Desperate to have a scratch fixed on a brand new pair of shoes, I came by. I'm so mad I didn't check reviews before going here. A $20 overpriced that took 3 visits, he ended up coloring both of the entire shoes an entirely different shade. And a terrible job at that. You can see the swirl marks from the coloring. Just awful. So now I'm rebuying the shoes. A $100 total error on my part for not checking out that all other customers had bad experiences. Buyer beware. read more

He is to close at 3:00 today (Saturday). It's 2:18 and he's closed. He didn't prioritize gluing a small spot on my shoe Tuesday or Wednesday, and now he's closed. And an angry, snotty guy. read more

This place used to be great. Arrived almost 30 minutes after posted Opening on a Friday and the shop was still closed. No note on the door for modified hours. I hope they are still open? read more

Took a purse in because the straps had loose threads hanging and small areas of leather that were separating. He was honest telling me that it could not be repaired and suggested I cut the threads and burn the ends. I guess the leather straps are unfortunately covered with some type of plastic. I went home, followed his instructions and the loose threads are gone and at least the straps look much better! Will definitely go back with shoes or other leather items. read more

Yes I'm so happy I finally came here! I have two purses that needed to be fixed. My Fendi they were not able to fix because I'm missing some metal parts that I must order and bring in so that they can fix it. I was sad but understood. My Burberry bag, he unstiched...stiched and re-sealed where he separated the two leather pieces. My lock is back on and I'm so excited. He fixed it all within minutes as I was waiting and only charged me $8.00. Score! I can't wait to go back and have my other boo fixed. :-) read more

I'm not sure if it's my skin color but I took my shoes in for a shine because one shoe was dull... the guy told me I would need a dye shine that would cost me $25.00... got my shoes back and they were in the same shape one dull and one shined... I went to CVS and got some polish.... Low and behold that did the trick for $8.00. What a waste of time and money.. won't get my business and I hope he don't get yours... read more

Best Shoe Repair place in the area! I dropped off a pair of Ferragamo's that got destroyed with all the salt on ground. He removed all the salt and resoled the shoes. I can see my reflection on these shoes. read more

BAD! BAD! BAD! Took something in for repair and was told to pick them up the following day. Went back but they were not ready. Was told they'd be ready "tomorrow." Came back the next day he took my phone number and said he'd call me because the weren't reaady yet. No call. I went back on Saturday. Closed. Returned today, lights on, door locked and two other customers waiting. Of course my repairs weren't done yet -- but I was able to get them and get out. Depending on this guy is a risk. read more

I have taken many pairs of shoes to this place and I'll admit... he doesn't do the greatest fit and finish job. I've have shoes re-heeled and after a few visits he'll have gouged the heel so badly that the shoes look too awful to wear any longer. A couple of times he didn't shape the new heel right and it caught on the ground a lot. I haven't found another shoe repair place besides the ones in malls (I hear absolute horror stories there) so I continue to patronize. And it's cheap... $8 for re-heeled dress shoes isn't bad. That's not saying I wouldn't switch if I found a better place though. read more

I went to the Dearborn shoe repair for the first time, & came out happy that the zipper on my tall boots was fixed. No one could fix the zipper, & even thought the repair took awhile it was worth it. I will go back and already started telling friends to take their repairs there.....lexi read more

Dearborn Shoe Repair is a God send for any woman that wears high heels. The guy that owns the shop has put new heels on numerous pairs of my shoes and has even fixed bags for me. Recently, I took a leather handbag that I had only gotten an chance to carry for a few weeks before the zipper got caught in the lining. I thought I'd take my bag here as a last ditch effort before I threw it out. They were able to fix the bag and now its like I got a new handbag! Thank you!!! Also, the City of Dearborn finally realized that paying for parking is a dumb idea and the lot behind the shop no longer requires you to pay to park. : ) read more

I had read good reviews and decided to have some minor repairs done to two pairs of wedges, one pair was quality repair, the second I was extremely disappointed. My child had pulled the insoles up, yet still intact. I had asked to either have them glued back down or have new Insertions. He did explain that if my feet started to sweat the glue would not hold up for long, ok I just needed something quick because I was going on a date. When I picked them up he had glued the heel part but missed the toe part ,I wish I had taken a pic because I noticed right away, so I left them for a second attempt, when I picked up second time I noticed that he had cut out the insoles and looked like a kindergartener pasted back on, I was so upset and his response was " no one could see it" but I can see it and who feels sexy in shoes that look like a hurricane paste job.... I only paid $8 each for the repairs, but he ruined the insides, and now I will have to take to another place and have them repaired. I did want a quick fix, but he should have asked me before cutting and pasting. If you were gonna cut them out should have replaced with a clean cut job of new insoles, I love these shoes and would pay more to fix them. Based on the two bad reviews I read about this place, I was reluctant to use them. But I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend them to others. I took in a pair of Johnston & Murphy shoes to be re-soled and new heels on a Wednesday afternoon and he promised to have them done by Friday afternoon. Not only was he true to his word, but the workmanship was outstanding. I think they look better than when they were new! read more
