.   We called and spoke to management and she stated we would get our money back for the alcohol and the payments made for the venue. Still, almost two months later now, we have not heard back from management and they have not reached out to follow up on this. They are literally holding our money at this time. This is not a business you want to work with to have your dream wedding. They need better management to be able to handle when a catastrophic weather situation occurs, and it will again during hurricane season.
