Needed a quote for suspension repair and what Toyota gave me $3,900 was more than to say time to just buy a new car. Brett however gave me a better "Honest" lower quote $1,700 and even installed the aftermarket fender liner i purchased separately. I always used to go here, then started having problems with the tires they sold. Good Year to be exact. The worker was so rude to me, I truly felt it was because I was a woman, like I didn't know what I was talking about. Having replaced 10 tires in 3 years I was over Good Year, Good Year did give me $500 off the cost of new tires, kept on getting dry rot. They should have been free! I bought the warranty the first time around so could not change out the type of tire I was buying. Anyhow, spending $1300 for 4 tires the worker says to me, well they are not the best tires. Being cocky was the worse thing you could say to me. I said why sell them then? Beware if you go there and you're a woman! read more

These guys are setting the bar high in OF. I have nothing but great things to say and if I could give 6 stars, I would. We live in the city and my pregnant wife got a nail in her tire on the way to the south burbs for a meeting. I yelped away and found De Re, which was close to her meeting spot. The manager (wish I knew his name) took care of her right away, quoted her a fair price (no shady up-sells), and even drove her to her meeting with time to spare. An hour later we had a well-patched tire and a happy wife. She said they were some of the nicest mechanics she's ever met. Stay classy, De Re. Nice work. read more

This is THE BEST place to take your car. Dead battery on the coldest day of the year. They came out, towed my car, fixed my battery and the price was lower than quoted. Had my tires replaced here. Very nice people With that said, one word to describe this place, expensive. I went in there for an advertised $79.99 alignment. I figured the worst it could be would be $99.99 for all four tires. NOPE! They called me after an hour saying it would be a minimum of $199.99 and that is, if all goes well. I guess I'll go somewhere else. read more

This is the best place to bring your automobile if you like flushing money down the toilet. I brought my car in for an estimate on getting my front brakes done and two new front tires. The price they quoted was $1500, over 1000 for the brakes alone!!! Not only did they tell me I needed pads and rotors, which I expected, but also calipers. I told them forget it and then they charged me $24 for the estimate, which had not been discussed beforehand. I brought my car to a mechanic recommended by a family friend. He took a look, told me the calipers were fine (the pins were frozen but he fixed that) and charged me $270 for pads, rotors and labor. TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY, vs. their over 1000 dollar estimate. Major scam artists, stay away. read more

Performance Test Really !!!! Man are there any reputable car places in the Oak Forest area anymore. Just Left De Re Auto and Tire and they wanted to charge me 99.99 to do an engine performance test (probably just connect to OBD scanner) before even doing the repair (which they didn't mention when I asked for estimate when I made the appt.) (price of test does not go towards repair) Just another way to get more money like the repair cost isn't high enough.. In most cases when you have no idea what is wrong (Ok, Maybe) but my van has been running at about 158-162 degrees and heat has been on the cool side. My engine light came on and my car tells me the error code which was P1028 which is the thermostat malfunction..... I gave them what they needed to know. So I asked if they could just fix the thermostat and he said fine but your light might still be on... REALLY !!! you wont even hook up and OBD reader to clear the code !!! Its not like its the first time I have been in there shop..Took my key back and said "Have a nice day", PT Barnum said there's one born every minute. I AM DONE WITH De Re and I suggest you stay away also..... . read more

I had a front end alignment done by the DeRe Oak Forest shop about 4 weeks ago. The work was great. A minor issue arose 4 weeks later regarding this alignment that could have been caused by me...or possibly been an oversight by the shop 4 weeks ago. I called, expecting the posibility of some haggling over responsibility. No such thing. Carrie and Brett stepped right up and told me to bring the vehicle back in and they would go over the work one more time. I was there the next morning, the car was put back up on the alignment rack, and all my concerns were handled and resolved right here, right now.....no charge. 5 stars for you, gents. read more

I brought my car in for an oil change and was told I needed $500 of brake work as well as a new battery. I took my car to another mechanic, who fixed the brakes for $150. I still have the same battery and it continues to work fine. That was 1 and 1/2 years ago. read more
