A locally owned and operated package store serving the greater Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. A big space for wine cellar which has a temperature controlled area. Nice selection for a small neighborhood spirits establishment. Very friendly and helpful staff with good customer service. Nice neat and clean maintenance. You can make your own six pack beers, mix and match. This is the only store I've found with a wide variety of craft beers for sale by the bottle/can. And if you build a six pack they give you a discount. Take an additional 5% off case purchases. If you love Bourbon they have some pretty rare finds as well. Amazing beer selection and great prices on liquor as well. A good location to stop by in Decatur, GA. Big selection of miniatures if you need to grab some for variety or quick shots to take to a music event or something where you don't want to buy expensive drinks on the inside. They have some great Indian beers like Taj Mahal and King Fisher, Indian Rum like Old Monk and Indian Single Malt Whiskey's like Amrut. Ask at the store for complete details on volume discounts which include, Wines 10% off cases, 5% off half-cases. Includes mixed cases. Spirits 5% off cases, all the same product. Beers 5% off any 6 bottles of beer, 10% off any 12. Includes all beers, even 12oz. Cigars, buy five cigars, get one of equal or lesser value free. I went to this liquor store and had the weirdest shopping experience which left me very uncomfortable, and sure to never go back. Upon entering the store, I realized I was alone with the clerk, who seemed normal enough at first. He helped me find my items, but while doing so, told me that I was "Looking very good," and asked to HUG ME. When I told him, "No, I would not like that at all," he said, "but you are looking very good today?" I tried to ignore it and get the rest of my items. When I was checking out, he once again asked to hug me, and he acted very disappointed when I insisted no, and rushed out the door. This is so inappropriate. Especially when it's a man talking to a young female who is alone. Would not recommend. read more

For five years I've been driving northeast on Scott Blvd / Lawrenceville Hwy, and each time I've passed Decatur Wine & Spirits on my right, I've thought, "Wow, what a sketchy looking package store." I'm sorry, Decatur Wine & Spirits, for my unfounded, superficial judgment. You're a great beer, wine, and liquor store. Better selection than the Decatur Package Store on Clairmont. No less sketch than Toco Hills Giant Package Store on N Druid Hills Rd. The single-bottle beer, cider, and malt beverages selection is AMAZING. No more assembling six-packs at Publix for me! I especially appreciate that most of the bottles are kept in refrigerators, so I don't have to wait until they get cold to drink them. Seeing personal favs such as Mike's Hard Blood Orange Hard Lemonade and Abita Strawberry Harvest makes me happy, although don't worry, there are IPAs and Belgian beers and stouts and the all rest for folks who like those styles. What I appreciate most is the plentiful selection of single serving bottles of wine and champagne. I live by myself and generally have poor impulse control. I don't need to be polishing full bottles of anything in one night, and if I buy at Publix or Kroger, I'm limited to [yellow tail] champagnes with the resealable cork. Thanks for helping me to drink responsibly at home, Decatur Wine & Spirits! My only complaint is that the divided highway makes it a pain to get to the store. If you're traveling southwest on Lawrenceville Hwy, you're going to need to turn left on Church St, make a uwie somewhere, and then turn right on Lawrenceville Hwy. If you need to travel southwest back home, as I do, you're going to need to make a uwie on Orion Dr by the QuikTrip to get on the correct side of the road to return homeward. read more

You only get one chance to make a good first impression, and unfortunately Decatur Wine & Spirits missed it with me. Based on other positive reviews, maybe it was because I was on a specific quest that I felt let down. I had just picked up some Indian food at Zyka and wanted a chilled bottle of white to go with my Malai Kofta. I was directed to a small cooler with a very limited white wine selection which were all priced a buck or two higher than other retailers. I have been going patronizing this liquor store for over 10 years. Last week, was the last straw. I will never go back. Customers be warned. Mostly, I purchase single beers. Several times, I noticed I was being charged higher prices than what was listed in the cooler. One time, I said something and the clerk was gracious enough to change the price to what was reflected on the shelf. Last week, however, the clerk was not amenable to do so. While though it was only a few cents, the point is, the price was marked one thing and it rang up higher. No matter what, you, as the business, should always take care of your customer (s); sadly they did not. I will add another concern, which adds more justification for me to write this review. Several months back, I asked one of the clerks to order me a 4 pack can of Carlsberg. It took Forever, but he finally got in a 6 pack. Not what I asked for, but I bought it anyway. Each occasion after this, I would check for the Carlsberg. Nothing. One time I asked the clerk ( the same guy who wouldn't correct the price of my beer last week), where is the Carlsberg. His answer, they didn't give me any. I will try again. I kept waiting for beer, and it never appeared. You didn't try hard enough. You have a lost a loyal customer. It's become part of my weekly ritual to stop by Decatur Wine & Spirits on my way home from work on Fridays to browse their excellent selection of craft beers and to take home whatever new six pack they've stocked that week. Yep, just about every time I stop by, there's a new beer on the shelves to try. A good beer. Founders, Dogfish Head, Bells, Duck Rabbit, Lagunitas, Stone - these guys carry the good stuff. And not just six packs, either. A whole rack of bombers (Allagash, Great Divide, Terrapin, etc) awaits the discerning beer lover. And need I mention the fine array of Belgian ales? Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you - this place has a damn fine beer selection. And the guys who work there are friendly, helpful, and always happy to engage in beer talk. Not into beer? No problem. They've also got a great selection of wine, liquor, and cigars. This week I took a break from my normal Friday routine and stopped by on Tuesday. The Ace Hardware Store of package stores -- helpful and knowledgeable staff! They have reasonable prices and a nice little wine selection with some good 90+ point wines for less than $18. They have a decent beer selection for their size, mixers in the corner, and they're starting to carry accessories, such as whiskey stones. They're a very professional staff, so expect to get carded every time. Soo...not recommended for you folks under 21 and trying to score some booze. read more

Awesome package store with a Great selection of wine! Owner operated who is really friendly and extremely knowledgeable about wines. I have lived in Decatur over 30 years and I remember when this place used to be a dump! Wow, how this place has changed! It's been completely renovated and updated...it's clean, well-stocked and has a beautiful wine room and they even fit a cool little humidor room for their cigars. It's like a little oasis of spirits on the dry, dusty hwy. It's my new favorite package store and even though I live closer to Decatur Package, I will drive a little farther for the selection and friendliness here. read more

Great place for obscure brews. I went specifically to find Bell's Hopslam and was informed that while he carried the brand it was so popular that I was unlikely to find it outside of a bar. Unfortunately he wouldn't take my number to call me when it came in, but I was still able to find a handful of other IPAs to try out. My least favorite thing is assembling my own six-packs. Sometimes I just want a six-pack of Two Hearted Ale without having to pay a per bottle price. Although the prices aren't too bad. There's a discount for 6 and 12 pack assemblies. For such a small and obscure looking place, their inventory is mighty impressive. I'm a beer guy so I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the place, but their beer stock is well varied with offerings from the majority of the craft brewers from around the US. Lots of Belgians too, and while prices are always up and down where ever you go they're pretty competitive for the area. read more

My favorite cigar shop. Their selection isn't huge, but it is always very fresh. The owner is very knowledgeable, and all the staff are extremely friendly. There's no smoking in here, which is a plus in my book: I don't have to choke on ten other peoples' cigars, and can smell what I am looking for. I love their wine selection too. read more

This is hands-down the best liquor store in Atlanta. There are much bigger ones, but none with the selection and value here. I found more interesting beverages here than I have in much larger stores. Their wine selection is phenomenal. They don't have a million wines, but the ones they have are all good. I also really like their cigar humidor. I've found cigars here that I could not find anywhere else, and they obviously take good care of the humidity. Overall, this is one of my favorite shops. I've only been in Atlanta a little while, and I've already been to this place many times. read more

When you call and ask for a specific wine and they tell you they have it and then you go there and they don't have it it makes you feel less good about the company. However when you leave your number for them to call you back about the wine and they don't call you back you think less of the company. Then when you call them again and leave the information and they don't call you back you just think they are a bunch of idiots. Don't shop where idiots own the place. read more

This place was awesome in supplying our liquor, wine and beer for our wedding reception. Ory was an amazing help for our wedding at the Old Decatur Courthouse -- literally a mile away and easy pick up prior to the big day. He has helped plan more than 100 weddings/celebrations and you won't find a more knowledgeable staff plus great value on alcohol with quite the selection. We were guided on the number of servings, brands (flavor and quality) and best price, economical and practical (as a budget conscience bride, I really appreciated that). We even saved by returning some of the wine our guests did not drink (but you cannot return any wine with ruined labels or any white wine that has chilled). He even helped us come up with our signature drink, peach mojito, welcoming our out of town guests to Atlanta. We saved over a couple thousand bucks by having a wedding venue that lets you BYOB and even had some leftover alcohol which we brought back to the after party or gave away as parting gifts.
