Two 16 oz. white chocolate mocha lattes and a small hot chocolate
    Amanda R.

Dear donut man you get my 4 stars, their lattes are really good for a small donut place(better than Starbucks). Their donuts/twist are really good, it was a quick stop for a latte but I ended up grabbing a cinnamon twist as well. The cinnamon twist was so good, an even mixture of cinnamon and dough. This place is definitely worth trying.

I love this place. If you want the best kolache or breakfast sandwiches in Alvin or in my opinion anywhere in Brazoria county. And now the super sweet change of names to Dear Donut Man is just super awesome. So go get you some awesome food for breakfast tomorrow from some of the nicest business people that Alvin has to offer.

The bacon and egg kolaches are amazing. Apple fritters are great, too. This is our favorite Manvel donut shop.

She was awesome. Everyone loved their food. I had the Big Breakfast again and had the same banana pecan pancakes I ordered during my last visit but this time I got jalapeno bacon as my protein and hashbrowns instead of grits. The bacon was SO GOOD and was full of jalapeno flavor but minus the spice. I could've eaten a couple more slices of that goodness. It was crispy, a tad bit burnt but again it was so good. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy. I also made sure to get plenty of strawberry butter this time and I slathered it all over my pancake and biscuit. The kiddos had child's plates that included two mini pancakes, eggs and a choice of protein. My cousin had a hash that looked incredible and she said it was very tasty. I'll have to try it out one day if I can ever break myself away from the pancakes. Just like last time the amibiance was warm, cozy, family friendly and Christian themed. This just might be my fave breakfast spot. I absolutely love it.

We don't talk about Alvin, TX enough so let me shed some light on this great place. I've had…read moreGordon Street Tavern on my list for awhile for the simple fact that they sell scotch eggs. You just don't see that often and I wanted to try it. The stars aligned and my family and I met up here for a weeknight dinner. Alvin is the true definition of a small town. It is just south of Pearland and life moves a little slower out here. Atleast for time being as it is becoming more developed now. The building itself is old and full of character. Everyone seemed to know each other. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, but service was a tad bit slow at times. My family isn't a big drinking family so we stuck with water and sodas, but they have quite a nice bar program here. They have a really impressive beer selection, a long list of specialty cocktails and lots of wine to choose from. I'm definitely coming back to check that out without the fam. For appetizers, we got an order of the scotch eggs and the Bavarian pretzel sticks. This was my first introduction to scotch eggs and a wonderful one at that. You really can't go wrong with anything wrapped in sausage and deep friend. It was a nice treat and something I will not be sharing next time. The pretzels were also very good. Our waitress suggested some cheese sauce to accompany those. These sticks of goodness were excellent. For my entree, I was stuck on a few items as their menu is pretty extensive. Our waitress said my option for the Pork Milanesa was the way to go, so I did. I've had milanesa at Mexican restaurants, but never in a tavern nor prepared this way. This was hand battered in panko and then topped with a mushroom gravy. It comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but I substituted the veggie for mac and cheese. This dish was very good and the portions were very generous. Enough for me to have a full second meal minus the sides. The pork was thinly pounded and kept it's crunch even doused in gravy. The gravy was rich and very delicious. My family got a mix of items like the philly cheese steak, flat iron steak salad, tavern salad, and chicken fried steak. For research purposes and for my loyal readers, I tried everything. There wasn't anything that was bad to me. We were full so desserts didn't happen on this trip. Overall, Gordon Street Tavern is a solid spot that I would happily return to if in the area.

The service was great and they are very attentive. Cornbread: They came out with regular rolls but the cornbread was my favorite. It wasnt very sweet. It was more like a savory and warm cornbread muffin. It was pretty good though. Chicken fried chicken: As you can see from my picture, it is massive. The chicken breading is great and it is nice and crispy. The chicken breast was juicy and came out nice and hot. They put the gravy on the side so its perfect to dip. Mashed potatoes: The mashed potatoes were great. They are smooth with no skin or chunks inside. The gravy came on top which added great flavor. Mac and Cheese: My mac and cheese came out a little cold but it was alright. It wasn't extremely cheesy either, it just tasted a little plain for my taste. I wish it was more cheesy and warmer. Buttered corn: Speaks for itself. It's corn kernels and butter. Cant mess that up. Overall, very good food and you can tell lots of butter was put into every dish. So just beware if you don't like overly salty food!!!

I took my 4yr old girl to the women's restroom and sitting on top of the toilet was the orange cap to a syringe, filled with a clear liquid. Thank God I was inside of the restroom with my girl, there is no telling if she would have picked that cap up and put it in her mouth trying to drink whatever was inside. I notified the waitress right away who went and grabbed it and took it to a manager who I never saw. While I was checking out, one of the other waitresses came up to me saying the clear liquid was her tirzepatide inside of the cap in the bathroom which is confusing since glp 1 comes in vials. Regardless of what was really inside of the cap the point is the waitress left a dangerous drug out in the open and unattended where any kid could have gotten ahold of it. I am hoping a manager or the owner sees this review and has a talk with the night team because there really is no room for mistakes like this. As a mom to 2 toddlers this is very upsetting and concerning.

Only negative to this is - I've had some drinks that were DELICIOUS and made by the person who it was named after and then when returning it was made by another person and somehow NOTHING like the original. Prices are similiar to big name. Around 8-9$ for a 20oz. Which I don't love that but it's 2024. Their inside sitting is very eclectic and homey. I look forward to coming back here.
