DC pie is a part of life. I have been a regular customer since they opened. I am obsessed with literally everything on the menu from the pizza to the meatballs to their kale salad. I pray to God that they open more locations. Everything about this place is such a vibe and it's exactly what people in Brickell needed. That being said one of the most rudest gentlemen ive ever encountered in my life "kindly" was condecending to me as I walked in looking for my friends as I was unaware that the bar is thru a door in the back of the place and the front is a pizzeria. The back is pretty crowded and small. I suggest the people in the front of the establishment ask patrons "bar or restaurant?" Before speaking to them with attitude. I was wearing my work scrubs and motorcycle jacket over so I dont see how or why he would treat me as I was some vagrant. I was highly offended, I will not be going back. I like to go to a restaurant a few times before I leave a review, because just like in our lives we have good and bad days. I'd had the pizza here 3 times, and today I had the wings and meatballs. I am SO overjoyed to have DC PIE CO in Brickell and so close to my office! The service is always great. Everyone is attentive and wants to make sure you're happy and eating good food. Anyway, what you really want to know about is the food: - Wings: I made no alterations. The sauce to blue cheese ratio is PERFECT. It's the right amount of spicy. The WINGS are slightly charred and SUCCULENT. Dare I say..... FINGA LICKIN GOOD! And let me tell you, I did! The chicken is cooked to perfection and it is not dry at all. Order them. NOW!!!!! - Meatballs: First word that came to mind when I tried them is FRESH. Every component in the dish is just fresh. You can taste it. The meatballs are seasoned deliciously, and the texture is nice and soft. The marinara sauce is perfect (I hate when restaurants put too much sugar in their sauce!!!) and they serve it with a creamy and rich portion of cheese. Can't tell if it's burrata or straciatella. They messed up and didn't bring my wings for a while. However, what I am assuming is the manager came right up to me and apologized for the error and told me the truth which I loved. They gave me wings by mistake to another table. I told her it's perfectly fine and not to worry. They comped the wings. I am loving DC PIES and will absolutely be back. Fresh, thin-crust, Brooklyn-style pizza. After a raving recommendation by my professor proclaiming Lucali's pizza on Miami Beach is THE BEST pizza in Miami, I decided I had to try their pies for myself (DC Pie is by same owner and reportedly has same pizza as Lucali's). I came with two friends and two large pies to share between the three of us was just right. We came to a 2 meat, 2 veggie consensus and ordered a half meatball-half pepperoni pizza and another half mushroom-half artichoke pizza (ended up being $16.50 per person after tax/tip). The pies were a bit slow to come out, but the wait proved worth it. Each pie is sliced into 6 pieces, so we perfectly got one slice of each kind. As advertised, there was plenty of fresh basil seemingly growing out of our pizzas! The meatball and pepperoni toppings were our clear favorites as the veggies didn't seem substantive enough (and the artichoke was even the most expensive topping). Before coming, I'll admit I was skeptical that Brickell was already saturated with pizza options, but I can concede that DC Pie does fill a niche of simple, thin-crust pizza at lower prices (vs. for example, Mister 01). *Ambience: DC Pie is a pizzeria gem located at the heart of Brickell (conveniently located right next to the 10th street Promenade metro mover stop for the public transportation-inclined. Also, in a very walkable area--even at night--with surrounding business). This restaurant has a cute and inviting terrace area outside outfitted with umbrellas, but I preferred to sit inside to beat the heat and sit in the comfortable, spacious booths. I personally loved the dim mood lighting and oldies playlist, which I thought contributed to the unpretentious, retro cool vibe. They keep at just the right volume so that it's not obtrusive for conversation but also audible/enjoyable. There are electrical plugs near some of the seats and they're more than happy to accommodate you seating-wise to suit your needs (a boon for students like me, since I'm usually working on my laptop wherever I go). *Food/pricing: The pepperoni chips had a nice crispy feel/savory taste, and served as the perfect accompaniment to my cocktails (I tried different margarita flavors--passionfruit was my favorite). Portions of both items on the menu were good in my book. I was able to casually munch on the plate-full of pepperoni chips for a solid 3 hours and had felt a buzz even after just the first drink, unlike how happens in some places that water down their drinks/skimps on liquor. Prices were great (visited during happy hour Mon-Fri @ 5-7, appetizer was $6, as was each drink)--a rarity in the usually more expensive Brickell area! *Service/overall thoughts: The waiter Jorge, bartender, and hostess really made an effort to make their customers feel welcome and properly attended to. Pizza and meatballs were amazing as usual. Having been to Lucali at Miami Beach, which I believe they're affiliated with, I knew what to expect. My only complaint is that while there is the right hours of operations on here, the website has different hours and when we went they were still closed and had to wait for about 2 hrs. I was tremendously dissapointed by this, it seems that most of their pizzas had only pepperoni but for those of us who are not pepperoni lovers this is a great disappointment. The server was also very surprised by my questions when I asked, like if it was out of this world asking for ham or prosciutto on a pizza... I ended up ordering a pizza with arugula, mushrooms, cheese and onions and even though the quality was good, it was missing some short of meat. The pizza was loaded with pepperoni, but wish it had more artichoke. Didn't cAre much for the huge basil leaves, they came in a whole branCh and I had to cut off pieces so I can eat. The pizza tasted too salty in the beginning I thought it might have been the topping but I tasted the crust by itself and it was salty. Our second order was the six piece chicken wings with blue cheese on the side. It came after the pizza and it wasn't hot. It was warmish. Tasted good. We also got the cannoli, they were good too. If I had to rank this place it would be from the top 10, but would be in tenth place. Note: the sodas come almost unsweetened , but the server told us it is supposed to be a healthy choice, that fine we added some sugar . So happy we stumbled upon this place! Great spot to grab a group of friends and have a casual happy hour; they have specials on most drink types and food. The cocktails were actually some of the best I have had in that area, respect to DCPie! Wow the wings were delicious as well. The vibe was laidback and it has a chill atmosphere.
