I went here for a root canal and a crown because I had a tooth that broke off. I spent $4000 and the crown literally broke in half in less than a month! Terrible quality. I had to go back and go through the whole process again. In addition, they would not clean my teeth unless I paid them another $600. I had dental insurance and I asked them for the cleaning that my insurance covered and they absolutely refused to do it. I left and never went back. I went to UT Dentistry where I get much better service at a fraction of the cost. These people focus on up-selling you and charging way more than the services they offer are worth. The receptionists are friendly enough (they are badly overworked during the rush times) and the periodontal care has been excellent. Like many dentistry offices today, they are a bit aggressive when it comes to recommending treatments. However, they do work with many different insurance types. Amazing staff who paid close attention to detail. I had x-rays, cleaning and whitening and all staff was professional and attentive. Got sent to this place through the VA voucher. First experience here. The receptionist wanted me to sign up for their online system. The user agreement states in bold "by using this system you are solely responsible for any data breaches or mishandling of your information by continuing to use this system [not this office or system ]". I disagreed with that policy and then the receptionist asked me to sign the trackpad agreeing to the "HIPPA" I asked if I can see it and she shakes her head no, I said without me reading it, I won't sign it. She printed it and I signed it. Then she asked me for my full social security number: either verbally with patients one foot away or write it down and she said she would shred it. I wrote it down. I'm use to reading user agreements and this one puts all information security breach blame on the user. Heres to hoping that my information is safe at this place. I would give ZERO stars if I could! They STOLE $2700 FROM ME! DO NOT PREPAY THEM!!! The first time I came here (for a procedure on my uppers) I problems at all. I put a portion down, they did the work, and as per a prearranged payment plan, I paid off the balance over over1 -2 years. So I came back for the same procedure on my lowers. I prepaid $2700 they then started giving me cop out excuses not to do the work. When I would suggest a solution to whatever "problems" they were claiming, they just had another excuse. Ultimately they did nothing and refused to return my money. Eventually they agreed to return a portion of it but I never saw a dime. Apparently they like ripping off people who are disabled and barely surviving on SSI. They obviously have no scruples. I will never come in to such money again. To add insult to injury, this was every penny I inherited from my fathers death. I guess I'm going to be ugly and gross with my putrid mouth until I get to join my beloved father. I can't wait since I'm so ugly and they STOLE ALL MY HOPE! I HATE THEM for what they did to me! NOBODY deserves the kind of treatment I got from these cruel and evil thieves! read more

I was sent there by the VA dental community care for several root canals. The following week needed to go to the VA emergency walk in dental because one of the root canals chipped and broke off. The VA dentist that saw me was very upset that they did the root canal on one of the teeth when it was not savable due to the cavity being below the gum line. Then in October I started getting phone messages and texts about them needing personal information and social security because the VA denied their claim to pay them. I called VA dental community care and was instructed not to give out my information and to let them know that if they had any questions to call them. When I tried to tell the receptionist Lydia what the VA dental community care instructed me to tell them she raised her voice and got very rude with me and said that they would just bill me. I called the National VA Community Care claim department and told them of the situation they looked up the claim and said that they haven't even filed anything yet and that they were lying to me. The National VA Community Care then called them personally to rectify the issue for me. read more

Updating my review. I no longer recommend going here. I gave it 2 stars because Carolyn the hygienist was really a nice person. Dr Edward's seems like a kind person. However this location has gone downhill considerably. Bob the previous office manager who convinced me to return is no longer there. All the good people who were here have gone to Steven's Ranch Modern Dentistry and followed one of the previous doctors (Dr. Alston is amazing). They were supposed to call me about correcting a crown that was done incorrectly. Said I had to see that one doctor and he was only there one weekend a month because he's the one who was "getting paid". They had another doctor on staff but would not see me. Well I went in for a cleaning which went fine. The dentist Dr. Melina Fattah came in after X-rays and told me I had a cavity in a tooth that had a crown. She came if with the costs of the new Crown. It would cost me over $1000 with insurance. I told her I wanted a second opinion since I not had a cavity in 30 years. I got a second opinion from 09 Dental from a dentist I used a long time ago. He told me I do not have a cavity in my tooth. I was appalled by this news. This dentist is also had her two dogs running around in this office which I felt was unhealthy for people who could be allergic to pet danger. read more

So quite honestly, going to the dentist was very low on my priority list. I knew I needed to go, however. I had a dental practice I was going to - but for reasons not important to this review - I decided to leave that practice. When I came to De Zavala Modern Dentistry, they were the kindest people I have ever met. I felt like I was getting the best possible care - from innovative x-rays, to finding out how to take really great care of my teeth and gums. I did not feel that there pricing was out of line - as some of the reviews indicated. But I respect all opinions. I really do think reviewing a dental practice is very subjective. I am no exception. But I will tell you, I feel like I am cared for. I feel like if there were an emergency, I would be a priority, and I liked feeling like a staff of dentists and office staff were so incredibly nice to me. I really care about this practice - and hope to have a very long relationship with them. read more

Avoid this provider. Slick and modern on the outside, nice new equipment and friendly staff, but predatory and vindictive in the payment process. Was following my payment plan, and fulfilled the requirements, thought everything was good and then get a last minute demand letter ONE DAY before they said it was being forwarded to collections. Tried to go online to pay the $70 balance they said I owed, and the website doesn't recognize the account number ON THE LETTER they just sent. I won't go back. I'll stick with an established dental professional with a trustworthy staff and reliable billing. This location also only has a hygienist that works 2 days a week, and they had to cancel 2 of my routine cleaning appointments because he couldn't come in the day of my appointment. Stick with a seasoned practice that knows what they are doing, not a puppy mill for newly minted hygienists and dentists that are controlled by an uber-aggressive billing machine. read more

The last thing that we want is to go to the dentist especially at 50. I had to go it had been way to long and I new for health reasons it was time. Right off the bat I met Nathaniel .. he goes by Nathen but I like Nathaniel more becouse that's my sons name.. he checked my network and once it was all clear made my appointment. When I arrived I felt at ease right away I had a great and personal experience just in conversation with BoB and Nathaniel about thanksgiving. I then had my X-rays done by Jasmine who has to be by far the sweetest tech I have ever met, caring gentle, funny and quick! After my initial exam Dr. Thomas advised me of my options and went over the procedure step by step because I who don't speak dental would understand. I appreciated that. Then comes cost. Bob came in and he explained my options they were not cheap by any means but really necessary I honestly didn't really know what to do. They offer financing that made all this so easy and quick, with just a small application I was approved and the next day I had my procedure...ON A Saturday how awesome is that! Let me just say that Jasmine and Dr. Thomas were amazing! Jasmine actually comforted this big baby through the whole thing from distracting me to comforting words. My final cleaning was done by a really nice and patient dental hygienist very professional. 3 hours later I was complete and will never forget my experience. When you call after they close, there's an answering machine that keeps you on hold with a promise they'll get to you. They won't. You can stay on hold listening to that same music interrupted only with a woman promising they'll get to you after the unexpected call volume is taken care of. I love this clinic. They take their time to do a very thorough examination. They are very honest. The Dr takes the proper steps through your care. Dr. Thomas does really care and is upfront. They have multiple specialist within their clinic. I really love this as it makes it very convenient. They have perio,oral surgery,and endodontist. They offer payment options as well which allowed me to get my treatment done. They try and do everything sameday. I truly believe this clinic has been a blessing to me and my family. I finally found a dental home. Don't get them mixed with the other clinic surrounding. They are located next to five guys in the shopping center where the home depot is at. You will not regret it. I worked for multiple dental practices and this by far is the best. Follow their recommendation and you won't regret it. They know what they are talking about. They are very knowledgeable. They Dr Thomas and Dr Alston as their dental providers. Give them another chance if you came in the past. Things have changed. I have been coming here for three years. No one's perfect. Horrible place. They misled me into thinking the dentist on staff to do my cleaning was in network for my insurance , dentist wasn't in network. They didn't stop and think maybe don't schedule a dentist who is knowingly not in network until next month with this patient. They try to sell you into unnecessary treatments. My husband who they wouldn't treat because of blood pressure issues charged him for a mouthguard but didn't do his cleaning until his health issue was resolved filed the claim with our insurance for his cleaning, which was a service not rendered, with that same dentist who is not in network. We cancelled his upcoming cleaning just in time when we found out I had a bill of $800 for a cleaning because of the out of network issue. Beware of this dentist practice. They are very nice and welcoming and explain everything well, to get you to have unnecessary procedures. They wanted to put in two crowns for craze lines on teeth. Look it up, you'll find it's not a big deal to have, nearly everyone had craze lines in their teeth. We are attempting to resolve the $800 bill with the business manager. They can write it off easily for the mistake on their part to rectify this issue. I'll post if they resolved the bill or if I will be left to pay the $800 bill. I have had dentists for 20 years and never had this problem for a simple cleaning. Don't go here please. You have been forewarned. read more
