This place must be legit af or something because to accept the crap level of service here must mean the food is delishhhhhhh. My husband likes the food so we come here from time to time but I die every single time. My visit this past week was insane lol. I ordered at 10:28am. Two dishes and two drinks. That's it, you guys. At 11am, they told me another 10-15 minutes. (Which is the estimate they seem to give everyone no matter your order size btw). We didn't freaking end up getting our food until 11:37!! Wth?? My friend brought me here and it's a cute authentic North Indian cafe with breakfast, snacks, baked goods, coffee and tea. They post the food menu outside so u need to look at it before entering which is a little inconvenient when it's cold outside. The drink menu is inside. U need to press the bell button at the front to get service as the owner is usually in the back cooking/baking. We ordered the Shami Kabab and Paratha, Aloo ki tikki chat, and Aloo paratha. The Shami kabab is meat with a flat bread plain. Comes with onions and a white dipping sauce. The Aloo paratha is the potato paratha i really enjoyed. My favorite was the Aloo ki tikki chat. It is cauliflower veggie patti covered in a sauce with chick peas.. a little sweet and savory and spicy all at the same time. Everything went well together. So I wanted to get this out upfront that I went for this place for halwa puree and try it out. I am coming from a background of Pakistani halwa puree eating at the street food spots in Karachi often. This place had a more Indian taste version of the food This place was empty when we got there, first people there. There was only outdoor seating as well, but although it was windy, the setup tent was nice so it was not cold. The food came in good timing about 15-18min as the guy at counter said 15min, so that was spot on. The food came in a tray, and I asked in mine for specifically no aloo so they gave more choley which was nice of them. The choley tasted more like a karahi type of flavor and less of a choley type, and the aloo (tasted from my guests tray, had more of a gobee taste not aloo. The puree was thicker and had a different look, texture, and flavor than the puree I am used to at Pakistani places or back in Karachi. The halwa was also missing the look in color and the sweetness as well. So it was a little disappointing but maybe that's how it is where the owners from here are from. But def not the taste was expecting The masala chai was decent as well. I'd recommend this place to those who know what type of food offered here and like it but for people who want a Pakistani style halwa puree I would tell em maybe go to tandoori and curry in Fremont etc. read more

I visited Kettle again for breakfast, and it seems like either the chef or staff has changed. Their Pakistani-style halwa puri is no longer the same as before--instead, they now serve chole bhature, which leans more toward Indian-style flavors. Unfortunately, the overall quality of food has declined compared to when they first opened. Since this was a pickup order, I can't comment much on the dine-in experience or ambiance, but they need to improve their cooking to bring back the quality they once had. We have been regular customers and always order the same 4 things..Chicken fried rice, veg noodles, chilli paneer and chilli chicken. We loved this place so much that we recommended it to so many of our friends to go and try but our last order disappointed us unbelievably. We had a few friends visiting from India and wanted to try good indo chinese. Since this place has always been our favorite, we placed our regular order and everything was awful. Too much soya sauce in noodles, fried rice had too much salt and were very dry. Chicken was again too salty and chewy and paneer was exactly like rubber. We had to trash the entire order and got pizza instead. Highly disappointed and sad that our fav place is no longer on our list of favorites :( read more

Cute little place famous for North Indian/Delhi snacks. Fully halal. Great service. Very popular among the desi community in the Bay Area - especially for those seeking a nostalgia trip. I went to this place this afternoon and was disappointed for 3 reasons 1. Service time : It took 40 min for my food to arrive which was a small Order of 2 parathas . I had to follow up 2 times to serve my food 2. Cleanliness : I was asked to sit in the outside patio. The sever quickly provided me with the chairs to sit and placed us near the table which was yet to be cleaned . There was no attention paid by the server to clean the table and despite of reminding them to clean the table, it took the staff to clean the table post 20 min of my request. The smell was floating around making it unhygienic to sit there 3. I've been in town from Hawaii for a few weeks and I've been here twice. I stumbled upon this place purely because I needed a snack to hold me over for dinner. My mom and I drove from Fairfield for a meeting and to follow have lunch with family. We thought it was just a simple bakery but it wasn't. We were pleasantly surprised with such flavors. The waiter suggested Samosa Chat and cauliflower paratha the first time we were there and it was so delicious! So simple and so flavorful. We had the mango lassi to help our quench our thirst. That was so flavorful. The next time we went back, a week later, we tried Murgh Malai, Kathi Kabab, and the Vegetable Cutlet. Literally everything we had since stumbling upon Kettle'e has been fabulously delicious. I live in Hawaii and we don't get to enjoy all these flavors as ready and easily. I went to kettle's with high hopes. The menu had me craving some great food. I got the murg malai roll and cold coffee. The cold coffee was good, not too sweet. Although half the glass was just foam. Me and my sister went around 2 pm. there were no customers at that time. we ordered kabab paratha and samosa chaat. after waiting for atleast 20 minute. i ask about my orde. the server said they make everyt fresh so it takes longer! another 10 minutes went by and our one paratha with one shami kabab arriced. When asked about the samosa chaat, he told us they were having some issues with the frying oil ? wgafs that supposed to mean?? Finally it came. it looked ok but had a strong achar taste !' We finished the food somehow as we were hungry but I'm definitely NOT going back!' This is the reason we stopped going yaman and curry's too as the food takes very long to come! it's sad, they don't seem to care either! the owner was sitting there and I believ, went in to cook after we placed the order. I had my doubts when my husband suggested Indian food for brunch but it was awesome! The Egg Bhujia was a flavorful scramble- and was a nice twist from the usual scrambles we get at brunch. It comes with a well baked Paratha. For those unfamiliar with parathas, it's a flatbread that is a thick, dense flatbread made from wheat. They offer stuffed flatbreads as well, and we had a paneer one as well as a gobi (cauliflower) one. There wasn't much stuffing, but they were both very good, though the paneer one was surprisingly spicy. I loved that they have a huge Chai and Coffee menu. I got a "medium" Masala Chai that came in a teapot. It was a much bigger quantity than I expected for the price, though also less spiced then I expected. My husbands Delhi Espresso was amazing. I think they use condensed milk since it reminded me of a Vietnamese coffee, though not as sweet. The seating is a bit limited right at lunch time, particularly since people kind of chill with their Chais for a while, but they do have patio seating in the front. Food and drinks were both very very slow. Not everyone speaks English well so it was hard to check on the status. They also have baked goods and cookies on sale. read more

We have been to this place over a dozen times at different times of the day and they have delicious fresh food ALL the time! This place always reminds me of Irani cafes in India. The place has a relaxed setting with just a few tables. We have never waited a long time to get a spot. The last time we went there we ordered their weekend special Halwa Puri Chole, Sliced Bread Omelette, some cookies from the display they have and Masala Chai. The food took a while to come but was freshly prepared and that is what mattered. The portions are perfect and the price is justified. They have an assortment of cookies and breads at the counter and we tried the pistachio and almond cookies. Both were amazing with the Masala Chai we got in a kettle! While everything tasted great, the star of the meal was definitely the Sliced Bread Omelette. Thick slice of bread with Indian style Masala Omelette stuffed in it with cheese and toasted to perfection. I will definitely go back to have this again. The name sounded so cute and inviting, but it was a disappointment. The Mumbai sandwich wasn't any where close to how a sandwich is in Mumbai. Delhi coffee wasn't like Delhi coffee. The paneer pakoras and samosa had good flavor but it was too oily and you could see that on the items itself. The chutney's were average. We stopped here for brunch. Parking is ample and I guess is shared with taco bell. They haven't started Inside dining. Outside they have 3 small tables & chairs. The table & chairs were not cleaned. If you are dining outside they provide everything in disposable irrespective. The restrooms were dirty. We ordered their:- Egg bhurji with parantha- It was ok ok. Have had better at other places. Samosa chaat- Did not enjoy these, the samosa filling was not good. Chole bhature- This was the star dish, just yum. Masala chai- Good authentic Indian chai. Overall, Price & food quantity is good.
