The manicures and pedicures are fine, but trying to make an appointment is useless. 3-4 times I called to make an appointment and they tell me the time works, only to go in and sit for an hour or to they ask that I come back in a certain amount of time bc they are too busy. I guess they don't see their clients time as very valuable. The owner is very rude and is more concerned about pushing upgrades and piling in the clients. read more

I've never had a problem with this nail salon. I've been coming here off and on for years. I've had many of the nail services that they provide here. So far my favorite is the gel manicure. Oh. Em. Gee. THE BEST leg massage EVAH! I got one of their higher priced, anti-callus pedicures and I may have passed out in the massage chair... I think they used 3 different creams to rub down your feet and legs, an exfoliating cream, then they pretty much shave the bottom of your foot which is kind of gross and awesome at the same time but, makes your feet come out baby-butt smooth and then they rinse and rub your legs some more before cleaning up your nails and topping you off with toe polish. Once you're walked over to let your nails dry, they massage your neck and back with hot compresses for a good 20 minutes. Best $53 spent in quite a while. read more

The ONLY thing good about this place is that you get a massage while you dry your nails BUT if you want to be humiliated, talked down to and over all have attitude from the girl manager, then this is your place to be. This bitch manage has NO worries about telling you off if you do not leave a tip big enough that is acceptable to her. She will stop you, confront you and ask you WHY you did not leave more. Yep, all in front of other customers. I left a $10 til on (2) $32 regular pedicures with nothing special and she flipped on me asking if me if my service was not good enough. Had an amazing pedicure last week and was very impressed with the precautions they are taking with Covid. Plastic curtains divided the pedicure seats and plastic dividers between the manicurist and customer getting manicures. Everyone was spread out and maintaining a good distance. I would recommend trying to stay away from the older gentlemen who works there (I'm pretty sure he's the husband of the owner). The other reviewer was right who said that he literally falls asleep while massaging you, and the majority of the massage (the part he was awake for) consisted of him using one knuckle in a circle over and over on the bottom of my foot. No effort what so ever. Not to mention the fact that his breath STUNK. I had the misfortune of smelling it every time he yawned, which was often. I'm pretty sure he really only works to help When its busy. I'm keeping my review at 5stars because im pretty sure I've dealt with everyone else who works there and they're all fabulous. Just moved to CT and I've been on the hunt for a new nail salon. After reading many Yelp salon profiles, I decided upon Deco Nails due to its close proximity to my home and its numerous positive reviews. Big mistake. I had called in the morning to make an afternoon appointment and when I did, I made sure to ask if the salon carried acrylic nails and offered acrylic services. The answer that I received was yes, so I went ahead and scheduled a pink & white fill. When I arrived, there were only a few customers in the shop, but I still had to wait more than 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment time before I was called to take a seat in a manicure chair. There was no apology or explanation for the lateness. In fact, as soon as I sat down, the nail tech pulled out her cell phone and made a personal call. She proceeded to work on my nails sporadically, in between making another personal call and answering all calls coming into the salon. In the middle of my service, a woman walked in without an appointment asking for an upper lip wax, and instead of asking her to please wait, my tech stopped doing my nails and walked away to do the waxing. The best part was that after filing my nails, she pulled out manicure gel. Why? Because apparently they don't work with acrylics, which was NOT what I had been told on the phone. At that point, I was 2/3 of the way through the service and felt compelled to continue. I didn't come in for gel because I don't like the gel look, but at that point, there was no other choice. I felt stuck. I had already been there for so long that leaving and going to another salon would have taken the rest of my afternoon. As the tech was finishing my nails, another customer in the shop had just had a pedicure that she was very unhappy with. At no time did a manager step forward to apologize, to try to deal with the situation, or to offer to redo the work. Seeing that non-response, I didn't bother to complain about my own service. I come to this place because it's closest to me, but I may have to start rethinking my nail salon choice. I always call ahead for an appointment and without fail I end up waiting for around 20-45 min WITH an appointment. What's the point of calling ahead if you have to wait anyways? However, that being said, they do a good job on nails for the most part. Also they give a decently long massage when your nails are drying so that's always a plus. This is the best nail salon I have ever been to. I never write reviews, but I like this place so much that I want to get the word out to everyone in CT. I have been going there for 8 years now and have been to about 6-7 other nail salons and no one else can compare. The staff is friendly, and will remember your name, the salon is clean, and the service is amazing. A pedicure costs $30 and they take their time with you. They exfoliate your legs and feet, rub warm lotion over them to make them silky smooth, and then when you are at the nail drying station they massage you! How can that get any better? I was sitting across from a lady who lives in NYC, and she said she can't get service like that there, and I just moved to FL from DC and couldn't find a nail salon with that kind of service for that kind of price. I have been going here for a few years now. Always great service. They are INCREDIBLE at gel manicures!! They won't let you leave unless it's perfect. And the massages during your manicure and while it dries are another awesome bonus! However, my only complaint is the one time I tried to get a wax there. It was only my eyebrows, thankfully, but I left with no skin around my eyebrows for DAYS. The woman had burned my skin completely off and while it was healing it turned into nasty scabs. I have been coming to Deco on and off for around 2 years, and have gotten acrylics, gel manicures, regular manicures and pedicures here. I think they do a fantastic job and are definitely worth the price. My nails last much better than they have from other salons. My one issue with this place is the fact that I call ahead every time I go and still end up sitting for up to an hour and a half waiting to be helped. I would recommend going to this salon not at peak times such as Saturday and Sunday mornings because they will be full and you will have to wait no matter if you call or not. I decided to try Deco nails last night because I was picking up a pizza from Luna's (which is also fantastic) and I had heard great things about Deco Nails. I have to say, I had the BEST foot, hand and upper back massage that I have ever had while getting my nails done, actually it was the best massage I have probably ever had from anyone. I didn't ask her name and I wish I did because I don't think I will go to anyone else from now on. She literally massaged my back the entire time my nails dried. My toes and nails came out beautiful too and they really take their time. I also had an excellent eye brow wax, it did not hurt one bit and they look great. I am not one to write these types of reviews but it is definitely deserved. I won't be going anywhere else from now on. read more

The attention to detail and quality service that I get at Deco (especially from Helen) is what keeps me coming back. My gel manicures routinely last 3-4 weeks without chipping and I've never had that happen elsewhere. I wanted to give this place 5 stars. I was really hoping to. But from the moment I walked in, it's been nothing but disorganization and weirdness. I asked for a regular manicure and just a polish change on my toes. They had me sit in one of the pedicures. 35 minutes later, I'm STILL waiting. When I called before I came down, they told me it wasn't busy at all and there would be no wait. Finally, an older man came over, looked at my toes and said "your feet are dirty and need a pedicure!" So I kinda laughed along with it and said, "okay." I'm currently sitting in said pedicure, and he is dozing off while massaging my feet. Literally falling asleep holding my feet and coming back to consciousness every minute or so. He also stuck a metal tool very deep underneath my toe nail and made it bleed, then blaming it on an ingrown toe nail and not him. Safe to say his tip just keeps running lower and lower, and I more than likely won't be returning. read more

I have been going to deco for about 2 years to get my nails done. Lately though I have been disappointed. I went in for a manicure and pedicure with a friend. We picked our colors and it took 30 minutes for someone to start on my friend and another 10 minutes to start on me. Through out my pedicure the person doing my nails left multiple times. At one point the person doing my nails actually left the building and told me they would be back. Over all they do a decent job, but prepare yourself to wait at least 10 minutes, especially when they are understaffed. read more

Terrible service. The owners are too focused on getting as many people in and out as possible rather than the quality of your nails and service.. I've been here quite a few times out of convenience and it is ALWAYS the same I always tell myself I won't go back but it's very convenient for location. There could be four people waiting and only two nail techs and someone will walk in asking if they have time to do nails now and the answer is "of course! Pick a color" meanwhile I've been sitting waiting for 20 minutes already. There other gig is they'll start your nails.. then stop working on you to start someone else's and go back and forth .. so you can't leave because both your nails are halfway done but it takes two hours to get your nails done. It's rediculous. Also there's only two people in the whole place. ( the owners) that can do gel tips.. you'd think they would train their staff to do it.. and of course both owners aren't always there so that leaves one person. And even if you make an appointment she'll still be working on someone else when you get there.. oh and like a previous post stated.. answering calls every two seconds as well. read more
