I came here a couple weeks ago on the recommendation of a coworker. The tea was good and so was the bun. It was a fun experience. The tea was very, very hot so I recommend relaxing and letting it cool off for a while before drinking it. I wish they would serve the tea in real ceramic cups though, but it did taste very good. I also went to the grocery store in the same little mall and the grocery store had a lot of fun stuff as well as prepared food for sale. Service was ok. The cashier told me, "You are in the most popular place" and he helped me choose food as I was unfamiliar with the menu. It feels more like a fast casual place or even a fast food restaurant. It feels pretty rushed with a big crowd waiting to get their food. It was nice to try the Irani tea. I think I would prefer if this place raised their prices a bit, so maybe a little less crowd, and served their food on real plates and cups. But it is what it is. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon and got the irani chai. Overall, it was mid at best. The chai came in a paper cup but it just tasted off. It was super thick and had a nice buttery scent which was promising. When we tried it though, it had a super sour flavor, as if the milk had gone bad. I'm unsure what was giving it that flavor. Was doing some errands and parked nearby this place. I had never heard of it so I decided to give it a try after viewing their menu online. The inside of this place is beautiful! They have really nice chandeliers and seating is comfy. I tried the zafrani chai and onion samosa. I usually have Indian chai and wanted something different. I would say the zafrani chai is decent, it already comes sweetened and has unique taste. The onion samosa was also good, it's just filled with onions, nothing else and is more on the salty side. The service could have been better, I walked in and the man behind the counter did not greet me,just waited until I was ready to order. I have fond childhood memories of bun maska, so when I found this place on yelp, I had to give it a try. We got the zafrani chai and bun maska. The chai was served in a flimsy paper cup, and the bun was also served in a togo container. The place is aesthetically pleasing; however, it is designed more for a takeout than a dine-in experience. We were very underwhelmed with the food here. Nothing tasted fresh. We got the chicken 65 with Rumali roti, lukhmi, bun malai, and shahi tukda. Nothing was freshly prepared or hot, it was all room temperature and the chicken 65 felt overly spiced and not balanced, and the chicken was dry. The lukhmi didn't come with any chutney or anything like that, and the pastry was cold. The shahi tukda had a very bad flavor, and the bread tasted like old oil. Happy to find Deccan Morsels open in Sunnyvale. The parking, queues and crowd at Fremont location made it impossible to enjoy the experience. This store is located in Cala Center a few doors down the Apni Mandi/Apna Bazar grocery store. Spacious parking lot. Loved loved the famous Irani Chai and Chicken 65 wrapped in Rumali roti. The first sip of Irani Chai instantly reminded me of the chai from Niloufer Cafe back in Hyderabad. Most guests were pairing the Chai with Bun Maska. They had some interesting new items on the menu e.g. Bun Cutlet, Sulaimani Chai, etc. The interiors are similar to the Fremont and Tracy locations setting up a faux Nizami palace ambiance. Ordered the irani chai off doordash to my work. Came hot and it was fresh. The taste confused me though lol and it has a funny after taste. I was at the CVS next door and saw this new restaurant so I went inside for a quick look. Apparently Deccan Morsels has another location in Fremont that is a fav for many people and this is their second location. The inside is really cute, it has these chandeliers and gold colored ceiling tiles. It is more of a cafe to me than a restaurant as they have more smaller items along with chai tea. I ordered the Irani chai as that is their signature drink. May be I am just not used to it but it is very creamy, like there is a lot of half-n-half in it. Not exactly how i like my chai tea but I will try their food next time. read more

Love this place. I'm a frequent here go there almost 2-3 times per week. Have tried most of their vegetarian items. All of them are amazing. Love their Paneer 65 roll and Irani chai the most. They see people standing outside but don't have courtesy to come and tell if they are opening or not. Some people were waiting from before 11. We waited beyond 11:32 but they were still closed. They still didn't have the courtesy to come out and talk. One of thise Bay Area joints that take customers for granted--all 10 potential customers left without acknowledgment from the owner. One poor doordash driver was still waiting (for 15+ mins) for them to open the door or cancel order. The staff callously went about their day inside. read more

I first went to Deccan Morsels because I was interested in the Zafrani Chai. It is absolutely delicious ...thick, creamy and tasty with saffron on top. I went back many times for the chai, and I noticed the menu and had always wanted to try the rumali roti. I am vegetarian and I saw they have Gobi 65. Today I finally ordered a rumali roti but they were out of the Gobi, so they gave me a paneer curry instead. It is superb and exceeded my expectations!!! The roti is so soft, thin and chewy and very large. The portion of paneer is very generous. The paneer is super tasty and reminds me of a great Kerala/South Indian panner fry. Next time I will order an extra roti because it's soooo good and the paneer portion is so generous that I would have loved to have another roti. The food was freshly made on the spot.. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. I look forward to having the Gobi 65 next time. Even though the place has many more nonveg options, the vegetarian paneer is perfect for veg eaters as I am sure the Gobi 65 is too. I'll be back for sure. read more

It is also disappointing the tea is pre-made ... so that makes the tea quite bitter, but everything also already has sugar so if your preference is for tea without sugar, you won't be able to find that here. The please in a good Irani chai is when it's slow brewed fresh -made to order and the creaminess comes from raw mile vs. adding condensed milk! I would have also liked the option for the bun to be served warm with the chai... not toasted but the heaps of butter need to be melting as you pull it apart to dip in your pipping hot chai cup. read more
