It's my first time eating out in a year and the woman who answers the phone was so kind and patient and assisted in answering all our questions. When we got there, the man at the window was so sweet and literally read the ingredients to the ranch dressing for us to make sure we were safe. Man, the pizza is great, but while paying I've watched (a few times, I'm embarrassed to say) the food prep folks unmasked, ungloved, hair flopping around, grabbing toppings and spreading them on the pizzas... totally gross. Even in the old days before covid the school lunch preparers wore gloves and tied back their hair in hairnets. My kids absolutely LOVED this pizza!! Thee ONLY reason im not giving it 5 stars is because the guy at the register was on the phone for about 35 minutes and the line was out of the door. When i stepped up and asked someone if they help him, all the workers just looked at me. I then said, can i just pick up my pizza? And then someone got me the pizza ive been standing in line for 35 minutes to pick up. ALSO, they dont wesr gloves. I watched like a hawk before ordering to see if one of them fixed their hair or rubbed their face or anything and they didnt. BUUUTTT I really feel like they should wear gloves and hair/facial hair covers!!!! Other than that, the pizza was better than little Cesar's and wayyyyyy better than pizza hut (yuck!)!! Excellent pizza taste great! Very busy but it's worth the wait! New ordered thin crust with 3 toppings. It was made in error with only 2 toppings. Dean's is Turlock's best take n bake pizza just in front of Papa Murphys. The crust and sauce is excellent. I've always order their pizza to go and bake at home. One of my friends the other night showed up with a baked pizza in a box and I did not know where it came from. I took a bite of it and had to ask " where did you get this most excellent pizza". Absolutely the best take'n'bake in Turlock (or anywhere that I have tried). Better than most of the full service pizza places in town. Great crust, sauce, toppings, and cooking instructions. When it comes to pizza, the sauce and crust are the most important thing for me! I am surprised there are not more reviews on this restaurant as it is a time tested favorite of Turlock locals. This is just not my favorite pie. It was mediocre at best. I would have expected more given the back story and the price.

I have lived in Turlock my whole life and Dean's pizza has been #1 until now. I dont know if they sold it and it's under new management but it's at the bottom of the list. This place has the worst service. There claim to to a rock solid guarantee sucks. We bought pizza and wings which took them an an hour and half to get ready. I know it's Halloween and all but we were taking it home to cook. When we got home they forgot the sauce for the wings. We called and told the owner and he did not care at all. I've been going to Dean's for a few years. The service has been great. Right attitude, and very friendly. The pizzas have been good, but I do have a concern. I think the people working there, the one that took my order on 12-20-15 at 5:07pm, empl, A.G. handled the register, handled money went on to make a pizza, coughed in her hand went to spread the cheese and toppings without washing her hands. Not very hygienic. Others there also handled money and went back to making pizzas. They weren't really concerned about it. Would I go back? Don't really think so. I don't really see this type of lack of quality assurance in places like In & Out or McDonald's or some others fast food restaurants, but maybe it does happen. read more

Purchased a $12 for $6 deal thru yelp. Ordered a medium 3-topping pizza (not take'n'bake) with garlic bread and it came to about $7.50 so would have been almost $20 without the deal. The pizza was very mediocre. Good toppings with decent crust, cheese, and sauce. The garlic bread was extremely bland. I'm not likely to ever order from Dean's again. Turlock has plenty of good food to choose from but pizza doesn't seem to be one of them. read more

Great take n bake pizza! I decided to try them out since I had a Groupon to use... and I wasn't disappointed! The people working there were all very nice and gave me some tips on how to cook the pizza for the best results. I opted for a Veggie specialty pizza with garlic sauce and chose the baking paper vs the paper tray for a crispier crust. Overall, it was very good! I'll come back! read more

One of my favorite pizza places in the Turlock/Modesto area. They have a free breadstick's when you check in plus in the Entertainment book they have a buy one get one free pizza coupon. So I scored free pizza and free breadsticks and only paying for one pizza. I love that your pizza can be take and baked, or they can bake it for you. Dean's combo is super yummy. With pepperoni, sausage, canadian bacon, mushrooms, onions, black olives, green bell peppers and mozzarella on it. It's loaded too, they aren't chintzy with their ingredients. The other pizza we had was the Avocado Club with seasoned chicken, crumbled bacon, ham, tomatoes and fresh avocado with their white sauce. I've never had a pizza with avocado on it. It was super yummy. Can't wait to come back to Turlock to try some more Dean's! read more

Worst pizza I've ever had. This places pizza makes frozen pizza look like a gourmet meal. The customer service was terrible and I felt like I was being mocked when I asked for no mushrooms...then after dealing with a horrible attitude they still put mushrooms. This place by far has the best pizza in Turlock. The dough is a perfect balance between crispy and soft (I cook mine at home on a stone), the many sauces rock, and they pile the toppings on generously. They have a variety of signature pizzas which all have been satisfying. And as mentioned you can take-n-bake or have them cook it for you. Good lunch time special too. read more

Tried this for the first time and I love that you can choose to Take N Bake or to have them cook it for you. During the summer it's just too hot for take N Bake. I got a Deans Combo and it was very fresh and not too greasy. Crust was just enough crunch. read more
