He said that was "A GAMBLE" we took when we "ordered before they closed". He offered $25 for a future purchase. Then he tried to give a $50 credit which was less than the soggy slippery skinned wings and the missing mozzarella sticks. We won't be trusting the food here ever again! At this time, Westgate Pizza Bella has amazing wings and great Pizza with annual discount deals and better prices. I told him I have pics of the bad wings and proof of no mozz sticks on ring! I felt he did not care about our experience at all or that his business took money for uneatable and missing food. There was no apology or sincere promise to make things right. His concern was keeping our money! When I said I needed to do a review and post his response he replied --if you post anything, you're definitely not getting credit. I'm thinking no future credit is a favor to my family! I let him know the money doesn't matter to us. The aftermath and his response does. He earned a dispute with our credit card company, Better Business Bureau complaint, and an online review with pictures. I order from DC's minimally once a week and sometimes a couple times a week. The menu is vast, choices pretty much cover whatever you might be craving. Their pizza is excellent as are their wings. Too many mistakes. I will say that they have terrific pizza. That is the good part. However, they frequently make mistakes in food prep. For example we recently ordered meat ravioli. We stipulated not to put any cheese on the top. The order arrived (there were also other items in the order) and the ravioli had cheese on it. We had ordered using an app called "Slice". We called Slice customer service who said they would investigate and get back to us. We said we wanted a refund as everyone else was now eating their meals. Slice contacted the restaurant who said they don't issue refunds but would remake the order and expedite delivery. We were not at all happy with that resolution since everybody else was already eating their meals and it wasn't right to make the last person wait. After almost an hour the "expedited" order still had not arrived. We again contacted Slice customer service who again contacted the restaurant and the message we got was the restaurant apologizes but they got very busy. So much for expediting an order that they had messed up to begin with. That certainly should have taken precedence over new orders they might be dealing with. This was not the first time a mistake had been made by this restaurant. In the past parts of our orders have been missing for example . Also when you view their restaurant on the Slice app the restaurant always indicates an approximate delivery time. Without fail when you place an order you get an immediate order confirmation and then within seconds you get a follow up email that says the restaurant is very busy and delivery will be delayed beyond the initial time listed in the app. This is something that happens every single time we place an order with this restaurant so it would appear that they are intentionally listing a relatively short delivery time as enticement for you to place an order with them and without fail they extend the delivery time once you place it. This situation is disappointing since without the mistakes the food is very good but their no refund policy and lack of follow up to take care of orders that they have made mistakes on has caused us to decide not to order from them again. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap for lunch with no onions. I picked it up and drove back to my office to find out it was filled with tons of red onions, so I couldn't eat it. When I notified the owner of the issue he said I could bring it back and he'd remake it, but my lunch break was over and I couldn't go back. The order was placed through their website so there is no excuse for making it incorrectly, and customer service was terrible when I just wanted my money back. Holy crap was that tasty. The crust was a bit thick for my preference, but now that I know how good this stuff is, I can't wait until Passover is done so I can go back in for a proper slice. My thought is that when it's thrown back in the hot hot oven, the bottom crust will crisp up nicely and it may very well be the best pizza I've had in the area. On a personal note, I appreciate how haphazard the place looks on the inside. To say it's nothing fancy is a gross exaggeration. To say the least, I am very picky about my pizza. Everything has to be good from the sauce to the dough to the toppings. DC's pizza is my go to place for perfect pizza. I drive twenty minutes into Albany to get my pizza from DC's when I have several pizza joints in my area. None compare so it is well worth the drive. My personal favorite is the square pizza with a thicker crust. Love the veggie pizza because they onions and peppers are sliced think and cooked. Hate hunks of barely cooked veggies on my pizza. My one star rating is do to the fact that they charge so much for wings. I don't mind paying almost 20 dollars for 10 wings because they are good. my problem is my last 5 orders of wings have either been missing the extra sauce that they charge you for or no sauce on the wings. I just don't understand when you tell them on the phone the way you want your food and it continues never to be right. please fix these issues or I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Came in at dinner time, ordered over the phone, while I stood outside. I Ordered a large cheese with mushrooms for $21 (yikes). Spoke to the cashier directly (masked) at the door--she said it would be 15 minutes and she'd bring the pizza out front. 45 minutes later she pokes her head out. "Did you order a mushroom pizza?" I said "Yes. Did it just come out". She answers "Yes". I'm handed a pizza that was luke warm--likely sitting on a counter or wherever they sit pizzas. I'm not given paper plates or napkins--no apology for the pizza being 30 minutes late. I'm reasonable--20 or 25 minutes--I can accept 10 extra minutes. An extra half hour because the staff forgot to poke their head out the door--Nah--not going back. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Most other places that tell me 15 minutes for a pizza have the pizza in my hands, hot from the oven so I have to let it cool to bite it etc--pretty standard pizza restaurant behavior. No they were not overly busy. Most reviews on the google site for this pizza restaurant have the manager replying and explaining things to customers who cited problems. Glad to see replies from the manager but I'm beginning to think that all customer complaints are pretty pertinent. I'd just go elsewhere and get yourself a hot pizza at a better price (all the other places aren't jacking prices up wildly due to "Covid". Certainly at $21 one should get a HOT pizza and if it's running 30 minutes late-perhaps an apology --a free drink? I was sitting out in front of the building just a few feet from the front door. We've ordered from DC's on multiple occasions and haven't had problems prior to tonight. We recieved the wrong order over an hour late. When we called the woman on the phone was short with us and rude. They delivered the correct order almost 3 hours later. The delivery driver was loud and very rude to my partner and demanded the wrong order back. We gave the order back and the delivery driver left whispering obscenities under his breath. OMG That's good! I've had many items from the menu (all takeout) and this is by far the best Eggplant Parmigiana I have found in the Capital Region. The portions are super and the staff is friendly. By far our entire family's favorite place for pizza in Albany. They also offer a variety of items such as subs, salads, pasta dinners, and deserts. There is something for everyone. Called and they basically didn't care that they absolutely screwed this up. This has happened twice at this restaurant now through GrubHub. Either it was very late or never came. I was recently in here for a couple slices after a UAlbany basketball game. I remember in grad school, this was the default place where pizza came from when the school ordered it. And it was always wonderful. Even though it was typically the 24 sqaure cut boring pies, it always seemed to be done just right. I think their sauce is really top notch. It fills the pizza out, and just plain old tastes good. The plain slices I got after the game weren't the best, but they had probably been sitting out a while. If I was going on those alone, I'd give it 3 stars. But since I've had their pizza plenty other times, it's definitely worth 4. On an aside, there is very minimal seating in the place. And their prices are extrememly reasonable. read more
