This morning, we decided to return here for breakfast and were not disappointed. I had some french toast called Banana Frankie and words cannot begin to describe what my taste buds are experiencing. If I were on death row, this may be the dish that I'd have as a last meal... OMGOSH, this is so delicious. Eve had Veggie Omelet and was experiencing a burst of flavors herself... she commented on the fresh ingredients, how they must have been harvested locally this very morning or something like that. She wants to meet the chef who crafted these dishes... I wouldn't mind shaking his hand. Wow. The waiter Mark did not miss a beat... my coffee cup never went below halfway point. His service and skills demonstrate his experience. I'm glad we returned for breakfast and encourage you to try it out too... read more

This diner was dead a few years ago and failed and failed with many different owners. Unitl It became DD's diner. Ever since its been DD its been absolutely amazing. Ive been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have never had a bad meal there. I rate the onion rings a 10 out of a 10. Cant get enough. Highly recommend DD's read more

We go here after school events because they can handle a large crowd. The salads are generally very good and nicely sized. Tonight I got the skirt steak salad. It would've been amazing if I had ordered it medium as I had thought I should. Instead I ordered medium well and it was crunchy and tough. The pulled pork sandwich is fantastic. And I am a snap about coleslaw and I love their coleslaw here. The angry shrimp salad was is also good. And you will find a legit eggs Benedict here. The menu is gigantic and usually a diner can't make everything well but most things here are above par. Good burgers. Tasty fries and especially the sweet potato fries. read more

Update 4/4/2018: DD's is all about the waiter. The food is consistently good! Came here for breakfast while my car was having some work done next door. Today, the waiter was very responsive, brought coffee right away and the food (as usual) was excellent. Good food...service was very poor when I went there for Saturday brunch. I suspect it was because i was a solo customer but it's not acceptable. I had to wait for service, then waited for coffee, then when the food arrived, there were no utensils on the table; and of course the server didn't notice. First time trying this place and very impressed. Had the Highlander, a fresh take on eggs Benedict featuring white bean and artichoke puree with cilantro hollandaise sauce. Looking forward to trying the red quinoa salad, and any of the Mexican dishes which actually use guacamole and chorizo! Updated: a few years in, its lost a bit of its shine. Maybe they've just got a new cook, but the pulled pork sandwich literally looked like barf on a plate. It tasted okay, but it was glaringly obvious the chef had never actually eaten this before, or they never would have served his version. This place is a joke and going downhill fast. I ordered food, they told me it would be 15 mins- so I went in 15 mins and they said it wasn't ready yet. My sister paid and waited. After another 15 minutes of waiting I finally asked what was taking so long. IT HAD BEEN SITTING ON THE HOSTESS STAND THE WHOLE TIME ITS JUST THAT NO ONE IS CAPABLE OF DOING THEIR JOB. Once they realized this the food on the bottom was actually COLD. the woman was actually annoyed at ME and did not offer to reimburse us at all- not even for the cold one. I have tried to like DDs dinner. I have never given a 1 star review but here it goes. Do not order from them. This has happened more than once and I don't seem to learn. We put in an order for delivery at 600. They said expect around 745. It is now almost 8 and we have no idea where our food is. In addition the manager on the phone was so rude more than once. If you are part of a customer service industry you should not give your customers attitude if they have been waiting on their food for over an hour and a half. read more

Shockingly good diner food. The early reviews led me to this place for takeout late on a Saturday night. We tried some diner staples, like customized disco fries (minus gravy, plus bacon), chicken Caesar salad, fried mozzarella "triangles", and chicken fingers, which were probably pre-frozen, but legitimately some of the best I've ever had. Expensive prices for cheap diner food. The manager has an extreme power complex and disclosed to my table that because our waiter made a mistake that it would be coming out of their pocket. I ordered the BBQ ribs off the starters because all of the other options were extremely price inflated. The food comes out and it's the "rib dinner" which comes with 2 sides that I had no appetite for. I ask the waiter if this is different than the $10 starter and he said yes and doesn't know what to do from there. Manager comes over and try's to act like it's my fault , we go back and forth over who is to blame, then finally says that this mistake will be coming out of your waiters pocket as if he was trying to guilt me into keeping and paying for a dish I had no desire in eating. Any normal restaurant would write it off as an accident and proceed. Instead I got to leave with a disgust in my mouth and feeling horrible for my waiter. The ribs tasted terrible as well, only ate one before they cleared my plate off the table and never bothered to ask if I still wanted to order something else. read more

I came here with my girlfriend this morning, this being our first time. We were given our choice on where to sit, and was greeted immediately upon sitting with water, and a fresh pot of coffee. After a quick look through the menu, I went with eggs benedict, and she with the cinnamon pancakes. While we waited, I got a chance to take in the atmosphere. It feels like a modernized 50s joint. I love it. The food arrived within 10 minutes, and I thought the plating was done well. The food looked fresh and appetizing. After the ceremonial instagraming of said plating ,that we all seem to do now was finished, we both dug into our delicious meals. And they were delicious. My eggs were poached perfectly, as if Alton Brown himself cooked them. The English muffin felt fresh, as if it were baked this morning. The hollandaise sauce made the dish. There was a modest portion of home fries on the plate, with onions and peppers,and that's exactly the portion I prefer. My girlfriend's pancakes looked wonderful, and by the moans of joy coming from her side of the table, I could see they tasted the same. The serving size was large, and she could barely get through half of it. Her bacon was slightly crisp, and freshly cooked. It did not look reheated. Our server came by multiple times to see if we were ok, and offered to refill our water and coffee each time. I did not feel rushed, as if they wanted to turn a table, just that they cared about our dining experience. This is definitely going to be a regular place for us when it comes to wanting diner food. If you ask me, 'DD' stands for D-licious and D-lectible. Hands down this is my favorite diner in Ossining, if not all of westchester. My family eats here at least once a week, and I've never had a reason to complain. From the angry shrimp salad to the duck & mushroom truffle Mac and cheese, this place has it all. Came to this establishment last night with my mother and cousin and had a great experience. I ordered the chopped salad and it tasted great. The portion was big. Service was good. Our server was very nice. We ordered three desserts to go: carrot cake for mom, plain cheesecake for my cousin and chocolate cheesecake for me. Sat down to eat my cheesecake today and it tasted okay. I reached the middle of the cheesecake and found MOLD! Yes! MOLD! Blue green fuzzy thing in the middle of a brown and white dessert! That is extremely disgusting and there's no reason why a restaurant should be selling moldy items unless its bleu cheese. This is unsettling and unacceptable! I really wanted to like this place but the fact that they sell moldy chocolate cheesecake has earned them ZERO stars in my book. read more

the food is actually really good but I have yet to get an order that was entirely correct. I don't think that I have ever been met with an establishment that cares less about their mistakes, and not small ones. I'm not particularly picky and when I order a BLT with no mayo it is like a happy surprise when it is correct (not a surprise I have ever gotten from D&D though) What I am referring to is pancakes and sausage with no sausage or a corned beef reuben with pastrami. And I understand that mistakes happen at times, but they are less than cordial in fixing them and more often then not refuse. If you do get take out or delivery my advise is to check it thoroughly before leaving or letting the driver go and even then there is about a 75% chance that you are lit of luck read more

Great food, too bad the servers are absolutely terrible. Thought it was just one server with a nasty attitude but then went back with family and different server was also unpleasant. And the burger and fries arrived cold and soggy and not acceptable for the $30 price tag at the end of the order. They must have cooked the food and left it out waiting for a driver. We love this place! We live in town and have been several times. The food is always well prepared, the staff is attentive and curteous, and the menu is a refreshing step above regular diner food.
