The pizza is awesome. Their wait times are wrong. They say 20 mins on the phone but are more like 30-40 mins.

As of the time of this writing, it says that they're open for another 57 minutes. Me and my family showed up to eat a pizza in Escalon after spending the evening doing a charity event for Escalon high school. We were told at the counter by a high school student know less that they were closing early tonight and we're not going to let us eat in the building even though they were open for another hour. They just decided to close the room early. Very sad to turn a family of five who is going to order two extra large pizzas away. I guess this is why everybody goes to Dubonis. Management should be seriously embarrassed. I'm literally standing in Duboni's now and the place is packed. read more

They are always good, always friendly. It has been nine years since my last visit. I borrowed a car to do some shopping in Stockton and on the way back, I took a detour. From 2014 to 2016, I'd visit about every six weeks. I was impressed with how well they treated everyone, how well they made the food, and kept things clean. I can say that everything is much like it was. The only Pizza Plus location that didn't meet that standard changed their name. Im giving this pizza place and it's food a 2. Im a food critic when it comes to eating out. We ordered i guess what would be a combination pizza. The pizza was dry, hardly any sauce which made it hard to think it was a pizza we were eating. A pizza is usually cheesy and saucy and well the way a pizza should be. Pizza is run by teenagers (which I'm glad they have a good job) however not friendly at all. The counter person was the friendliest. All others not friendly. I had to purchase pizza sauce for my pizza which was cold so didn't do justice for my slice. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy it one bit. I think for paying 53. Cents a side order of pizza sauce and ranch the containers would be a Lil bigger. All to say a bad experience I won't be going to this place again. Just left a bad taste in my mouth. I met some of my relatives here for lunch today. We get together here every 4 to 6 weeks for lunch. The past few times, plus today we had to wait close to 30 minutes for our food to be brought to our table. Today there was no one else in the restaurant when we got there. So there was no excuse to have had to wait that long for our food. We all had sandwiches for lunch. My bread was close to being burnt, and there wasn't very much meat on it. We're all considering going elsewhere for lunch from now on. read more

Customer services steadily declined at this location. Today we ordered a pizza over the phone and we're told it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. We arrived about 20 minutes after the phone call at first they were confused about the order trying to figure out which one it was when I gave our name and then said something about it being "still open" when they found it. They said it was going to be another 15 minute wait because they had not gotten it ready yet. By the time it was ready it ended up being 45 minutes from when they said it would be ready in 15 or 20 minutes. I should have questioned it when I was in the restaurant but after talking with my wife she called and spoke to the manager. They really did not seem to care and commented that the person just gave the standard response without checking the wait time. If you call and order in, beware believing the wait time they tell you. read more

Pizza is cooked perfectly, slightly charred on the parts the cheese overflowed onto the crust which I love. Ranch is bomb tastes like it's house ranch, and they have one of the Coke freestyle machines if you order at the shop always a plus too. Review for the sandwiches only. I'm not from Escalon, but I know people that are. I've been told that the sandwiches from here are legendary. Well I stopped and ordered two turkey sandwiches, with everything, toasted. While I do think that the sandwiches tasted good, they did not blow me away as the locals said they would. They were not very large, and were kind of basic in my opinion. In fact, I felt that they could have been stuffed with more stuff. More turkey more lettuce onions and tomatoes, and it needed some extra pizzazz. Maybe a higher-quality mustard or some vinegar or something like that. But I come from a big city with more robust options for sandwiches. I guess small towns have limited options and are impressed easier than I am. Absolutely my favorite pizza place! I have always been such a big fan of family owned businesses, but when they offer amazing food as well, that's when it's completely perfect! Personally, I love the cheese pizza and their pazooke! They also have an amazing white sauce chicken pizza and bread sticks! The food is great, there is no doubt about that. However, I am extremely disappointed in the customer service. I get hiring high schoolers because they work for cheap, but I've never seen people look more miserable to be there. They brought our order to the table and no plates to eat on. So, I walked up to the front and asked for plates and they pointed to a small stack at the end of the counter. Why not just tell us that's where they are when you bring the food if you're not going to bring plates? Why is that so hard? After we finished, we asked for a box for the leftovers and I've never seen someone look so inconvenienced. Pizza Plus in Escalon is always good; whether it's their salad bar, their pizza, pazookies, or sandwiches. Their pizza is always loaded with cheese and the crust is cooked just right. The pizza was very good, the service was good enough and the place was clean. There are video games to play but bring plenty of quarters. The salad bar was fresh but very skimpy, just the barest basics. A "large" pizza , three one-trip salad bars and one soda (plus tax) cost more than $60, so too expensive to eat here very often. Lower the prices and expand the salad bar and you might get more than 3 stars. read more

Not the Pizza Plus I knew in Ripon. Used to be excellent pizza, now Costco puts out a better tasting pizza with more toppings. When you used to order a Pizza Plus cheese pizza, there was so much cheese that you had a lovely "cheese pull." This "giant" sized pizza only measures 16". That's a large by any standard. We ordered a half vegetarian and half all meat. This pizza had little cheese and the all meat had none of the bacon or linguica as advertised. After spending $55 for two pizzas, I could have received five better quality pizzas from Costco (and I don't really like Costco but at least the toppings would have been sufficient and the pizzas would have been 18"). I am really very disappointed and so are my kids. read more

I take partial responsibility for this because I didn't read the fine print; this is NOT in any way, shape or form associated with our beloved Pizza Plus from Ripon or gold dust in Oakdale. I knew I should have walked out when the THREE kids working all looked at me and didn't have the courtesy to greet me. Finally after a few minutes, one says "hey can you get the counter?" To the other kid. They're so lucky that I was in a hurry or I would've walked out. Im still upset with myself for not walking out , 30 minutes later. To add insult to injury, a tiny little tiny 1 topping pizza was $25. TWENTY. FIVE. DOLLARS. I could've gone to mountain Mike's or literally anywhere else & paid less for more and for far better. The pizza was skimpy on toppings and also burnt. Never again in my life. Idk where these 4 stars are from but don't let that fool you. Escalon, you deserve better than this. Also, Ripon is only 15 minutes away, for just a few dollars more you could have a GIANT pizza with cheese sticks, real toppings and real customer service. Yahoo mistakenly linked to a *different* Pizza Plus in Tennesse. This Pizza Plus is a local restaurant in our small town without any website. "Just drive on down!" or call for delivery. Anyway....The *Escalon, California Pizza Plus* has a super good crew of people. They have always been upbeat & light hearted with me. I like that. It is like the person who hires always hires great individuals who make it always enjoyable to eat there. My favorite pie is a customized vegetarian --without olives add sausage & atichoke hearts, plus extra garlic. Yum, yum, yum. Nice clean family place - open & bright with wood boths, and individual tables, plus a small sports room. Salad bar - even a rack of gumball machines. *A lively place after Escalon High wins a game* - They were the footbal state champions in their division; what a tough bunch of farm kids! The thing that really gets under my skin is they don't use gloves here. And they only wash their hands every so often. Someone can get very sick. This is probably the last time I will ever come here because I am not trying to get sick. I love the food just not worth getting sick. What a find! On my way for a one night camping trip a and I needed to stop for ice when i saw Pizza Plus next to the store . The menu had plenty of sandwiches but I love pepperoni pizza and ordered the small size and a salad. The salad bar was fresh, clean and was well stocked. The pizza was killer. The dough was not too thick and crust was just cooked enough to be a little crispy. Great place! read more

For the most part they are terrific. One thing that sways me is their delivery cut off. They don't come to our address. So i have to resort in paying their competitor an extra $6 to deliver to us. I've been eating Pizza Plus since birth! Ripon and Linden Pizza Plus have it right! I'm disappointed in Escalon Pizza Plus for several reasons.... 1. Calzones suck! Completely different! 2. Pizza breads suck! Cheap skates on the toppings! 3. Mozzarella bread stick suck! Different! 4. Coke products suck! 5. Their sausage is not Italian sausage....some processed little dog food looking kibble that tastes like it looks! Garbage! Been here a few times. Awesome calzone and pizza for lunch. You can get 2 slices thick crusted pizza and a drink for 6.50. 1 slice salad and drink is 8+. Made to order pizzas are larger than you would think so be warned. They have sandwiches too but i never saw one around. read more

Pizza plus used to be so good but in the past year or two I feel the quality has gone down hill. We keep ordering thinking it's a fluke. We ordered a woodcutter sandwich and there was barely any meat and it was covered in mayo. The pizzas used to be good but the last few times the crust has been super thin and crazy greasy. Lastly we ordered the chicken strips. For 8 bucks I got 5 tiny chicken strips That were cold. We will never be ordering from this Pizza Plus again and that actually makes me sad since Iv been going here forever! read more

Escalon Pizza Plus has gone down the drain. I have went there several times over the past few months and it is not the Pizza Plus I remember. The dining area is filthy, garbage was all over the floor and the tables are dirty. The salad bar was gross with wilted salad, nothing fresh. The kids working there are unfriendly and don't greet customers. You have to stand at the counter as the kids working glare at you without saying a word. Finally, who ever drew the short straw approaches the counter to take your order. I have ordered fountain drinks over the last several months going in there, they gladly take your money but fail to mention they have no soda in the soda machine. Then you ask about the soda, and you get a deer in the headlights look from the teens working there. They then hand over a hot 2 litter bottle of coke because the soda machine that has multiple drink option is completely out of every soda. (This has been this way for several months) The pizzas are under cooked and doughy. The last time I was in there people were all complaining about the service and the pizza and other food quality. Customers were talking about how badly this Pizza Plus has gone down hill saying they were done giving them a chance. To top it off they were out of ice in the soda machine, that has no soda. We asked for ice to cool down the hot 2 litter soda we were provided. They said they knew they were out of ice and were working on it. Thirty minutes later they were asked by multiple customers about ice. Again, they just reply they know they are out of ice with a blank stare at the customers. Ice is a pretty basic thing that all restaurants have on hand. Finally 45 minutes later one of the workers comes in pushing a shopping cart with bags of ice, that was purchased at the store next door. He leaves the ice sitting in the shopping cart for another 15 minutes as customers are standing there with empty cups waiting for ice. Then the guy comes out and starts throwing the bags of ice on the dirty floor to break up the ice, then dumps the ice in the machine using the dirty bags that were thrown all over the dirty floor. Often times I thought the ice tasted like dirt, now I know why. I don't know what changed but they need to bring back whoever was running this place several years ago to turn it around. There is an old saying, "It takes three generations to lose a business." Based on the extremely poor customer service and even worse food, I would say the community is witnessing their demise now.
