What's up with the DB Steakhouse? Hit and miss I guess... My son and my brother just ate there tonight. Both said it was foul! One had filet mignon, which was tough and old. The other had surf n turf and said he feels sick. Plus, what they charge is outrageous for bad food. My brother said the potatoes au gratin must have came packaged in a tube pre-spliced and cheese poured on top. Sounds like the hostess was quite rude and the waiter not very attentive. Sad. I've been to DB Steakhouse twice. The first time I had steak salad which was good. But, the last time, I had their linchpin special, which included tomato bisque. If you like Safeway's tomato bisque, then you may be okay. But, I'd expect better from a popular restaurant. We all dined at Locanda Capri in downtown Brentwood last night. I've read mixed reviews, but it was excellent. Most of us had brasato. The meat was so tender and the polenta buttery and delicious. The service was also very good. We recently moved to the area and made reservations for Valentines dinner. We were greeted by the friendly staff and seated immediately. Our server, Taylor was exceptionally helpful when she found out that I am vegetarian, returning to the kitchen to discuss options with the chef, and returning with their recommendations. My wife had the surf and turf. The steak was cooked to perfection and the lobster was delicious. The potatoes and vegetables were a great compliment to both. I had the linguini with mushrooms and spinach in a creamy sauce that was so amazing, I wished I had skipped the house salad. There was three times the amount of pasta than I could eat, which gave us lunch the next day. Dessert of crème brûlée and strawberry cheesecake were nice, but I was sad the coffee machine was not working. Overall, the cocktails are well made, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and we will return. Thank-you for making this vegetarian feel welcome! read more

Food is hit and miss but the topping in the cake is there stupid up charges to sub a side they charge $8 for a whole side. But the funny part if you are going to screw people over like that then give me the original side as well. Watch them the won't tell you about the up charge. After a gender reveal we decided to stop here for a snack. We had a 4:30 reservation for a party of 11 and were seated immediately. More than half of our table decided to order Shirley temples for our beverages. Which were delicious. My little group decided to only get fried pickles and chicken wings as we were not that hungry. The fired picked were delicious and cooked to perfection. I would know since this is my favorite snack to eat. The wings were cooked perfectly. Crispy and juicy just how i like them. We came for dinner on Friday night and were so happy that we did. It was our first time visiting DB Steakhouse and it definitely will not be our last. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food makes this a must stop in Discovery Bay. They have a large and varied menu that includes everything from pizza to steak. Standouts included the steak and shrimp skewers as well as the ahi tuna salad. A couple of people in our group also got the filet and grilled shrimp which they raved about. We also got the potato skins as an appetizer and they were amazing. The service was excellent and the prices reasonable especially for the quality of food. A really fun place! Ok first off, their food is pretty good here... I had the Parmesan crusted pork chop and it was perfect, highly recommend. On another note, made reservations for tonight at 7pm for 2. Showed up a couple minutes early and checked in for reservation. Lady at the front said it's about a 10-15 min wait because they already sat people in reservation tables... and there is another reservation waiting ahead of us for the same reason. So here I am sitting here waiting for the table I reserved earlier, as I write this review. definitely not happy about that. Update: owner takes full ownership and apologized. Female owned, so def need to give it up to her for handling this booming business. Again, food is great and would highly recommend the pork chop. Live music too. read more

Came here for Cinco De Mayo. Absolutely enjoyed our food, drinks and especially the service. $5.00 Drinks and the $3.50 Tacos were some of the best I've ever tasted. I get the bolognese every time we go here and every time it is exquisite. They add a little cream to the sauce to make it even more delicious than a traditional bolognese. No room for improvement on that dish. We also usually get the calamari which is expertly prepared. It needs a little salt, but otherwise is also perfect. Fried pickles and French fries are also very tasty. My friend got the peanut butter and jalapeño jelly burger which he swears by, and his wife got the prime rib sandwich which she loved. My boyfriend got a steak (rare) with seasonal vegetables which were fully cooked without being overdone. He also recommends the bread pudding, but I say go for the chocolate lava cake. (Bread isn't a dessert in my opinion.) Service here is outstanding time after time. Ambience is a little loud but nothing that will make it hard for you to hear the people at your table. It gives sports bar vibes, and there are like a million TVs in there, so if you're looking for a place to watch the game, there are no bad seats here! read more

The food was horrible. I ordered a steak medium, and I got well done. I mentioned it to the bar tender, and they could careless. There were so many natts flying around. I had 3 natts land in my drink in a span of an hour. I mentioned it to the bartenderand they said they would tell someone at the end of the night to set traps. My husband ordered a salad with his dinner and was up changed an additional 4 dollars, yet someone else came in sat next to us, ordered the same side salad, and was not up changed. The menu has a wide variety of steak, seafood, pasta and specialty dinners, so it was an excellent choice for my friend's birthday dinner. She had salmon and I had seared tuna. Great place to go. They charged .30 cents EXTRA for my dressing on the side. I don't mind paying their prices and spending hundreds of dollars but .30 cents really seems petty and changes the experience. Nice and clean and everyone is very kind and pleasant. They were busy and handled the order in a timely fashion. Many of us are there often and enjoy the menu and the new items are usually pretty good. My daughter came home from college and was really excited about trying this restaurant since it is a five minute drive and offered a seemingly flavorful menu. We arrived round 1 on a Friday. It was a steady pace of guests and had nice decor and ambiance upon entering. We were told to find a seat so we sat outside on their amazing patio. Beautiful pond with water features dancing across the water. When our server came out, she did not introduce herself or talk about the menu. We will just call her an order taker because she was definitely not guiding us through the menu- I asked about any signature cocktails. The young lady replied "We just have a full bar...". I ordered a Stella and my daughter ordered a sparkling Rose and Sprite. Once the young lady came out with our drinks, she LITERALLY brought all three drinks leaning in her hands on no tray! Her hands were touching the top of the glasses where we needed to drink from! As annoyed as I was, we just took our napkins, dampened them and wiped off the glasses where we needed to drink. And my daughter's sparkling was NOT Rosé at all. USE A COCKTAIL TRAY PLEASE We ordered the Spicy Asian Lettuce Wraps to start. I asked for extra lettuce which we only received three total lettuce leafs. Once beginning to eat the dish, we found it to be underwhelming. No Asian spices or heat and most definitely lacking in flavor. My daughter took one bite and refused to eat it. It was like eating chicken breast, large water chestnuts whole and sliced mushrooms with gravy. I asked the server to take it away but I told her I'd still pay for it but it was not what we thought it would be. Ok! Let's start with another dish. We got the Wedge Salad to share before our main courses. Definitely not bad but could have used more toppings and actual blue cheese crumbles. I asked the runner (not our server) for more bacon and dressing, but I can tell she was annoyed to have to get it. I would have it again. I ordered the Blackened Chicken pasta as my main course and my daughter got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with fries. My pasta was good but on palate I can tell it wasn't "blackened" and I got a lot of black pepper notes. It was not as hot as I thought it should have been. I asked for extra spinach and Parmesan and didn't get it but I just ate my dish to not be annoying. My daughter got the BUFFALO CHICKEN SANDWICH with garlic fries. The sandwich was huge with great aroma. When the plate arrived my daughter immediately took a shoestring style fry and it was cold. Not room temperature but actually cold. My daughter requested a new order of garlic fries and the next fries indeed came out cold again. She took one bite of her sandwich as she wanted it with her fries. By this point we were ready to go. Being that our server was not around on the patio, my daughter just went inside, paid our check, got a to go box and we left. Overall, the staff was not very bubbly or informative. They didn't reflect any enthusiasm or hospitality- just nice by obligation. For $100 at lunch, it wasn't worth it. We will come back just for drinks and maybe a salad during lunch.
