Really wanted some Indian food and heard about a lot of great places but this was closest to home. I was craving butter chicken and they delivered!!! It was late around 9pm but there were still people dining in and walking in so I knew I was at the right spot. I ordered the butter chicken that comes with basmati rice and I also ordered a side of garlic naan. Food took about 20 minutes but came out hot and fresh. It was a good portion size and for me lacked a little salt but other than that it was great. I will return because during the weekday they have a buffet which would allow me to try more options for a set price and determine what I really like. Overall good experience!!! read more

Food is below average, I'll be specific: The pani puri was ice cold obviously just came out of the fridge after many days. The pani (water sauce) was basically salt water, other than salt there was no other taste. The main dish was probably heated in microwave, I couldn't tell for sure, but definitely not fresh. The workers are very nice and kind, but dressed like they sleep in their cars and took shower last year! Atmosphere is shabby, there is a damp smell. The spices are not something this ol' country boy grew up with, but I am sad that I missed them all these years! WOW! My husband heard great things about this restaurant from a friend. He drove about a half hour to pick up take out. Their menu is a fusion of Indian and Chinese dishes so we were excited to try them out. Their chicken corn soup was not what I was used to. The eggs were chunky instead of in velvety ribbons. The soup was a bit spicy and had carrots and pre-cooked chicken. The chicken fried rice also had spices we were not expecting. They also used cut up, breaded, fried chicken in it. It felt like rice mixed with the various cooked ingredients instead of a dish comprising of building flavors and frying the ingredients together. It did not feel like a cohesive dish. We had lamb samosas, yellow dal, butter chicken and goat masala. The dal was very watery and lacked the aromatic flavors I am accustomed to. I felt like i was eating runny yellow mashed potatoes. The butter chicken was creamy and sweet. The goat masala has more spice, and came with a rich sauce. I was ok with the level of spice with the mild options, but my husband thought it was too much for him. We ordered plain paratha, butter naan, and garlic naan. The breads were a great vehicle to enjoy the gravies and the tamarind sauce. Keep in mind that one order is just that - one flatbread cut in half. We will stick to our local spots. read more

Everything was really good and authentic. They have a full bar and swap out some of the buffet options weekly. The service was friendly and the staff were helpful. One of the best Indian buffets I had in the state of Florida. They offer multiple items in the buffet. I have never seen any place offer kulchha parotha, puri, warm gulab jamun, chicken 65, mango ice cream, and many more things. This place got it all. They have plenty of seatings. Saw this place on Yelp getting good reviews, so I thought I would try it with my friend for dinner on Sunday. The menu was extensive and seems like they cook to order. I ordered the Malai Kofta, a vegetarian dumpling dish with an almond and cream sauce. I asked for mild spiciness. They gave me a generous portion with a bowl of rice. It was delicious, but had more of a medium amount of spiciness than mild. My friend ordered a goat dish, and although it tasted good, it was bone-in chunks of meat with excessive bones. She had to ask for another dish, which the restaurant graciously obliged and she got the lamb which was boneless. She enjoyed that. She ordered a garlic naan, and we shared it, it was very tasty and not overly garlicky. The service at the place was responsive and the atmosphere was casual but nice and roomy. I definitely would want to come her again and maybe try the lunch buffet to try the some dishes that I am not familiar with, but would like to get familiar with. read more

I have been craving Indian for a while, and I love buffets because you can sample foods that you may be hesitant to try as a whole entree. This place had the best variety I've ever encountered in an Indian buffet - pakora, dhal, biryani, tikka masala, paneer and more. A great selection of chutneys as well! The seating is comfy and vast. Bathrooms were pretty clean and well maintained. They have chai tea included with the buffet and also mango soft serve, which was a delicious end to our meal. Staff were great about clearing away used plates quickly. For approximately $21 per person this is a great place to sample different Indian fare. Be mindful, some of the dishes are spicy (and delicious) - my party enjoyed the chili chicken. I was also a fan of the chicken tikka masala! They play Bollywood music and play the station on television, which I found quite entertaining. read more

Like other Indian restaurants in Broward County, their food is pretty standard, dosa, panner makani etc. They do offer a really good buffet on weekends. Worth the drive if you live far. It's only 20 minutes from my house so I try not to make it a habit lol. The service is good. Very polite and attentive servers. The ambiance is beautiful and it's nice and clean. There were limited dessert options compared to previous experiences at Indian buffets. Nonetheless- YUMMY food. Everything we had was tasty. Nothing was super spicy. The 3 stars come in due to the service. I found the service to be lackluster. No explanation or greetings about the restaurant or process. It would also be great to consider expanding the drink menu. Ever since I started keeping a list of restaurants in Broward that I wanted to try, 5th Element has been at the top. I don't get to Broward often, so what a treat that it was my friend's birthday, she wanted Indian food, and we were going to a show in the area! The stars aligned to make this a special night for all of us! What I really like about 5th Element is that it was items that I haven't seen at other Indian restaurants. Even though we stuck to dishes that we know that we absolutely love, I am excited to return (for the buffet maybe?) to go deeper into the menu. The masala dosa came out first - humungous as it always is, with three distinct but delicious sauces. The dosa was crispy around the edges and soft and filled with potatoes in the middle. The malai kofta, one of my all-time favorite Indian dishes, married a creamy sauce (not too heavy though) and the kofta, dense balls, with spices that sung together and yet if you closed your eyes, you could taste each one on their own. I love when that happens in a dish. We also opted for saag paneer, garlic naan, and vegetable biriani. Each were excellent versions of dishes my friends and I enjoy a lot. For three people, this was a huge amount of food, but it was a special night, and we wouldn't have it any other way. read more

I was pining for indian food and was very hungry. So thought I will try the buffet. The spread is pretty extensive and included all my favorite dishes. Street food including pani puri, samosa chat with chole. 3 different chicken dishes and also chicked pulao. Goat gravy, veg pulao, curd rice, prawn curry, rice, beans, sambhar, dosa, etc. Sweets including rice kheer, similar. Starters which included pakodas and salads. I have not listed every dish, but what I will add is that every dish takes a lot of work. Kudos for effort, but probably it is too much effort. Only a very large establishment can pull it off. Hence it was a hit and miss. I probably tried 9 different dishes. Like i said, i was hungry. Prawn curry was the pick with perfect spice paired with the small prawns as they work well for this dish. The sweet rice kheer was another well prepared dish. Samosa with chole was nice. Quite a few other dishes either were too salty or not marinated properly ( chicken tikka). Wooow! This place looks a little shady from the outside but trust me when I say it's POPULAR and for good reason. I went for the lunch buffet and everything was so good! I was only bummed they didn't have butter chicken BUT the cheese dish they had made up for it. They also have a self serve mango ice cream machine... I had THREE servings! Service was fast, food was always restocked, and old plates always moved out of your way quickly. This spot is within walking distance of me and I'll definitely be there more often. read more

This used to be my go to spot when I craved Indian. However, over the last year the food changed. It was good, but different every time. I assumed there were chef changes. Nevertheless, I continued coming. So much so the staff knew my order. Sadly, I recently got a link from a friend showing this restaurant on a list of restaurants shut down due to roaches and rat feces. There were over 20 violations! My stomach instantly turned. I went to this place before the food was good but I will never again come here. I had a bad experience I went with my girlfriend for her birthday and no one acknowledge us. We went at 8:45pm and the bartender or the wait staff ask us if someone is helping us and we said no. He had to take our order. Our food came out fast once we placed our order it wasn't warm. We were waiting after to get a to go box and we waited close to the time they are closing. We would not recommend this place. This 5th Element Indian Lunch Buffet is authentic nutritious, delicious, full of variety. The team members and visitors were generally kind and lively looking. The decorative ambiance could have been better, the goodness of the food and people make up for that. Lots of vegetarian, vegan options. The pricing I think is fair $23 +tip of $10 so $33 total. I am grateful I've found a healthy, delicious restaurant to regularly enjoy. I've recently moved to the area and I applied to be part of the team of 5th Element, in my 5 years of experience I think this is one of the best restaurants to eat at and be part of a team of. I miss Indian food buffets and finally found one in Pompano Beach on Powerline road. It's the 5th Element. There was a nice selection of dishes. My favorites that I tried was the goat curry, and especially the fried okra. The okra had an unbelievable taste. I also liked the salad with the different curry sauces to choose from. The only disappointment was that the used dishes were not cleared from the table. Other than that, this Indian buffet is worth visiting. Especially with a $17.95 buffet price. read more

I used to live in Pompano Beach and I I am just visiting now. This restaurant was okay when I used to go few years ago. The staff is nice. I got some take out yesterday, sambar and aloo gobi. I told them to make the aloo gobi spicy, and it was sweet. I don't really understand how does that even happen. The Sambar didn't have any seasonings at all. The mirchi was so crispy and hard to chew . The naan was not fresh. Probably customers did not finish their naan and the restaurant decided to resell it. WOW! I've worked down the block for almost 2 years and always wanted to try this restaurant. This morning I smelled the aroma from my jobs parking lot. I am ashamed I never came sooner! The buffet was just amazing! On my first dish I tried a little bit of everything: Pakora, Naan, Tandori Chicken, chicken dura briyani, chicken manchuria, butter chicken, goat masala! The food at 5th Element is delicious! My favorite dish is the Saag Paneer. My husband loves the cheese naan and always insists on getting several orders to make sure he has leftovers. My kids love the butter chicken. I personally think that the butter chicken is better than tikka masala but we also like that. The food is made quickly and I love how it's packaged for takeout. My only complaint would be that the spice level seems to really differ depending on the day. Sometimes the daal has been really spicy (I prefer spicy) but other times it isn't spicy at all. My mother in law is very sensitive to spice and we told her that the saag paneer wasn't spicy at all but of course it was that day. Spicy or not though the food tastes great! read more
