I remember going to the previous Sunnyvale location sometime back. Back then, the Pani Puri was decent and the service was good. I visited the place recently and had pani puri. I didn't like the taste at all! - Most of the flavors were pretty bad: The only decent flavor was Mint. Kaala Katta, Khatta Meeta, Pomegranate and Mango tasted pretty bland. - They literally add the smallest amount of filling possible. Like the smallest piece of Aloo/Onion/Channa inside the puri. - Pani was very cold: I'm not looking for perfect room temperature, but it was way too cold in my option. - The Puri was way too crispy for me. Kinda felt odd after a point. No onion/cilantro on the side either. Disappointing overall!

    Paneer Pakora

Saw this truck a few days ago and had wanted to visit for a while. Went late on a Sunday night around 10PM, not many options around. Food: 3.5 stars (I couldn't round off to 4) The Paneer Pakora was REALLY good. I saw that it said $10 for 7 pieces and thought that was expensive compared to the other dishes. But the price was totally justified given the thick slice of paneer. They were really generous with the portion there. Usually, you get a thin slice of paneer in most places. It was delicious as well. The other dishes, not as great. Got the Stuffed Kulcha with chole, and I have had this dish before elsewhere, I did not think the chole was super flavorful. It was okay, I'd say. My friend got the Dahi Batata Sev Puri which was average too, your typically dahi batata sev puri tends to have more of a burst of flavors. Also the Pani Puri wasn't a good choice here. They did not have an Imli based pani (water) and just had the mint water. I'd skip this dish. Will definitely come back for the paneer pakora and maybe the thali, but not the other chaat items which don't have the full masala chole (kulcha didn't have this!) They were very nice to offer us some complimentary chai!

i've passed these food trucks along el camino in sunnyvale so many times and finally tried them out. shahi chaat n chai mainly has live pani puri, chaat, and some other plate meals. i got the dahi batata sev poori ($8.99). it tasted good but was overflowing with yogurt so a bit hard to eat and got a little soggy toward the end. it's a little expensive given the dish/ingredients/ambiance. there is limited seating in the parking lot. they take cash and card.

It's located just inside of a used car parking lot. We ordered a dahi batata sev puri, stuffed kulcha, veggie thali and gulab jamun. The dahi batata sev puri was good but that's kind of where it ended. The stuffed kulcha was pretty disappointing as a dish and priced quite high for what it actually is - baked chickpeas in a bun with some garnishes, no real flavor to it. On the veggie thali the paneer gravy was good but the rice was overcooked and the dal lacked flavor. With the number of options (superior at that) in this area, can't see us coming back.

This is in a used car lot so sometimes parking is easier some times it can be a bit of a challenge. There are 3 good size tables for seating. You order at the truck and they bring their food out to you. Our order was incorrect but it wasn't a big deal because the food is so delicious. I like that it's Indian food with a California spin. The complimentary chai was very delicious. Will definitely go back to try other options.

Best pakora ever. The sauces are authentic and super flavorful.

The food is delicious and the service is relatively fast. I had chai and mixed veggie pakora once at this place and I was hooked. This time it ordered pista lassi (trying it for the first time) dahi vada, pani poori, paneer pakora and Shahi chai. Perfect place to try Indian street food. The food truck is located in a parking lot providing parking space.

Variety of channas and Mix Veggie Pakora

Four of us came to Shahi Chaat on a Monday night at around 9pm looking for some food at a somewhat late time. Glad we came upon this place because we all really enjoyed it! I am no Indian food connoisseur but these channas were delicious along with the variety of breads. Everything tasted very fresh and the fried foods were freshly fried (super hot to the touch). The veggie pakora was delicious along with the two chutneys it came with. We were super full by the end, and it seemed very reasonably priced. The food truck is located in a used parking lot, but the ambience is really cute- there is music and lights and plenty of seating. The lady who helped us was also very friendly. Would come back!

Great food. Pudina pani puri is great. I loved the Chole bhature and the Shashi thali

Food was really good, they have love pani puri stall with great flavors with good service. I will definitely visit again.

Located right off of N Saratoga ave, between hwy280 and Stevens Creek blvd, on the east aide of the street. You will find this gem in the evenings. This place has all the meats that a down foo was raised on, but my go to is always the Al Pastor! Perfectly marinated, huge portions, and even with the pineapple and sautéed onions deliver an amazing plate experience. Now what puts these guys a league above! You get to put your own choice of up to 3 different salsa's. Green and flavorful, orange habanero heat, or spicy red pepper goodness. Ample extras of radish, jalapeño, or onions and habanero slices for the folks who just have guts of steel. This place has such a following, there have been times when I was 10 people deep waiting in line to order. They are quick, yet always tasty. Give your tastebuds a treat!

Overpriced, underwhelmed, and left hungry. Avoid this place…read moreat all costs. They don't advertise their prices anywhere on the truck, which should have been my first red flag. It turns out that's just a tactic to ambush you at checkout. I ended up paying an astronomical $27.50 for just one burrito and a single quesadilla. For that price, you would expect a feast, but the portions were incredibly small. The food itself was completely unappetizing, very little meat, and poor quality. To make matters worse, the customer service was downright miserable. The person taking the order acted like my business was a massive inconvenience to their day. On top of charging premium restaurant prices, they don't even provide a single table or chair. You are forced to stand on the pavement just to eat your overpriced, bite-sized meal. Save your hard-earned money and go somewhere else that actually values its customers and serves decent food.

They have interesting dishes with paneer and chicken as well. We ordered two dishes- Leela lasun keema - This dish was intriguing, with cheese, grated egg, and a rich, spicy gravy. The portion size was generous; a single person won't be able to finish it with just three breads. It was very filling, we took back home the leftover and enjoyed it later with some rotis. They have another version of this- "kachu" with runny eggs instead of grated eggs.. well thought option! Volcano egg biryani- The dish is as interesting as its name suggests. The base is an omelette, and the rice is flavorful with bell peppers, finely chopped veggies, and aromatic spices. The center is with a tomato-based curry. The cheese on the side was amazing, and I loved it. The spicy guava drink is super refreshing with a playful mix of spice, salt, sourness, and the sweetness of guava. I really enjoyed it! They have music playing and the place is lit, creating a total vibe for spending time in the evening on a lazy weekend/ after work, or post-workout. The food is pure indulgence and covered our protein requirements with eggs, along with some fat to burn off. Kinda guilt free. Also, they have games, garba events and other many interesting things going on at different times. Superb vibes, never disappoints! Conveniently located in Sunnyvale - easy to find parking. Ask the owners for their recommendations based on your preferences.
