My husband and I went to Deccan Spice for their lunch buffet. Everything we got was great, and the service was phenomenal. I'm taking off a star because of the variety of the dishes available. They had one fish dish, several vegan options, and an awful lot of chicken options. They also had 3 types of rice available. There weren't that many options, so to have that much chicken and that much rice was sort of disappointing. Only 2 sweets also. During the pandemic we had gotten take out from them several times, and everything was great. I think for a buffet we'll probably go elsewhere, but the regular menu is wonderful. read more

What a fine place with fantastic food! This was a gem that we visited while on vacation in Florida. The ambiance is excellent with a spacious dining area and tasteful decor. The service is great with friendly and accommodating servers who are also knowledgeable. We ordered the gobi manchurian, the biryani and a few other dishes. I have tasted the same dishes in other restaurants, but the taste in Deccan Spice stood out. One can tell that the dishes are not mass-produced, but are carefully crafted by a skilled chef. Though the interior is very nice, for us it's always about the food!!! And this was a disappointment. We started out with the samosas,a staple in most Indian eateries. They were good, but small. We followed with two vegetarian dishes.Again,the portions were skimpy.What is worse is that they served us FROZEN vegetables !!!! You can always tell by the lack of flavor, and the uniform size and cube-like shape. India basically created vegetarian cuisine.Hundreds of millions of her citizens are strict veg., and most others sometimes consume a little fish or chicken surrounded with legumes, grains and veggies.Even here in the US the number of vegans and vegetarians has greatly expanded ,as well as many Americans flexitarians who have added some plant based foods to their diet. The rice was completely bland.... if they choose to not use Basmati rice ( North India's gift to the world) then at least do like some places and add some cardamom pods and cumin seeds. The food took a LONG time to arrive.Clearly not based on final preparation.The only stand out was an eggplant dish . I saw this place starting to open March of 2020. I came back by mid February and they were open. I am happy they weathered the COVID storm. The restaurant is so pretty and inviting. Staff is very friendly and food was delish. Had fried rice, tikka masalla, butter chicken and garlic naan for dinner. Started with the Manchurian cauliflower which wasn't as crispy as we hoped but very flavorful. Samosa was very good. We recently came here for Sunday brunch after being recommended by our friends who we met up with that day. They highly praised the buffet and the menu so of course we had to try! I have been to numerous Indian restaurants but I had yet to try an Indian buffet (which I have always wanted to, just didn't know where to go). Looking through the reviews and there were a couple of comments about the plates not having enough rice or not equal amount, I'm here to tell you, it was the perfect amount. The cauliflower appetizer was DELICIOUS. So many vegetarian options which is great. The carnivores also have an amazing selection. The waitors and waitresses are very nice. Your spice level needs to be addressed at the beginning of the meal. They have mild, medium, and hot for food seasonings. Indian food is known for spices and they do not disappoint. The seasonings do not over power the flavors which is hard to do. The price range is very reasonable. The only thing I would say is to not get a double; they charge you for a whole other cup when it's double. So two drinks costs $50. The drinks are $10-$12. So get 4 drinks for the same price instead of two that are not too strong. Otherwise, everything was phenomenal, and definitely coming back with more people. read more

Not enough space hear to properly list how impressed we were, and how insanely delicious all was. We normally order a chana masala Palak paneer and tikka masala, in Miami. The lovely owner and her son said I need to try more, and I did! Cauliflower was amazing, mutton, goat biryani was incredible. Chicken tikka was the best I've ever had. Such a wonderful place for some amazing Indian food in Fort Lauderdale!! Guys do check this out. I wasn't sure about the restaurant as it looked new and we were traveling but decided to give it a try. I was blown away to see such beautiful interiors which are modern with an Indian touch. Paintings, private room for dining in with family and friends, open bar, decor and the ambiance was just perfect and so thoughtfully done. Coming to the food, Nirupama who is the owner of the restaurant recommended cauliflower appetizer and honestly that was the best one we have had in a very long time. Perfect amount of spice and tasted way better than in restaurants we have had in New Jersey. I had Deccan special biryani and veg biryani both were great. Great service, delicious food and felt so homely talking to the owner who came by and made sure we were enjoying our meal. Price is competitive but definitely worth the food and place itself. For starters, the bar had a variety of high end spirits to please all palates. They even had a Double Cask Single Malt Whiskey from India that added to the atmosphere creating an ambience of a big city, hidden in a strip mall.
