The flavors are amazing! There are 3 chefs from different regions so it's a fusion of tastes. I would recommend the carne asada or the chicken medallions. The chicken was juicy, smokey and perfectly portioned over a cranberry rice. Everything was done on the grill so it had a nice smokey flavor. Margaritas were strong and good. We were on vacation and went here with a friend who lives there. She raved about it and how she had never had a bad meal. Sadly, this was not the case on our visit and the worst part was her embarrassment over the whole affair. Service was terrible. Of our three orders, two came out cold.....when they finally arrived almost an hour after placing the order and after a table seated later recieved theirs. We actually had to ask where our meal was and the waiter said he'd check, but never came back to give us an update, just came back about 10 minutes later with our orders. Also, the roasted vegetables were charred but not cooked....essentially raw Brussel Sprouts. Octopus was coated in a bbq sauce, masking the actual taste. The waiter seldom checked on us so we had fewer drinks than we would have otherwise. The only high point was the mussel appetizer that was spot on. To top it all off the waiter let me know three times as I was paying the bill that I had failed to leave a tip on my credit card. I acknowledged each time that I was aware of that. read more

There are a lot of good restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, but thisone is at the top of my list. We went here twice during our 2 week stay. The service is excellent. We had the butterflied red snapper and the flavor was so good. The baby back ribs are a hit also. The courtyard is very tranquil and you can actually have a conversation and be heard. We highly recommend this place for an excellent meal. Top notch! read more

My wife and I stopped in one night and I enjoyed one of their cigars from the shop inside the restaurant that also sells chocolate and coffee. The atmosphere was very chill. The restaurant itself is Mexican with an upscale modern flare. We returned today to have breakfast and try the local grown coffee. My wife ordered the Matcha Gluten Free pancakes to try and we each also ordered omelettes which came with beans and fruit. The coffee was terrific. Very strong with a robust flavor. The food was excellent. my wife was very impressed with the GF pancakes which I also helped her eat and wow, you'd never know they were gluten free! The manager, Ivan is very hospitable and helpful. It was important to my wife to have a good cup of coffee and Ivan remembered this fact. On Sundays they have an all inclusive buffet which unfortunately we missed during this vacation. We highly recommend giving this place a try while you're in town. read more

The food and drinks are AMAZING. This was hands down the best restaurant that we went to in Puerto Vallarta. We had the tuna and the ribeye, shared the house salad and grilled squid. Someone at a nearby table ordered the grilled octopus which looked great. Everything was fresh, the service was great, the chef checked on us several times. Let me start by saying I've come to this place the last three years and considered it one of my favourites.. tonight I brought my parents had the yellow fin tuna tostados which is excellent. It was tonight and the ceaser was good too. I ordered last time ribeye which was phenomenal. So this was the point of this trip. My girlfriend ordered lamb osso bucco which is very good. My ribeye comes out Luke warm at best so I think it was resting a bit while the others were cooked. Keep in mind sending it back isn't easy as it's a wood fires grill so it takes a while to cook. It's a very thin cut also which made me nervous it would be over the med rare I ordered. It was more like med well . The one waiter came and asked how things were I said the steak was over and showed him. He said sorry walked away. Keep in mind I don't complain at restaurants I just won't go back. Our waiter came and I showed him the steak he said I need to talk to owner about that. He came back and offered dessert. The steak was $420 peso. I said no because I don't eat dessert. The bill came and I figured they would politely discount or make the steak better but they did neither. I left very frustrated on a night I was looking forward to in a place that I've enjoyed. Unfortunately I won't be back because they had a chance to make it right and failed at that too. read more

First the good. The first time we went into this calm, relaxing restaurant, it was very pleasant. Ivan, the manager, came up and introduced himself and even took our order. Everything came back perfect. We each had a grilled fish sandwich with fries. It was delicious. Our first question when we sit down is if the beers are really cold. There's nothing worse than a tepid beer. They were. After our first beer, we ordered another. They didn't tell us it wasn't cold. They put it in an ice bucket warm and took the caps off. Well, they weren't cold at all, not even cool. That's okay, at least the meal was good. We craved that same grilled fish sandwich a few days later because it had lots of fresh grilled dorado with grilled chopped asparagus in it. When we got there to sit down, the waiter kept trying to push his "fish of the day tuna," which we don't care for. I think he was a little upset that we didn't order the special tuna of the day, but we really wanted that fish sandwich. The sandwich came with the fish in about 6 small pieces that kept sliding out of the bun and they left off the grilled chopped asparagus, and the worst was the fish had all those black patches running through it. When I cook fish at home, I take that black off or don't use it because it tastes horrible. My spouse's was exactly the same. They were inedible. Oh, the waiter argued with us too telling us we couldn't get fries with the sandwich. We told him we got them when Ivan took our order just a few days ago, and he said, "Okay, then." Anyway, the whole second experience trumped our first experience so we won't go back. It's not worth wondering if we'll get a good meal or an inedible meal. We just paid the bill, tipped and left. Oh, I forgot to mention the calamari appetizer we ordered before the meal. OMG, the WORST fried calamari we've ever had, hands down. It was that thick batter to where there was a little bitty dot of calamari under all that batter. It stunk like it was very old too. We tried it and it tasted spoiled. We told the waiter, and he just took it away and charged us for it anyway. So telling them the problem doesn't always mean there's a solution. Sometimes they just don't care. We're very quiet people and are not demanding. We just paid and left to never return. Take your chances at this restaurant. read more

I'm pretty picky and don't give 5 stars often, but this one is definitely a 5 star experience! We started with a margarita that was just right and not too sweet, not too tart. Fresh ingredients. The guacamole was spot on. Sometimes there are too many ingredients. This was simple and freshly made and the avocado was the star as it should be. Tasty light homemade tortilla strips accompanied the guac. Next we had Stuffed Caribe. Caribe peppers are yellow and usually mild. They were stuffed with a delicious shrimp grilled with perfect Mexican spices and then the pepper is sliced. This was one of the highlights of the mean and something I'm sure I will order every time I return. The fresh fish was Mahi and it was so good. Wrapped in a banana leaf with some seasoning and vegetables inside and grilled over mesquite. This is one of the best main courses I've had in Puerto Vallarta. It was served with rice and a small salad. I can't wait to go back and try other things like the ribs and steaks that looked and smelled so good. Everything is cooked over mesquite wood and has so much flavor. From the time we arrived until the time we left, we were treated so well. Our waiter, Marcial, is also the manager. What a great guy. He took such good care of us and shared some wonderful stories but never overstayed his welcome. His family owns the restaurant as well as our favorite coffee house in town.
