This is the best pizza I've ever had. No, seriously. Crust is somewhere between a Chicago style thick cut and traditional, and ingredients are piled on. Flavors are fantastic, fresh and one slice is enough to fill you up. It's a perfect slice of pizza. We also got the brisket sandwich but neglected it because the pizza was so good. Restaurant was super clean and staff was friendly. We had to wait a few minutes for our pizza to come out but it was worth every second. The worst thing about this place is they serve Pepsi. This spot has great reviews and they've got another location in Ripon too, so we decided to check it out. We arrived around 8:15 and got our order in. We got the Eureka Deal which is a giant 2 topping pizza, breadsticks, & 4 drinks. We also got a Large Digger pizza, and wings, plenty of food for 6 of us. We ended up taking home a good amount of leftovers. The pizza has a ton of toppings, they don't chince on the ingredients, that's a good sign of food spot that doesn't try to cut corners with servings to maximize profits. This place is pretty big, they have tons of booths, and other large tables for bigger parties too. Now I'm still giving it 4 stars...........but around 9:10 pm we were asked to leave/hurry up however you want to word it, as we were told they were closed for 10 minutes now. If I own this joint and an employee tells a guest of mine that just paid $150 bones & 20% tip that, I'd be livid. It's not like it was midnight or even 30-45-60 minutes beyond closing, it was 10 minutes. If I'm not going to be given enough time to eat my food, cool, don't let me order then. Mathew is awesome & so personable making sure everything is to your liking. The newer gal that is a senior in high school (that also helps at a school prior to going to work at Gold Dust), Paige, is very sweet & always makes sure your order is correct and is very welcoming when we order. If you haven't tried this location... you need to go. I know they are owned by same owners as other locations, but, this one is better than Sutter Creek! I personally think it's the best pizza. For all the talk about generous toppings, I was disappointed. Despite paying $20+ for a small pizza, I was shocked that it was barely topped with anything - so much so that I forgot to take a pic. Very Disappointed -- Poor Service and Disturbing Incident I'm usually patient, but our experience at Gold Dust Pizza Express was unacceptable. We ordered a specialty pizza and specifically requested olives and mushrooms on one half only; the pizza arrived with none of the requested toppings. When we brought this to the manager's attention, nothing was done to remedy it -- disappointing for a $60 order that was also overcooked. Worse, a distressing incident occurred during our visit. A friend's child who has a disability became upset. As our friend was quietly escorting her out to avoid a scene, staff called the police and falsely reported that we were being aggressive. There was no physical harm or abuse -- only an emotional episode -- yet police were involved, our 4‑year‑old was exposed to the situation, and the officers took everyone's IDs and asked for personal information. Staff also repeated inaccurate claims to management and police, saying that the teen said help me to staff which never happened and even the teen was like what which added to our humiliation in front of other diners. This was not just poor customer service -- it was a failure of judgment and compassion. We left feeling embarrassed and shaken. I hope the restaurant reviews its training and handling of sensitive situations, and offers an apology or appropriate resolution. read more

Totally the best pizza ever! I've reviewed many different pizza parlors but this one overrides all the others I've rated. Now, this is the place for pizza, no other. The first time we visited this place we noticed they didn't have a combination of all the meats and vegetables, so we ordered 1/2 Motherlode meat at 1/2 vegetarian, amazing. Now we understand why, if they had a combination with both all meat and vegetables, it would be too hard to eat as the toppings are huge. Check out picture. Also, the staff is friendly and courteous. They have a really good garden salad too, enough to share with 2-3 people. Good dressing as well. They have about 6-7 beers on tap. I can't say enough good things about this place. Definitely recommend getting the mozzarella cheese bread! I don't live in the area but I've stopped here twice after rafting with friends nearby and have had amazing experiences both times. The pizza is delicious, both times I've been here have been with a large group so I've tried pretty much every pizza on the menu and honestly even the cauliflower crust pizza is delicious. The service has always been top notch, staff is so friendly and helpful even with a large crowd. Bathrooms are clean which I appreciate coming from a city where that is not always a given. I've been let down by this place quite a few times so now I'm feeling it's time for an honest review. Hopefully it will resonate with their staff and they can make some changes. This is the second time I've showed up after calling in an order and they've looked at me blankly and said that they never got it and they don't know where my order is. They asked me if I could stand around while they try and remake the order which is understandably the only thing that they can do, but this would be me waiting for about two hours for a pizza in total, that's wild. The staff is a bunch of young kids, so I understand that they're not great with dealing with conflict, but there was not a single apology or offering any type of service to make things right . I'm constantly being let down when I come here and twice I have come home empty handed after calling in a pizza and waiting 45 mins to pick it up just to be told it will be another 45 once I get there due to them losing my order. Not to mention their pizzas are so loaded with toppings that the dough is typically undercooked on the bottom, and the whole thing falls apart before you can get a slice to your mouth. read more

I wrote a review for the Ripon location, and this Oakdale locations echoes the same experience 1:1. This is hands down one of the best pizza spots in existence. I have family that lives over here and they are sick of everyone asking to go here when visiting, but it's just THAT GOOD. Please see the photos I've attached to get what I mean. They DO NOT SKIMP on toppings at all and the crust is fantastic. I do not state this lightly, their cheese bread (which they call mozzarella sticks) is the GOAT of all cheese bread. I just can't even describe the gooey, greasy, cheesy goodness that bread has. It is a must order every time. The inside is spacious and has plenty of booths to sit at. Well, having come from Ripon, I can say that the Ripon Gold Dust is A LOT better! Our pizza was so greasy that the crust was soggy, the sauce isn't as good and the spicy ranch is really some kind of chipotle-like conglomeration. Looks like I'll be going to Ripon to get a Gold Dust Fix. read more

We ordered a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza and picked up. The pizza was held in the car flat the entire time and when we got home and opened the pizza it was a complete mess. When we called to explain and sent them a photo they blamed us and said there was nothing they could do. After explaining that a vegetarian was unable to eat it as there were no slices without pepperoni she stated, "well, vegetarians don't eat cheese". We usually get the Eureka Deal, a giant two topping pizza, breadsticks with cheese, and four fountain drinks for $40. You can't beat that anywhere else with the quality you get.
