I was very impressed and happy I could salvage my orange Stan Smiths. Holler. It's a funky little place with religious icons all over the store (I think the guy is Armenian), which gives it beau coup character. Cash only. And you have to pay 1/2 up front when you drop your shoes off. I can't blame the guy. For the prices he charges, I'm certain he can't afford to be stiffed for his work. If you have a pair of shoes that need some work (new soles, heals, etc.) do the world a favor and take them to Shoe Re-DO before you throw them out.

I took my things in on a Friday and was told that they'd be done on Thursday. When I went to pick them up, the jacket was done but the purse wasn't. When I'd dropped the items off, I hadn't seen the "CASH ONLY" sign by the register, so I had to make sure I had money when I returned on Friday. They did a lovely job, and the people were friendly. It cost $18 for the jacket (which was only a $20 jacket to begin with!) and $16 for the purse. I don't know if those prices are good or not; they seemed high to me, but, on the other hand, I don't have the skill to do such repairs. But I wish the sign about not accepting anything but cash was on the door (although I understand why it's not); most people don't carry much cash these days, so it would be helpful to know the policy beforehand.

All that being said,the shop did an excellent job repairing my boots,but the blonde old lady acted as if she didn't know who I was when I returned for my boots,and STILL had a very nasty disposition. A gentleman was outside the open door on the sidewalk stoop having a cigarette and no way could he have missed me walking in. I waited inside for nearly 15 minutes listening to all kinds of conversation and swearing and such while he finished his cigarette and spoke with someone from a neighboring shop. I wasn't sure I should even interrupt it to ask for some help so I just walked out and he did not even stop or notice me walk out. I gets it's slow right now but you really need to watch for customers and be professional even when you are "taking a break". I will be going elsewhere for shoe and purse repair now as now I don't think I want to give my business here.

Before Jerry dyed them, the boots were faded out from black. One was grayish, the other purple-ish and actually two different colors! I was a little hesitant to redye them with a shop I didn't know, but so glad I did. LOVE the result and am including a picture here. Jerry put rubber heel taps on the boots to preserve the heels, as he advised "it's better to pay $5.00 for the taps than $$ for replacing the heels." He used the good rubber taps (not the plastic ones you sometimes see). I found him to be prompt, courteous, and fair in his pricing. I definitely will be back!
