Think of this not as a winery as you would in the California style. It's a liqueur tasting that enhances the finer agriculture of Vermont. Ginger liqueur is wonderful- sweet with strong flavors and I already knew it would make wonderful mixed drinks. The chocolate liqueur was delicious as was the apple maple wine. All sweet so go with the perspective of how to enrich a wine based cocktail or a champagne cocktail. If you're a dessert wine lover it's definitely for you. We ended up buying ginger and apple maple. Go try out the tasting and decide for yourself!

Kim walked us through each sip and went further in recommending a stellar restaurant in nearby Brattleboro. Kim was so friendly and kind to all five of us, even though she was in the midst of a tasting with another group. This didn't effect the attention she showed us in the slightest. We will be ordering their cranberry wine two months from due to how lovely the experience and the taste was. If you're in the area and would like a variety of dry to sweet fruit wines and liqueurs, please stop by and tell Kim hello for us!

Bought two cases for my wedding and people were begging to take bottles home with them. It's been months and I still get people asking where to get more wine! They have tastings on Sundays, or you can call and schedule one. The best. Simply, the best.

She is NOT a drinker, never mind a wine consumer. But every once in a while I can get her tipsy!! Anyhow, I just knew she love this cozy winery that specializes in artisan table wines. As this classification of wines can have serious fruity overtones, my wife loves them. Excuse me while I reach for a glass of 'Rasberry" !! The Elderberry wine is made from HAND-PICKED FRUIT !! This speaks volumes of how much care they put into their product, and the results speak for themselves. Being the only drinker in my house, unfortunately I have to consume the whole bottle myself usually. But the upside is, I get to consume the whole bottle myself usually... The only complaint about Coffin Cellars is the price...it's simply too low. I hope they get brave enough to charge more for their product so that they can stay in business and keep my supply coming !!! Thanks, Peter from Salisbury

On the drive back from Montpelier to Portland, following the pilgrimage made by many a New Englander to witness solar eclipse totality, I had to get off the road, out of traffic, and find a restroom stat. It was divine intervention that made me pull off that specific exit. It seemed dead amongst the nearby businesses in that little enclave, but a hint of human activity pulled me towards Vermont Spirits. After my coy request and use of the restroom (what a relief!), I stood at the bar and asked about their line of products. Barkeep Meg was nice enough to allow me to sample some of their offerings, including the super secret juice! Also really appreciated being able to talk with the chief, Randy, and exchange eclipse experiences. Really friendly folks, and it truly kept my sanity in check. Thanks for the conversation and allowing this wayward traveller use of your restroom. My bladder thanks you! I've already cooked up a couple cocktails with the No. 14. Delicious stuff!

The owners, who are multi generational farmers work the land, share story behind how their wines came to be and some of what you can expect to taste. It's unpretentious, and feels like you're visiting a family, friend or cousin. Their tastings allow you to try whatever your palate is drawn to, or you can sample all of their offerings. Feel free to bring your own food including cheese and crackers, or sweet confections to pair with the wines. Our three favorites were the maple wine, the St. Croix, and the ruby red. The apple and peach wines are also very unique and flavorful. The winery specializes in cold-weather varietals, and whether you are a fan of sweet or dry wines you will likely find something that hits the spot.

They have a beautiful front porch overlooking their vineyard and barn. The best part was Mark and Pepper, their cat and dog who hung out with us while tasting! Thank you Amy!
