Tried the pani puri from this food truck and was thoroughly disappointed. The area around the truck was smelly and didn't feel clean, which already set the wrong tone. As someone from Delhi who knows what great pani puri tastes like, I can confidently say this didn't come close. The pani was an odd mix of green and red--neither flavor stood out, and the balance was off. Have tried several pani puri spots in the area which are pretty good. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Food is good. We like it. They make it quick. Easy to grab and go after hospital visit

    Chole Bhatura
    Roshan R.

Heard a lot about this place and I really wanted to like it. However had a horrible experience. First visit: Ordered Chole Bhatura and Dahi Bhalla chaat. The chaat was decent but chole Bhatura made me vomit within the next 30 minutes. I literally had to speed home. The quantity was huge. Two very big Bhaturas and I was very excited. Had one and boxed the other. Had it the next day like an idiot and was immediately affected with diarrhea. Second visit: Ordered mulli paratha as a friend suggested that parathas are their specialty. It was insanely salty and inedible. Again, good quantity. Two huge parathas but inedible. Their complimentary chai is pretty good! The food truck staff is friendly. And service was pretty quick. Not more than 20 minutes wait time. We have to order at the food truck and pay at the adjacent liquor store which is a little weird. The seating is kinda nice in a cozy tent outside.

I think this place makes pretty good North Indian dishes - like chole bhature. The street snacks like dahi poori, papdi chaat, etc are good as well, but they lack a twist in taste, maybe if it could be a bit spicy, had some chaat masala then it'd taste even better. My pav bhaji tasted well, but next time I'd recommend adding some more chili to it, to up it another level. Similar with Dal Makhani and chole. The service is pretty slow but the staff is very nice. We had ordered one dish with no onion and no garlic and we found some onions in the dish so the staff was nice enough to even replace the bhature with chole instead of just chole. Next time I come I'd want to try their parathas with dal makhani.

    Sev Puri Kachori Chaat

We ordered sev puri and Kachori chat. The flavour of sev poori was good. But, the contents are a little cold, just like they were brought right out of the refrigerator. The kachori chat was hot and tasted amazing. The menu is elaborate and we got complimentary chai which was really good and complimented the cold weather outdoors. This is a good truck with loads of space for parking and seating as they are the owners of a nearby store as well. The cutlery used is non-compostable. Compostable cutlery would've made the place a lot bet

Seriously, I'm picking it up so why charge this tip (not even optional)

I haven't had the food yet, but this way of ordering food itself set my expectation low. I went inside the gas station for payment ( as indicated by lady on food truck) and asked the price of Gobi paratha, he said 8.50, ok I asked again, he said the same. I told him then can you check the total and now he says it's 9.50 I know the 1 dollar isn't that important but it's about the trust, and asking any price. First of all 5 dollar paratha itself is expensive from a food truck, on the top of that, this behavior. I tried ordering online as well, but please check the screenshot here ( I understand this is not in control of restaurant, but the price is atleast what you could match) Updating the food here: food is pathetic, I suffered through stomach pain that whole night. Definitely will never try again!

A true hidden gem in one of the corners on Homestead Rd right opposite to the Kaiser hospital. You could easily drive by only if you didn't have the intentions to eat some good Delhi style Chaat cuisine. Convenient parking to park your ride, walkover to the truck and place your order, grab the receipt and walkover to the store next door to do the payment. That's all that is needed and they get into action in preparing the street style Chaat cuisine. We happened to order the Chole paapdi chaat, bhel poori, pav bhaji and aloo paratha ( they serve 2 big parathas in one order) for the two of us. Nothing was left to waste and even the last bit of morsel was scraped off the plates. Definitely recommend their food and yeah if I forgot to mention the good old chai ( tea with milk) is complimentary and you could go gulping down as many as you would like, to your heart's content. Simply love the place and only complaint that I would ever have is if the order is large it takes a good amount of time for them to prepare it but I guess it's well worth the wait.. Definitely recommend paying them a visit for a good hearty meal!!!

    Aloo Chaat
    Divya K.

Actual Indian street food in Sunnyvale! This food truck has a variety of Indian snacks at more than reasonable prices. I tried the aloo chaat and it was pretty good, I do think the the potatoes could have been more crispier though. All other items were pretty good. You place your order at the food truck and pay inside the liquor store next door. There's some outdoor seating in the back. We were also offered complimentary chai as we waited. Great stop to get Indian vegetarian snacks for the evening.

    Bangalore masala puri
    Abhishek S.

We were craving for some indian chats and we found this food truck on yelp and on reviewing the menu to my surprise I found Bangalore masala puri and Kachori chat. Decided to give it a try. Both are my favorite especially the bangalore style masala puri since it is not so common. The masala was made from green peas rather than chickpea which is common everywhere here. The taste was very good with a little twist in flavor and I must say it's definitely one of the best masala puri I have tried here in the US. Kachori chat was made with potato masala and it flavorful and tasty. The Kachori was crispy and the filling was in abundance. Also, they offered complimentary masala tea for all customers. I personally like tea to be a bit more thick and milky but I must say it was hot, fresh and flavorful. The food truck was clean and they have a few benches and tables outside. We definitely enjoyed the food and we will come back for more!

They continue to be a top notch place for chaat style of Indian food (street side snacks). This is a food truck inside a liquor store parking lot opposite the Kaiser hospital entrance. You order upfront or at the food truck and then, go into the liquor store to make the payment for your purchase. They have a few small picnic like tables if you wish to eat out there. We usually order takeaway food from them. Favorites are the - bread pakora (bread deep fried with a potato stuffing) - Aloo tiki channa (potato cutlet in a chickpea masala gravy topped with crunchy sev ) - Their paneer pakora - Finally, the awesome masala chai Every food tastes great, a little on the spicier side. I would consider this normal Indian food , most others, especially kids may find it spicier. Would highly recommend trying out chaat from them

    Mirchi/Chili pakoda
    Anagha J.

Upgrading my review of this place to 5 stars The food today was soooooooooo gooooooood!!!! Omg! Perfectly spiced, pipping hot -perfect for the weather. Dishes to try- 1. Chilly pakoda- super spicy just the way it should be! 2. Dahi puri - was good with balanced sweet and spicy chutneys 3. Aloo paratha - this was stellar! 2 big well stuffed parathas with chole, raita, achaar and onions 4. Bangalore masala puri - puri with ragda ( ragda was good but I prefer other chaat dishes over this so I would suggest you get this only if you really like the dish itself) The complimentary chai was sweetened with fennel. The staff was also very warm and welcoming. The lady at the truck waved at us when the food was ready so that we could wait in our car instead of standing by the truck in the cold.

Is this the same food truck that was on the corner of Homestead and Lawrence?

Where are you located on Saturday's?

I hope they are open on weekends -morning?

    I don't think so

Do they have any vegan options?

Yes we do, our stuffed parathas. Samosa, Ali Tikki , mirchi bhajji , Bangalore Masala Poori , chole papdi chaat are few names in vegan option.

It's clean inside and plenty of natural lighting. Since we were one of two parties inside, the service was quick. I ordered the chicken tikka wrap, as I was feeling something handheld. The chicken tikka was perfectly seasoned, with a good kick of spiciness. I will say, the oil did seep through the naan wrap, so it was definitely a bit messy to eat. But the flavor was so good that it was worth it. AND, the wrap was only $14. In this economy? The prices were really reasonable. Everything was just wonderful, and the food alone gets a solid five stars from me. Complex flavors, just the right amount of heat. Papadum, tandoori salmon, lamb saag, and gajar halwa were outstanding. The staff, unfortunately, looked inexperienced and standoffish. We came in at an off-peak time. The place was nearly empty, so it was not like they had their hands full. As we were going through the meal, not a single dirty plate was taken away from our table. When we finished dessert, all the used dishes from the appetizer and main course were still on the table. That was so odd. It was rather hard to get the attention of the servers. At one point, a server who had brought our dishes before was standing in the back of the room and looking straight at me. I tried to summon him first by making eye contact, then by a meek hand wave, but he redirected his look a little away from me and just continued standing there. We were brought the wrong dessert and realized that only after we started eating, but decided it would be too much hassle to get it replaced. We live very close by and will likely come back for takeout, but not for dine-in.

For a Saturday morning, the energy was calm -- a good sign for a small spot that could easily get overwhelmed. The waitress set the tone early. Warm, unhurried, she asked how we had heard about the place before taking the order -- the kind of question a restaurant only asks when it is still building its crowd and actually wants to know the answer. Filter coffee arrived without delay, hot, no shortcuts. The upma and mini tiffin combo followed. Portions were generous and the food arrived warm. But dish after dish played it safe right up to the edge of forgettable. The upma had correct texture with none of the assertiveness that makes a good upma worth finishing slowly. The sambar leaned thin. The chutneys were there, present and accounted for, doing the minimum. Everything assembled correctly, nothing bold enough to make you look up from the table. Meenakshi Bhavan gets enough right on a weekend morning to be worth knowing about -- clean space, genuinely warm service, honest portions. The waitress clearly takes pride in the hospitality side of things. The kitchen needs to match that energy with a firmer hand on the seasoning. Good enough for a familiar weekend breakfast. Not yet good enough to become a habit. The paintings on the walls that were Indian and Tamilnadu related was great, but the other art work seemed out of place, not sure what the thought process there was with the management. Things where this could improve: Coffee taste can improve (may be sourcing from a different coffee vendor may help, seemed like a standard Narassu's powder from a grocery shop near by that probably was at least a few months old) Chutneys need a certain kick and that was definitely missing. Cleanliness can be improved for sure.

If it's for 2, how come only a single gulab Jamon. Also it states 2 curry's and 1 masala, but it was missing 1 of the proteins. This was the description: "Chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, naan, rice, raita, dessert, and salad typically compose this non-vegetarian thali for two" $27.50. Special instructions field was not operable as we woukd have asjed for mild and we were ok with the spice. it was between mild and medium. I didn't have a stomach ache bc I did not have any of the items in this Thali set. With my dining partner getting a bad stomachache, missing one of the proteins in the order and the minimal dessert of one when it's described as a set for two people. My partner shouted a strong zero. 0/5 Since I thought the combo above would be enough, I ordered garlic naan, it also came into half circles. Naan was thick and very dry. It reminded me of Greek pita bread but with scorches from a clay oven or skillet. Im used to get getting a green and reddish dip sauce but not from this restaurant. A la carte garlic naan iis $ 4.50 person naan. 2/5 In addition I ordered mushroom matter/mutter @ $14.50. This was very different than others I've had. At other pl all, whole mushrooms. But in this container, it barely had any and the mushrooms were sliced thinly and swimming in masala sauce. It was more saucy than it's contents. I felt like perhaps it was the end of the night and they were running low on mushrooms and peas. It was more a 1/5 . Needless to say, I would not recommend this establishment based on this experience.

Colors aside, the chicken itself was delicious. But I will make sure to ask them beforehand next time and order something that doesn't have colors. *naan-5/5- this was amazing. Hot from the tandoor. Ankush, who runs the show at Delhicacies came to do the honors and as well left detailed instruction on how to go about preparing one of the starter dishes that we had ordered (Bhalle Papdi chaat that is). The menu we chose included Bhalle Paapdi Chaat, Cocktail Samosas, Paneer Tikka Masala, Chana Masala, Baingan Bharta, accompanied by Roomali Roti and Lacchay Pyaaz as a side salad. The Bhalle Paapdi Chaat was an instant crowd-pleaser, with the perfect balance of crispy papdi, fresh bhalle, cool sweet yogurt, tangy tamarind along with green sauces, a secret masala powder and a garnish of beetroot , pomegranate and cilantro. All of these were packed separately and instructions were provided (step by step) to prepare the end result which tasted out of the world good. It was refreshing yet packed with flavors that kept everyone asking for seconds. The Cocktail Samosas were golden, crisp, and filled with a spiced potato mixture that made them an ideal finger food--perfectly bite-sized and not greasy at all. For the main course, the Paneer Tikka Masala (PTM) stole the show with its rich, velvety sauce that coated the tender paneer in just the right amount of spice. The flavors were balanced yet bold, making it a standout dish. The earthy flavor in the paneer made it finger licking good and definitely was the biggest hit of the evening. The Chana Masala had the perfect texture--soft chickpeas simmered in a well-spiced gravy that had just the right amount of heat and tang. Cubes of paneer in there definitely made it a good overall combination and complemented with the PTM. The smoky and flavorful Baingan Bharta added an earthy depth to the meal as well. The eggplant was roasted beautifully, bringing out its natural flavors, which paired wonderfully with the Romali Roti. The roti was soft, thin, and warm, making it the ideal vehicle to soak up the gravies. We did end up heating the rotis in our microwave oven for about 10-15 seconds in batches and they remained perfect in their texture and taste. The Lacchay Pyaaz--freshly sliced onions with a sprinkle of masala--added a crunchy, refreshing bite to balance the richness of the other dishes. Overall, Delhicacies delivered an out of the world authentic North Indian culinary experience with each dish tasting as though it was prepared with care and precision. The food was flavorful, perfectly spiced, and served fresh. Our guests were impressed, and we couldn't have been happier with the quality of food and service of delivery. If you're looking for reliable and delicious Indian catering, Delhicacies should be at the top of your list! Give them a chance and thank me later. You are welcome!!!
