Not happy this time.. biriyani that i ordered for Togo was lacking any spice, proper preparation..was mainly rice and chicken pieces.. also their vegetarian curry dishes i feel like they have the same base curry regardless of what you order.. we have tried malai kofta, veg Tikka masala and navratan korma. Incredible venue, Incredible food and fantastic service. We scheduled a wedding reception with the owner and staff and they delivered! We had many different appetizers (samosas-magnificent) (biryani chicken-well seasoned and moist)(naan- heaven!). The restaurant allowed each guest to order any entree and everything was fine! Happy that Dekkan Spice opened during the pandemic. We have impatiently watched it in progress while eating the great cuisine of 5th Element, which is a bit far for us to drive with take-away. Tonight's to go dishes were Daal Makhani, Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Cheetinadu, Saag Paneer, Naan and loads of rice. We ordered all as medium spicy, and my mouth still has a pleasant tingle....... The star of the meal was undoubtedly the Lamb Cheetinadu, which was to die for..., but all else was superb! Deccan Spice exceeded our expectations today. We have heard amazing things and they are absolutely correct. Run, don't walk, to this amazing Indian restaurant. Service, ambience, and volume and quality of food was outstanding. On the weekends they have all you can eat buffet for $21; add $11 and it's all you can drink mimosas too. They offer several vegetarian choices; we had the sautéed cauliflower in chilies, spicy shrimp and the goat biryani. Thankfully they live right up the street from us, so we will make this our regular lunch spot! read more

Great new Indian Restaurant. Consistently excellent food and service. Lunch buffet on Saturday and Sunday is always changing selections so you can try many things. I have eaten here 5 or 6 times already and my favorites so far are chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, and lamb irani rogan josh. Garlic naan of course with the meal. I like very spicy so bring it on. Restaurant is very clean and service is great. Full bar if you want an adult beverage. read more

Before I do a review, let me say that I take my Indian food seriously! I have had it all over the world -- from India to London (the best) to San Francisco. If you love Bombay Darbar stop reading. It is the worst "Indian" food I've ever had. It's the Swanson TV dinner of Indian. But I digress. In terms of ambiance, Deccan Spice is pretty good. New, fresh, modern in appearance. Really the only complaint is that the lighting is WAY too bright for fine dining. I felt like wearing sunglasses. And half the lights weren't even on! Hopefully, they installed dimmers. In terms of service, it is quite poor if not just downright bad. Unfortunately, in a moment of weakness, I left an 18% tip which is encouraging bad behavior. Oh, well. Waiter is nowhere to be found, monotone, never came back after the order. Just bad. This is the primary reason for less than 5-star. (I noticed the comment from other reviewers.) In terms of the food, it was really was quite good. Lots of flavor using authentic spices and it wasn't too mild as I ordered "medium" (I appreciate restaurants taking me seriously when I do want it spicy!). We had one of the biryani dishes, which is their specialty, a bhindi (okra) dish, naan. They also have a full bar, which is not common in my experience with Indian. Very good food. Dined at Deccan Spice for the first time tonight. The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated. We were greeted warmly at the door and had a knowledgeable and friendly waitress named Nadege. I love the food it taste amazing but they need to speed up on the appetizer they take too long g even to serve bread and once they bring the food to the table they make people feel rush to get out they see us eating and keep asking are you done? A few times they came to our table and when they asked us we said no we still working on it they look at us like what are you waiting for? It was very uncomfortable and it's not like they have people waiting for a table they had plenty of tables and yet they where making us rush I didn't enjoy my meal as much this is the third time they do that. Arrived at Deccan Spice right as the dinner service began and we were the first folks there which always has a scary vibe first time visiting a restaurant, but their space is amazing. It's clean, well lit and comfortable terrific interior decorating. The lunch buffet area looks intense and we can't wait to go back in the afternoon and try it. This time around we ordered off the menu and starving we tried lots of everything. Pre-meal we were given a couple free sample vodka coffee concoctions, excellent, and a thin crispy bread with sauces. The apps chosen were samosas and pakora and both were good. We used the leftover complimentary tamarind/mint sauces and really enjoyed them. We shared three vegetarian entrees, veggie korma, saag paneer and paneer with a red sauce. The exact names of these escape me, but we loved them all with their three completely different flavors and their spice level, medium, not burning our mouths off. Naan too! Very thing was great.
