I've met this Dean guy, arrogant, with a touch of distain for customers (Written a week ago and sent directly to Deans e-mail address) We just left your market, we ordered a pizza for one of our group from someplace else but we had others that wanted sandwiches from Deans so we didn't order the sandwiches from the pizza place, win for Dean's! We drove the 30 mins to Deans, not a long ride but still a ride. We checked the web site and made sure we got there in time to get the sandwiches ordered with plenty of time before they closed. The response at the deli was "Closed", very rude. It gets better, it was 5 of two, they had to continue with "we usually close at 3:00 but sometimes we close at 2:00" I realize you are tremendously successful and this won't matter but I'm disappointed. I am always looking for a great deli sandwich with fresh ingredient. I tried Dean's yesterday and think overall it was just okay. I went in around lunch time and it was very busy. I had to wait about fifteen minutes which was somewhat expectable considering the other reviews. Consistent with other reviews the meat and cheese is pre-cut and portioned out. However the ingredients appeared fresh and were tasty. I was disappointed to learn they do not serve/make meatballs on the weekend, so instead of the meatball sub I was excited to try I went with the Gloucester Beef instead. The meat and cheese were fresh;however the horseradish sauce was over powering. The sub roll was a little disappointing in that it was not very wide. Went back on another week and tried a turkey sub with honey mustard that was excellent! read more

Sandwiches were pretty good, but not worth going there. They pre-portion the meat so every sandwich is exactly the same. Not sure how long ago it was sliced, that day? The day before? Who knows? The girls who work behind the deli counter are missing something, a personality! And Dean, the OWNER, could not have been more rude and actually argued with me about the type of sandwich I got. Not an establishment that prides themselves on customer service. And to quote Dean, "we have the BEST sandwiches around. Just look at the long line!" Rude. Nasty. At best, barely a grunt from anyone working there. Been coming here for close to 20 years. My parents live down here and now we have a house. It's convenience is all it has going for it. Sandwiches are mediocre. Dean is a sour presence. He forgets who his customers are, those who remain loyal despite the grumpy service. Not all of us are year rounders. And the business would not survive without seasonal folks. Not going back. The food and sandwiches at The Daily Brew are FAR superior and the service is super friendly. The Wild Harbor General Store has new friendly family ownership and we can get most of what we need there. The owner Dean is a pompous, arrogant jerk!! I bought potato salad that was CLEARLY bad, and I was told "that's how it's supposed to taste." I wanted to give it back but was made to feel like it wasn't going to happen.. When paying for my purchase he REPEATEDLY put change on counter even tho my hand was extended to get my change. I have been here twice, both time extreme satisfied. Subs are huge for only $6.99. Service is quick although it gets pretty packed during lunch time. Meatball sub is by far my favorite. Bread is perfect, sauce is perfect- add a little provolone cheese and you've got yourself a winner. I've also tried the tortellini salad which went perfect with my sub for only $2.23 but I can't wait to try their Mac & cheese next time and the blazing buffalo sub! read more

Came in for lunch after doing the bike path. Ordered a chicken Caesar wrap, and the line is pretty large. The food did come pretty quick though. The sandwich was very good for what it was, and I would come back. This is a very nice stop at the end of the bike path or at the beginning and I would recommend it if you're looking for food. read more

Great market and deli. I go there everyday for lunch. Always have 2 specials, homemade soups and chowder. All subs 7.29 and freshly made to order. THE STAFF is extremely friendly and don't forget to tip because they earn it! read more

The sandwiches are really good and the salads are delicious as well. I frequent a lot of the local convenience stores and without a doubt deans makes some of the best sandwiches. The only drawback is at the height of summer the lines tend to get long but that's not uncommon for such a well liked store. read more

I went there just looking for some milk bread and corn. The first thing I noticed is it's basically a liquor store and their selection of anything else was pretty nonexistent except for some really basic looking things like Wonder Bread, But I figured I would buy some premade food while I was there since nothing else I was looking for was there. And at 6 PM the deli was closed. I also noticed that almost nothing in the shelves in the food section was stockedI bought a couple noodle dishes from the refrigerator. Bad idea!. so cold mac & cheese was a little more than Potato salad with noodles which is pretty disgusting. And the other noodle dish I will not eat since the first made me feel sick to my stomach. How can such a nice neighborhood have such a lame stores since the North Falmouth Superette is moldy smelling And has about the same looking selection. If you're looking for liquor you're probably fine, anything else go to elsewhere, time to put a decent store in the place of this one @, how do people put up With this? read more
