I heard nothing but good things about this place and its wings. Stopped by on a weekday after trying to. find the place (it was dark) and there was no sign or lights outside. Ordered 10 wings (5 garlic and parmesan and 5 Lemmon pepper.) & a 1/2 order of mozzarella sticks. When I got home, I tried the sticks first, similar to the ones from jack in the box... The wings were so oily. The skin was not crispy, it was very chewy Honestly, I was very disappointed. The celery looked like limp green onions, old. I am very disappointed in my food last night. I have been going to this place for years. Food is always amazing but last night horrible:( I ordered the Turkey grinder comes with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon an italian dressing onion but I said no onion. The turkey was not good an no bacon an a Dab of italian dressing. I ordered fried pickles and seems like they changed their batter. My biggest complaint I ordered a Philly wrap with onion rings. Well they were onions with a hint of batter like they threw some on there n fried them. Just lazy they did not put them in batter at all. I was way to tired to call them or go back. Made to feel welcome from the moment I walked in the unassuming front entrance, greeted me with a smile and a menu and asked me what I wanted to drink right out of the gate. Was actually placing a take out order, but still provided me with a water while I looked over the menu, so that was a nice touch. Order a variety of wing options and the food was a home run as it came out quick, well packaged with no spills and was still hot when I got it home. Everyone enjoyed the various wing flavors and I thought the service was fantastic from start to finish. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu and enjoy more of the hospitality as this place is the definition of don't judge a book by it's cover, as it may not look it from the outside, but it is 5 star through and through. I wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was very average wings. Having been a loyal fan for Moosehead for many years we finally decided to try something new and recommended by our friend. Not impressed Visited dd Peckers about a week ago and while nice, not outstanding. My wife had the Chicken Philly and while not great, nothing to write home about. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with the Blazing Sauce. You would expect with blazing, it would be very hot but not the case. Never once had to wipe my brow from sweat and a good medium hot at best. Still a nice place to go and a dive restaurant but still a good option. Just not a first choice. read more

Cool little place in a slightly industrial type area. Not much from the outside but very warm old school tavern feel inside. Nice bar area, some tables and a couple booths. They specialize in wings and have several sauces to choose from. They also have some sandwiches and salads. Full bar service and a few beer taps also. The service was pretty straight forward. Nothing wowing me but nothing wrong. The food was very good. I had the chicken philly with house made chips. The sandwich was lightly grilled which made the bread so good. This thing was loaded with chicken and cheese. So good and fresh tasting hot off the grill. The chips were cooked perfectly. Crisp and not greasy. These days they seem to stop their dine-in service around 8, doing take-out only until they close at 9; this is frustrating because their website says they're open 'til midnight. The hubby ordered 5 honey hot and 5 hot. He tried all 4 and the hot was his favorite. The lemon pepper was good but not a dry rub. The wings were medium- to medium small size. I saw they were one of the few spots in Charlotte that had fried zucchini and went straight there. I had their basic cheeseburger and subbed the fried zucchini for my side. All their burgers are double patties and seem a bit expensive. I didn't know that and still devoured it all. The burger was seasoned well and completely cooked, something you'd think was basic but is not. The fried zucchini was also tasty. They need a really hot sauce though for customers who like heat on the side of dry wings. The Phillies cheese steak roll was super soft, the steak was decent, not the best cut on a Phili I've had but good, not too tough, not super tender. Never f'n again! Stopped in for a beverage and an order of 15 wings to go. While there - we witnessed a man behind the bar jump up and stand on the actual bar while trying to get the remote to work on the TVs. I commented to husband "I hope someone wipes off the bar that he was standing on." Well, I never saw that happen while we sat there waiting on our wings. I can't figure out why some restaurants sell wings in groups of 5. Newsflash: each chicken wing has a flat and a drumette - so that would mean the wings should be sold in even numbers: 6, 8, 10, 12.... you get the point. Don't bother ordering different flavors of wings - we ordered three diff flavors and amazingly enough, they all tasted just alike. What kills me is the way the three flavors were packaged. They were in the styrofoam box - each flavor of 5 wings was separated by a piece of paper wrap. Typically, this wouldn't be too bad, however, celery was placed with each flavor of wings - floating in grease! What peckerhead does that?
