Well I came back, craving a fire dog I made the 30 minute drive from my house, brought cash and ordered my food. On a positive note the fire dog and polish that I ordered were great as well as the fries. Clearly they know how to cook fresh fries the right way. On a negative note, DO NOT ORDER THE CHEESEBURGER!!!!! I ordered a plain cheeseburger for my son. Got home and removed it from the wrapper to discover some odd grill marks on one side of what seemed to be the most perfect but amazingly flat and perfectly round hamburger patty I have ever seen. Also noted the "cheese" of the cheeseburger was a smear of liquid American cheese sauce that was bland. Took one bite as I handed my son a piece and it hit me from the smell and flavor. This hamburger patty was not cooked at Dazzos, what I was tasting was a microwaved, pre cooked hamburger patty that was really awful in flavor. When you microwave beef to reheat or finish cooking it changes the flavor permanently. It is a clear and definite smell and flavor that is unmistakable. Crew at Dazzos, if you read reviews like this one you need to seriously consider removing burgers from your menu or figure out a way of cooking a fresh hamburger. read more

Was in Glendale to see a movie at the drive in & was on a quest to find something different to eat before the movie, hence we stopped at Dazzo's Dog House. I ordered the Chicago Dog & my husband got the Chubby Dog. Both meals came with fries & we also ordered sodas. Our orders came quick & easy. The employees were very friendly & accessible. My buddy took me in a couple days of ago because I told him I love old "Greasy Spoons". He has been a customer for a number of years and this is one of his favorites to visit. The old Chicago charm was neat to see in Glendale. The owners are obviously passionate about the windy cities professional sports team with all of the memorabilia (especially the 90's Bull's). We both ordered a double cheeseburger with a small fry and a large 32oz drink. I know this place is famous for its hotdogs, but my friend was insistent that I try their burger. It was decent, not great. Next time I'll definitely be trying a dog and hopefully can change this review to 5 stars. Our order was out LIGHTNING fast and the fries were piping hot, which is a must for me. Their homecut fries were awesome. My only complaint was the cheese on my burger. I dislike plastic Kraft style processed cheese. If there was an option (which there wasn't) for a slice of REAL cheese I would have opted for that. Had I known ahead of time I would have ordered it without. Not the end of the world, everything else was excellent. The prices were surprisingly good. For 2 dbl cheeseburgers, 2 small fries, and 2 large drinks it was less than $25. In today's economy that's less than fast food joints and the food here is far superior. Dang plastic cheese cost them a star. Next time I hope to rectify that by trying a Vienna dog. read more

Been coming here for years, and I mean decades. Yes, it's a landmark in Glendale. However, as good as the food is, there is no question the staff puts a damper on it by being absolute jerks. They all act as though you are totally ruining their day by asking some simple question, like "what time do you close today?" They really don't care to be bothered, and it's obvious. I've always seen this attitude there and it must be a "family thing" passed along through the generations. Anyway, I keep buying the food, and sometime I even ask stupid questions to get their reaction, like "do you take a card?" That one really flips their wig as they have HUGE monster signs everywhere saying CASH ONLY. It's funny to see them respond, like "you bleeping idiot".... What the heck. I went here and asked for a Chicago dog and fries. When I got home and opened my dog I found a hot dog with mustard onions and sport peppers. He asked if I wanted everything and I said yes. In what part of Chicago does a "Chicago dog" come with onions mustard and sport peppers. It did not have any relish, tomato, pickle, celery salt. I suspect it was not a miscommunication but the fact that they ran out of these items, in that case, they should have told me instead of giving me this half-assed monstrosity. Best Dog House. It's authentic both with food and it's decor. The service provided is personable and the staff is so kind! I have eaten here in my childhood days and coming back with my daughter and friends from college to eat is literally the best thing to share with those I care about. I'm very disappointed with this place. My husband and I have always enjoyed coming for Chicago style foods. We haven't been there in a while so I stopped by to get some pizza puffs and corn dogs, after Looking on there website for the items and getting the prices I went inside to purchase and all the prices were more then double, when I asked about the price different the associate said to me "oh don't look at the website we haven't updated it since 2015" no bargaining with me no apologies just rude terrible customer service. We have been going to Dazzo's for years! We love it because it is not a typical chain restaurant. It's always clean inside and the staff is friendly. We love to go over there and order a couple bratwurst for lunch. We've tried lots of other things on the menu, but the bratwurst are my favorite. The only downside is there cash only but they do have an ATM on site. We just learn to always have enough cash for stopping by. read more

For anyone that has lived in Chicagoland area, the flavor and the taste of their hotdogs is very similar to a very well-known hotdog place nationally called Gene's and Judes's. First time here? Where are you from?" They also have family pictures all over the wall, going back to when they first opened. Nice! And if UR interested, they also have a nice collection Chicago team Sun Times clippings, mostly of the Bulls and Cubs stuff. Okay, this is all great Georgie, but what makes it so special? Well, the food! Grilled Jumbo Dogs, Red Hots, Fire Dogs, Brats, Italian Beef -- they have them all and they're cooked fresh, just for you. Delicious! Another plus are their French fries. They're exquisite and topped with a nice mixture of seasoning salt. I'm not a big fries guy, but I might come back for some more of them. They've been around for decades and I witnessed customers sharing stories about Dazzo's here. The Tiny casual restaurant also is decorated with an assortment of memorabilia and fun antiques including an autographed Alice Cooper Guitar. We placed our order and sat ourselves near the flashing traffic light. Within a minute or two our order was called. I tried the Italian Beef with Giardiniera. The beef was very tender and very developed with flavor. The bread was a sponge that was soaked with all that beefy goodness and the spicy vegetable topping just made the sandwich pop in my mouth in all the right places. The sandwich is very large and comes with a foil liner so you can bring some home for a snack later if you want. My husband ordered far more food than he could eat but wanted to try The Fire Dog and the combo sandwich. He liked the dog and the combo sandwich but the dog and sausage come deep-fried slightly more well done than he likes so he would stick with Italian Beef next time. Fries come with all the hotdogs and they are made fresh hand cut in house. The fries were tasty and good. They make Home Made Italian Water ice! I don't know of anyplace else on the westside offers that! The Water Ice is a Creamy kind of style I'm not familiar with perhaps it's a Chicago Style? I have lived in the Phoenix area for the past years . I have been searching the area for the for the Chicago style hotdog. My great memories of Johnny's, Gene'& Jude's, Nicky's and Za Aa' have the bar really high. I found Dazzo's by googling fresh cut French fries. There is nothing better on a Chicago hotdog than a sesame seed bun. Vienna hot dog, mustard, sport peppers, relish and top it off with a bunch of fries. I have found the perfect hotdog in the Phoenix area. I also purchased a couple of pounds of Italian beef. Dazzo's is a quant little restaurant with memorabilia dropping the walls. I would much rather give these guys 4.5 stars, but since Yelp doesn't offer half stars I rounded down. The biggest reason I'm giving these guys 4 stars instead of a perfect five is that they do not take credit/debit cards, so you have to make sure you're packing some cash to get your order here. We ordered six hot dogs, which all come with amazing home made fries, and we paid about $24 which was well worth it in my opinion. The other reason I rounded down, and the bigger offense for a Chicagoan, is that these guys did not add the tomato slices or pickle spears to my Chicago dog. The food here was still pretty amazing and it really made me feel like I was eating a hot dog in Chicago for a moment. The owners here are Chicago natives and they did a great job bringing the Windy City down to the desert. This is a local place that may parents were told about. They have been around for awhile. Walking in they have pretty cool decor. Lots of pictures and the walls are mostly covered with them. Inside it's pretty small. There are six tables to sit at with about three more outside. The menu is old school with plastic letters and words. Prices are not too bad and they have a good selection of items. The parking area is really small but you can park on the side street (not the Main Street). One of the biggest things is that they only take cash. If you don't have cash they do have an ATM for you to pull out cash but you will be hit with a transaction fee. Come and try this place out!
