Used to come here YEARS ago and it used to be super good; I'm writing this review after my girlfriend and I just ate there 15 minutes ago and honestly that was the worst food I've had. My girlfriend and I both got the bbq bacon cheeseburger with a large order of fries and 2 bottled coca colas. If I'm not mistaken, a cheeseburger comes with cheese, but these burgers didn't have any pieces of cheese on it at all, and it didn't look fresh. The fries were not salted at all and felt like chewing on bark with flakes of potato on it, I had to cover them in ketchup, and even the ketchup tasted funny. I really hope this place turns around it used to be very good. read more

It was good. Just got a double cheese burger with avocado. It's an old business and building but still stands up to time and has a nice decorative feel inside. It reminds me of shoe strings on broadway but has Mexican food too. Come and try something if you're in the area it'd be nice to see it be more busy. You want this place to be good. The inside of the restaurant is about 90 degrees and smells like sewage. The girls that worked the counter are not friendly.... Seem more irritated that you are there. Then there is the food. We ordered Dipped cones.... The ice cream is so melted that they couldn't dip them and instead put them upside down in a cup and handed them to us. No sorry, no offer of something more appealing than melted ice cream. Won't ever go back. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to the coffee place that serves Gelato. read more

This place has so much potential but it's owners are terrible business owners. They do not follow their own posted hours, and close far to early, even on the weekends. They will say their closing at 6pm, you can show up at 5:15pm and they'll already be closed. The inside is always freezing in the winter and hot in the summer. It's dirty, they don't turn all the lights on and you can tell the oil in the fryer gets used a little to long. It's sad because the burgers are good, and Diamond Springs desperately needs more restaurants, but this one is ridiculous. Why own a restaurant if you won't even stay open past 5:30pm? read more

Called ahead at 11am to make sure they would be open later this evening. They stated they would be open til 6pm. I arrived there at 530pm. They were closed. This happens all the time. I'm done supporting this business. Most of the times the lights are not on and they don't heat or cool the place. I get struggling but don't do it on the consumer's expense. I own a small business in this area and I just can't do it for the simple fact of inconsistencies of this place. I have eaten at various places around the world in which many who will read this review would never consider eating at in their entire life-time. When I drove here to eat I must say that it reminded me of something you would find in a third-world country. It is not an appealing place to look at from the outside and the inside is not going to win any awards for best ambiance. It's a diner. With the clasic 1950's (merged with Mexican) feel, it's a good place for a quick lunch. The business changed hands several years ago, which is why you will now find really good Mexican food and (sometimes) less than fluent English-speakers. However, they are always nice (smile and the whole world smiles with you). Sometimes I'll go there for a burger, but 95% of the time it's for thier tacos (yum!) or other Mexican food. Our order took around 10 minutes to fill, which feels like a long time when you're really hungry. Curly fries and malt were average. However, the "BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger" I ordered was around $6 (yikes!), had a SMALL patty, a DRIZZLE of BBQ sauce, a small slice of cheese that wasn't even melted, no lettuce, no tomato, no ketchup, no mustard, and a shriveled small piece of bacon. Pretty much the worst burger I've seen in a long time from a fast food restaurant. Never going there again, I'm afraid. read more

I hate writing negative reviews. I really do. So I'll keep it short. We stopped here because the boy was starving to death (teenagers and their bottomless stomachs!) I normally get excited at the sight of a small town greasy spoon, because there's usually a treasure waiting inside. This, however, was no treasure. We ordered to go, and after an interminably long wait, we were handed our order. As we got back on the road, and began digging through the contents, we found that they had screwed our order up rather badly. The pastrami melt that my spouse and I were going to split had become a patty melt, and my son's order was missing it's fries, as well as being an incredibly anemic looking burger compared to what was pictured on the menu. Yellow lettuce, squishy bun, way too much mayo (which my son swore wasn't mayo, but a substance similar to Miracle Whip). Considering that it wasn't exactly cheap, either, it left us feeling pretty irritated.
