    Grilled Salmon

Moderately priced Argentinian restaurant. Nice place to grab lunch and sit on their patio. I got the salmon and it was pretty good! Service was great.

Wanted to try some Argentinean food while in town. Service was outstanding. Super friendly staff. Quick service and great location, off 5th Avenue. The parrillada (grill) for $1200 MX pesos was enough for 3 people. It was very good and we liked everything in it, except I thought the blood sausage (Morcilla) was only average. The choripán (Argentine style chorizo) was good but did not really come with the authentic bread, like other establishments. I felt the chorizo lacked a bit of flavor. Overall, very good and recommend it. Good prices and affordable.

    Shangri-la Milenesa

The shangri-la Milenesa was insanely good. It's juicy steak breaded and friend. And then served with chipotle sauce, onions, cheese, and bacon. The caramelized onions play well with the chipotle. The steak was well executed. The portion is massive. This is a really unique and delicious dish.

Initially wanted to go to the wine bar across the street, but found out they're still closed for renovations. Oh well! Checked out the menu and definitely wanted to get a steak, so De Local to the rescue. Ordered the skirt steak (perfectly medium rare) with some mashed potatoes, while my friend got an empanada and the tuna carpaccio. All the dishes we tried were delicious, and their awesome servers completed the experience. Will be back!

This is a small moderately-priced Argentinean restaurant in Quinta Avenida. You are served a generous amount of complimentary bread with chimichurri sauce. I ordered a vegetarian burger made with lentils. It was good but the patty didn't reach the edges of the bread. The bread was dry too. The burger comes with French fries. Paula was my waitress and she was amiable.

We visit this place whenever we visit playa del carmen. The great pizza wonderful people .. great view of 5th ave ..

Great local spot for quick bites in Playa Del Carmen. Empanada's we're great (the chicken is amazing!) ambience was nice for a date night. Staff was very respectful towards my boyfriend and I.

Elote, caprese, spicy meat, and one other empanada!

Very nice outdoor scene. Also some of the best empanadas that I've eaten (and I've been to nearly half of Latin America)!! They aren't fried, so you' don't feel sick afterwords. They also have the "De Local" salad which is enough for two people and very very delicious! Service and location are nice as well. They don't try to persuade you on the streets simply because they don't have to!

The place serves Argentinian style Empanadas which tasted great. Got a chicken, beef, and mixed Empanada and they all came in different shapes but all stuffed with delicious meat. The sauces they provide are tangy and one of them is quite spicy. The servers were very kind! The drinks were also great. Tried a gin and tonic and the sangria!

Beautiful place to eat love the ambiance but the food was mediocre. The family order empanadas, pizzas and pasta this was our first meal in PDC mmm not my favorite for pasta the noodles I think were handmade but weren't rolled properly so they had this strange chewy texture. The sauce tasted similar to a canned sauce so I can't say I'd recommend eating any of the pastas. My empanada was a little toasty but I can looked past that but it was dry and doughy as well. The pizza on the other had was rolled well and had a good crust not fantastic but good. The server didn't seem to bust but he was struggling keeping up with our needs I waited for a half an hour to order a lemonade into the meal and finally had to give up on it. Overall I'd give this spot a 50/50 depending on what you order and maybe time of day.

    'De Local' pizza

Piola may have the most well-known pizza in Playa, but De Local could seriously give it a run for their money. The namesake 'De Local' pizza comes with chorizo, onions and a hearty helping of chilis on a perfectly charred, buttery crust that would bring an Italian to tears. While their small pizzas are more expensive than Piola (~160 vs. ~110 pesos), the large pizzas are actually cheaper! If you have three people it's a steal to split, and you'll walk away stuffed with leftovers. They also provide some fantastic bread and homemade dips that are soooooo good I practically begged them for more!

After looking at the menu I decided to get a chicken milanesa provolone style with mash potatoes. I also got fries with eggs on the side. (I saw so many tasty pictures on Instagram..it was hard to decide what style milanesa I wanted) The provolone style milanesa has mozzarella and melted provolone cheese, tomatoe sauce, and oregano. The milanesa was super tasty and crunchy. The combination of the fries, egg, and milanesa in one bite is amazing!!! You have to try it!!! The one person milanesa was a good size for me. I eat a lot so I was so excited when it came out! Plenty of food. If you have a small appetite you could probably share the one person milanesa. If you are okay with sharing your food I believe the one person plate for two people is enough. I ate half the milanesa and took half home and ate it a couple hours later. Very good!!! Such an amazing meal!!! In total I got a maracuya mojito, chicken provolone milanesa, side of fries and eggs for a very reasonable price. I cannot wait to come back!!!

Once, out of curiosity, we ordered the veggie empanadas with the chimichuri sauce and they were sooooo good!! Perfectly fried, fresh and hot and many different fillings. They do have quite a few vegetarian items on the menu. But we didn't get a chance to try them all. The bartender would make any drink we ask for. We asked him to make something with maracuya (passion fruit) and he made this delicious and strong Maracuya Mezcalita. We really enjoyed hanging out at the bar by the pool here!

A nice spot with good food, teas, and snacks. We had a dulce de leche merengue dessert "sandwich" and a couple of empanadas. The empanadas were fried and served up hot. The owners are from Argentina and the menu is written in both Spanish and English. The restaurant serves Argentine wine and brunch/lunch and pastries. The specials board displayed outside the restaurant of daily offerings is what initially drew me in. We weren't very hungry but wanted to sample what they had so we opted to try two empanadas, hot green tea, and this dulce de leche filled meringue cookie. The empanadas were served iced and had a good amount of filling. Heavily fried, the meat one was pleasantly spicy and the cheese and pepper (very interesting pepper I can't recall the unusual name) was very good as well. The tea was brewed fresh and made iced to order. The "cookie" we had was light and although the filling was decadent, I don't believe it was over-the-top sweet. It was cool to see other desserts on the counter which we were unfamiliar with. It took restraint not to order more sweets. The English speaking diners in there claimed the food was delicious and I thought their meals all looked excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. I would return here again if in the area.
