    Paneer Pakora
    Arvind S.

Saw this truck a few days ago and had wanted to visit for a while. Went late on a Sunday night around 10PM, not many options around. Food: 3.5 stars (I couldn't round off to 4) The Paneer Pakora was REALLY good. I saw that it said $10 for 7 pieces and thought that was expensive compared to the other dishes. But the price was totally justified given the thick slice of paneer. They were really generous with the portion there. Usually, you get a thin slice of paneer in most places. It was delicious as well. The other dishes, not as great. Got the Stuffed Kulcha with chole, and I have had this dish before elsewhere, I did not think the chole was super flavorful. It was okay, I'd say. My friend got the Dahi Batata Sev Puri which was average too, your typically dahi batata sev puri tends to have more of a burst of flavors. Also the Pani Puri wasn't a good choice here. They did not have an Imli based pani (water) and just had the mint water. I'd skip this dish. Will definitely come back for the paneer pakora and maybe the thali, but not the other chaat items which don't have the full masala chole (kulcha didn't have this!) They were very nice to offer us some complimentary chai!

i've passed these food trucks along el camino in sunnyvale so many times and finally tried them out. shahi chaat n chai mainly has live pani puri, chaat, and some other plate meals. i got the dahi batata sev poori ($8.99). it tasted good but was overflowing with yogurt so a bit hard to eat and got a little soggy toward the end. it's a little expensive given the dish/ingredients/ambiance. there is limited seating in the parking lot. they take cash and card.

I remember going to the previous Sunnyvale location sometime back. Back then, the Pani Puri was decent and the service was good. I visited the place recently and had pani puri. I didn't like the taste at all! - Most of the flavors were pretty bad: The only decent flavor was Mint. Kaala Katta, Khatta Meeta, Pomegranate and Mango tasted pretty bland. - They literally add the smallest amount of filling possible. Like the smallest piece of Aloo/Onion/Channa inside the puri. - Pani was very cold: I'm not looking for perfect room temperature, but it was way too cold in my option. - The Puri was way too crispy for me. Kinda felt odd after a point. No onion/cilantro on the side either. Disappointing overall!

It's located just inside of a used car parking lot. We ordered a dahi batata sev puri, stuffed kulcha, veggie thali and gulab jamun. The dahi batata sev puri was good but that's kind of where it ended. The stuffed kulcha was pretty disappointing as a dish and priced quite high for what it actually is - baked chickpeas in a bun with some garnishes, no real flavor to it. On the veggie thali the paneer gravy was good but the rice was overcooked and the dal lacked flavor. With the number of options (superior at that) in this area, can't see us coming back.

This is in a used car lot so sometimes parking is easier some times it can be a bit of a challenge. There are 3 good size tables for seating. You order at the truck and they bring their food out to you. Our order was incorrect but it wasn't a big deal because the food is so delicious. I like that it's Indian food with a California spin. The complimentary chai was very delicious. Will definitely go back to try other options.

Best pakora ever. The sauces are authentic and super flavorful.

The food is delicious and the service is relatively fast. I had chai and mixed veggie pakora once at this place and I was hooked. This time it ordered pista lassi (trying it for the first time) dahi vada, pani poori, paneer pakora and Shahi chai. Perfect place to try Indian street food. The food truck is located in a parking lot providing parking space.

Variety of channas and Mix Veggie Pakora

Four of us came to Shahi Chaat on a Monday night at around 9pm looking for some food at a somewhat late time. Glad we came upon this place because we all really enjoyed it! I am no Indian food connoisseur but these channas were delicious along with the variety of breads. Everything tasted very fresh and the fried foods were freshly fried (super hot to the touch). The veggie pakora was delicious along with the two chutneys it came with. We were super full by the end, and it seemed very reasonably priced. The food truck is located in a used parking lot, but the ambience is really cute- there is music and lights and plenty of seating. The lady who helped us was also very friendly. Would come back!

Great food. Pudina pani puri is great. I loved the Chole bhature and the Shashi thali

Misal Pav & Vada Misal - Absolutely loved the Misal! Authentic flavor, perfect spice level, and so hearty. I especially appreciated that it wasn't just sprouted moong--there was moong, matki, yellow peas, black-eyed peas, and green peas. A true protein-packed bowl. Two thumbs up Vada Pav - Another hit! We devoured it Sabudana Vada - Crispy outside, soft inside, and just the right size. Didn't care much for the chutney though. Sabudana Khichdi - This one didn't work for me; it leaned a bit too sweet. Ukadiche Modak & Puranpoli - The stars of the meal! Highly recommend both. The modak was soft, pillowy, and melt-in-your-mouth with a great dough-to-filling balance. The Puranpoli was super soft, ultra-thin dough, and perfectly flavored stuffing--excellent in both taste and quantity Sol Kadhi - Just okay for me; not something I'd return specifically for. Kokam Sharbat - Loved it! Overall, a wonderful spot for authentic Maharashtrian flavors with warm, welcoming staff. I'd definitely come back!

So I was hoping for some amazing food from here. I haven't seen many Maharashtrian restaurants, so was very excited. Here is all I ordered: - Kothimbir Vadi: this is absolutely delicious. The flavor and seasoning is top notch. Loved it. - Sabudana Vada: we make this often at home and is one of my favorite Maharashtrian dishes. This was not bad. A bit bland for my liking. But was fried well and I loved the crispness. - Sabudana Khichdi: this was not good. I make this at home and what was sent to me was not cooked properly. Most of the grains were not cooked, and was too bland. - Bhakri: this was awful. No taste. No flavor. It was this white roti that was sent. Not at all like the Bhakri I've eaten in Maharashtra. - Puranpoli: I was super excited to try this as I absolutely love Puranpoli. But this didn't hit the mark. It was ok. Needed to be sweeter. There are many other things in the menu and I would love to try next time I'm in the area.

I ordered the egg biryani, butter chicken, and their friday curry flight that came with the choice of 3 curries, a salad, raita, and naan. The biryani was super flavorful and not dry, and the egg paired with it well. All the curries were spicy and delicious, honestly not much more to say about it. I will say their raita is not my favorite, its just thick plain yogurt. I ordered online and I had to wait a little when I got there but that was okay. The interior is also spacious will lots of seating.

Local Pakistani artwork adorning the walls. Delicious grilled meat smells wafting around as well. ***FOOD: we got chicken 65, naan and samosa chaat sans yogurt. *chicken 65-3/5- this was almost beetroot red in color. In my naivety I hoped it was some natural food color using beetroot. But I later learnt from them that it was not. It left me appalled at the liberal use of such toxic artificial colors. Colors aside, the chicken itself was delicious. But I will make sure to ask them beforehand next time and order something that doesn't have colors. *naan-5/5- this was amazing. Hot from the tandoor. It wasn't charred at the bottom. It was light and large. It was clear that it was made by someone who knew their craft. I will come back here just for the naan. *samosa chaat-3/5- this made me sick, I had an upset tummy for a few days after. It was hot day so I m assuming they had problems with their chutney or maybe it was the samosa with the potato filling. Upset tummy aside, the chaat flavors were decent, not the best of the lot but decent nonetheless.

First off, the delivery was a smooth process, dot on time and packaged with such precision. Ankush, who runs the show at Delhicacies came to do the honors and as well left detailed instruction on how to go about preparing one of the starter dishes that we had ordered (Bhalle Papdi chaat that is). The menu we chose included Bhalle Paapdi Chaat, Cocktail Samosas, Paneer Tikka Masala, Chana Masala, Baingan Bharta, accompanied by Roomali Roti and Lacchay Pyaaz as a side salad. The Bhalle Paapdi Chaat was an instant crowd-pleaser, with the perfect balance of crispy papdi, fresh bhalle, cool sweet yogurt, tangy tamarind along with green sauces, a secret masala powder and a garnish of beetroot , pomegranate and cilantro. All of these were packed separately and instructions were provided (step by step) to prepare the end result which tasted out of the world good. It was refreshing yet packed with flavors that kept everyone asking for seconds. The Cocktail Samosas were golden, crisp, and filled with a spiced potato mixture that made them an ideal finger food--perfectly bite-sized and not greasy at all. For the main course, the Paneer Tikka Masala (PTM) stole the show with its rich, velvety sauce that coated the tender paneer in just the right amount of spice. The flavors were balanced yet bold, making it a standout dish. The earthy flavor in the paneer made it finger licking good and definitely was the biggest hit of the evening. The Chana Masala had the perfect texture--soft chickpeas simmered in a well-spiced gravy that had just the right amount of heat and tang. Cubes of paneer in there definitely made it a good overall combination and complemented with the PTM. The smoky and flavorful Baingan Bharta added an earthy depth to the meal as well. The eggplant was roasted beautifully, bringing out its natural flavors, which paired wonderfully with the Romali Roti. The roti was soft, thin, and warm, making it the ideal vehicle to soak up the gravies. We did end up heating the rotis in our microwave oven for about 10-15 seconds in batches and they remained perfect in their texture and taste. The Lacchay Pyaaz--freshly sliced onions with a sprinkle of masala--added a crunchy, refreshing bite to balance the richness of the other dishes. Overall, Delhicacies delivered an out of the world authentic North Indian culinary experience with each dish tasting as though it was prepared with care and precision. The food was flavorful, perfectly spiced, and served fresh. Our guests were impressed, and we couldn't have been happier with the quality of food and service of delivery. If you're looking for reliable and delicious Indian catering, Delhicacies should be at the top of your list! Give them a chance and thank me later. You are welcome!!!
