Archery is so much fun! My sister and I wanted to learn archery. After doing some researches, decided to sign up with Deborah for 2 lessons. First one was at Yolo Bowman and second at Discovery Park. Deborah provided all the necessary equipments. Before the lessons began, she went over all the important rules. Then she explained each steps in details. She monitored and guided each of her students. She took her time to make sure we were holding the bows and arrows correctly and also we were in the proper standing positions. If not, she would correct us. After each round of shootings, we would go up to the target boards to retrieve our arrows one by one. Each lesson was an hour long. I did pretty well for a beginner. I hit a bullseye in both of my lessons. Super proud of myself :) Deborah was a fantastic instructor. She was funny, patient, knowledgeable, nice, cool and super awesome! She took the time with each of us and listened to our questions and concerns. I have learned a lot from her. As a bonus, she's a great photographer as well. We are a group of 8 friends (4 couples) we were looking for a fun activity. Heard about Deborah's Mobile Archery Range via another friend who sung praises. Ended up booking this for our group. Not only did we all have an absolute blast, we are discussing making this a regular activity. Deborah is an amazing instructor. She is engaging, encouraging, and funny. She was also fully prepared with everything we needed. Our group was a mixture of people with no experience at all to someone who owns their own bow. She managed to tailor the lesson to fit each individual. The experience was incredible. All 8 of us agreed that a 5 star review is deserved. My family and I met Deborah this weekend for a one hour lesson. Our lesson was for beginners and was held at Discovery Park. When we arrived, we found that she had an outdoor teaching "studio" set up. The teaching space included an EZ up with chairs and a large jug of ice water for us. She had also set up lanes using hazard cones and colored banners on the ground. The teaching setup was well organized and comfortable. Deborah had plenty of equipment for us to use (2 adults and 2 children). The equipment was in good shape and appropriate for our skill level. She taught us the basics of the equipment and how to use it. She also gave recommendations for buying equipment. During the lesson, Deborah always showed concern for our safety (the archery range was full with archers of varying skill). Deborah's was well organized: several reminders came and the morning of the lesson she sent a picture of the tent where we would find her. My family of four drove from the Bay Area to Sacramento for our private archery lesson, and it was worth it for sure! Both of my kids are autistic, and Deb's patience and expertise in instruction made them feel successful. One was nervous and sat out our first round, and the other's lack of coordination made teaching him a definite one-on-one job! But they hit the hay and she made them feel like rockstars. We purchased a 4-person lesson as a gift for my children's friends. This high energy group ranges from age 8 to 12. All of the kids were extremely excited to learn, and I was a little worried that their enthusiasm might be difficult to manage. Fear not! My kids and their friends really enjoyed their lesson with Deborah. She takes the time to ensure all the kids (varying ages 7-16) understand the rules and how to handle the equipment safely before she actually starts the lesson. Once the lesson started, she displayed patience with the kids and easily corrected/adjusted where needed. She helped explain consistency before accuracy so the kids would focus on groups rather than getting a bullseye. She also was able to catch when my oldest was aiming with the incorrect eye and found maybe she should be a lefty in archery since she's more dominant in her left eye. That's how much she pays attention and takes her lessons seriously, but makes sure it's still fun and personable. The cutest thing is how she had nicknames for the kids since it's really difficult to remember all their names. We had: Baby Groot, Puppy and Awesome. She called my 16 year old by her actual name. I had an interest in archery and decided to hire Deborah as my personal coach. She was personal and did an excellence job showing a beginner like me the foundations of archery. Beyond the basics, she helped with my form and encouraged me along the way. During our session, another archer showed up next to us (adjacent target) and was going to shoot from a long distance away. Any mistake by him could put us both in danger. She approached this gentlemen and asked him to move closer to the target as she was concerned for our safety. The archer was not happy about it but Deborah was persistent and he moved closer to the target as she suggested. After an hour of Deborah's instruction, I realized I had a passion for archery I never knew I had. A friend of ours wanted to practice some archery on her birthday, so we tracked down Deborah and had her meet us at the course in Davis. We arranged for a 2-hour lesson for 3 of us... one of us had her own bow. Deborah arrived early and was set up waiting for us at the start of our lesson. She provided bows, arrows, quivers, arm guards, and the know-how needed for us to be on our way... We spent a little over an hour learning and practicing, and then we moved on to the archery course (picture mini-golf or frisbee golf). We had a lot of fun, learned what we needed to, got to practice shooting and overall we enjoyed Deborah. I am thinking of hiring her for my 13-yr old's bday this year! read more

I walked into my lesson having never been able to get an arrow to fly more than two feet, and I walked out being able to successfully aim and hit the target nearly every time. While browsing around trying to find a place for my 11 year old son to try his hand at archery I happened upon Deborah's Mobile archery. I had absolutely no idea what to expect but within that first half hour of the lesson I wanted to have a go too and I knew we'd be signing up for more sessions. My son and I have had a couple of lessons so far including one that took us around the archery club trail in El Dorado so Deborah could explain the rules and etiquette of using these courses. I cannot recommend that enough. Each of the targets brought their own challenges and we had so much fun tackling them. Loved the lesson. Deborah provided excellent instruction. Two hours flew by. I found holding the arrow ready to shoot was an excellent exercise in itself. Once I relaxed my shoulders and squeezed them towards my spine the accuracy of my shots improved. If you book an hour, it'll be so fun that it will fly by. Its as good as it gets. As a Scoutmaster, I see a the value of a good program and here it is. I'm a certified USA Archery level 2 coach (Deborah is level 3) and I have always gotten my training and certification from her. My son and I took the level 1 in one of her classes last year and this year when I learned that she had an open spot, I jumped on it. The sport is really good and relaxing.
