The offerings are sweet and savory. check out their mini burgers. The bun is pink very cute.

    Pi Day!

I stopped by DB Desserts on "Pi Day" to try something new rather than traditional pie. They had advertised the cutest pie cupcakes that I had to try! I picked up Key Lime, Cherry, and Banana Cream pie/cupcake. They were all so yummy and a great way to celebrate the occasion. The bakery itself is super cute with a photo wall and lots of pink decor! The staff member that helped us was very friendly and helpful, we showed up just before closing which always makes me a bit nervous. But no grumpy we're about to close here! Yay!

We saw the cinnamon roll & fried chicken saturday special and wanted to give it a try. The week we got it was a peach cobbler version and it was so good we wished we'd gotten two orders. We also grabbed some cupcakes and hot cocoa bombs, all of which were well-priced, adorable, and most importantly, tasty. We'll be back to try some other items in the future.

Love this little bake shop! The variety of cupcake flavors makes visiting so fun. I enjoyed every one I tried. They are also an aesthetic vibe! I also love the gift box options they have in the store, it makes for such an adorable gift for co-workers or friends. I recommend.

    Bacon cake!

I ordered a bacon themed cake for my girlfriend's birthday. The cake was amazing! Nice and moist with perfect buttercream frosting and a delicious ganache made with real bacon! As you can see by the pic, it looked as good as it tasted! It was absolutely perfect! They had it boxed and ready on time as promised, and the communication was excellent. It was fairly priced and, given the quality, I felt it was an excellent value. I will definitely be back for more when ever there is a special occasion that warrants a special cake. When is Flag Day, again?!

My family and I had such high hopes for my bday cake :(. The cake design was beautiful' However inedible. The cake was extremely dry and chalky along with the center layer being burned in which we could immediately taste. Unfortunately, it tasted like a boxed cake I tried baking as a teenager. Highly disappointed, it literally ruined my birthday dinner.

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. (5/5) Twisted Croissant certainly does some some really delectable treats. It's one of my favorite bakeries in Portland!

I'm not sure that I can justify spending $7 to $12 on a single pastry. This will have to be my special occasion bakery, I suppose. Additionally, I had a less than pleasant exchange with one of the employees. It kind of caught me off guard because that has never happened before. Maybe she was just having a rough day.

But let's talk about their quiche. We got the corn pepper quiche and it was one of the best quiche I have had in awhile. Similar in texture to quiche from Coyles in Seattle but the floor was so good. Pie wise we got the ginger plum streusel, whiskey peach and Marionberry. All delicious but Marionberry was the standout. I wish they still have something with rhubarb but the season was already over when we went. We actually went back on our way home to Seattle and picked up the salted honey, tart cherry, and peach streusel. All good. Get there early for the best selection. I particularly recommend their chocolate, strawberry shortcake, and key lime pies. S'mores is also a solid choice. All of their pies have a great crust: flakey, thick, and excellent when dipped in coffee. I wasn't fond of the whiskey peach because it had a strong whiskey flavor, but this pie would be great for whiskey-lovers. Although the prices are pretty high, the pies are so good, and they are definitely worth trying! All of the workers are very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant has plenty of seating. It can be hard to find free parking nearby, so I recommend parking in an adjacent neighborhood if you can find a spot.

While I enjoyed the sandwich I tried, prices were definitely on the higher side. The space itself could have used a midday cleanup - they were quite a few crumbs on the floor and some chairs left out of place. I got the Get Him To The Greek half-sandwich, as well as a full sandwich of their special (forgetting the name now). I will definitely come back when I'm in the area and looking for lunch or when I spot them at a market!
