I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from or servicing their vehicle at DeCozen Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. I purchased a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee from this dealership in March 2026. Just three months later, my check engine light came on. Shortly afterward, my vehicle displayed an "Engine Temperature Hot" warning, began overheating, and was blowing white smoke from the exhaust. I brought it back to DeCozen, where I was informed that it had a leaking water pump and leaking gasket. While I understand that mechanical issues can happen, what made this experience so frustrating was the dealership's handling of the repair. Communication was extremely poor. I repeatedly had to call and text my Service Advisor, Anthony, just to get basic updates on my vehicle. Many of my calls and messages went unanswered, and when I was told someone would call me back, that often didn't happen. I was given multiple estimated completion dates, only to have them pushed back again and again without any proactive communication. The most disappointing part of this experience was learning that the delays were not entirely due to my warranty company. After being told several times that the dealership was waiting on the warranty company, I contacted the warranty provider myself. They informed me they had been trying to reach the dealership for days and had left multiple messages that were never returned. I ultimately had to help facilitate communication between the dealership and the warranty company so my repairs could finally be approved and move forward. As a customer, I should never have had to do that. To make matters worse, I requested a loaner vehicle because this is my only means of transportation. I was told there were no loaners available for weeks and that transportation was not the dealership's responsibility, leaving me to find my own way to work and other obligations. Throughout this process, I felt like I had to chase the dealership for every update instead of being treated as a valued customer. Based on my experience, there appears to be a serious lack of communication, accountability, and customer service. DeCozen needs to improve its communication and customer care, as no customer should have to spend this much time getting basic information about their own vehicle. This was one of the most frustrating and disappointing car-buying experiences I have ever had. I went to the dealership to look at a 2022 Honda CR-V EX-L with approximately 42,000 miles. Before making the trip, I found the exact same vehicle advertised at three different prices on different websites: $28,500, $26,400, and $24,900. I contacted the dealership beforehand and specifically asked about the pricing. I was told they would work with my numbers, so I made the trip expecting a straightforward and honest discussion. Instead, after I arrived, inspected the vehicle, and asked the salesperson for the out-the-door price, I was given a figure of approximately $30,500. $24,900 advertised. $30,500 OTD. That's approximately a $5,600 difference from the lowest advertised price. I understand that taxes, registration, and legitimate fees are part of buying a vehicle. But when the same vehicle is advertised at three different prices--and the lowest advertised price is $24,900--I expect the dealership to clearly explain the difference and provide an honest, itemized OTD price. What makes this even more frustrating is that I contacted them before coming in and was told they would work with my numbers. I made the trip in good faith and with the intention of buying the vehicle if we could agree on a reasonable price. Instead, I felt like my time had been completely wasted. If the actual numbers were going to be anywhere near $30,500 OTD, that should have been made clear before asking me to come to the dealership. This is exactly why people are skeptical of car dealerships. Advertise one price, get the customer in the door, and then present a dramatically higher number. Whether or not there is an explanation for every fee, the customer should not have to drive to the dealership to find out what the real price is. My advice: DO NOT make the trip based on the advertised price alone. Get the complete, itemized OTD price in writing BEFORE you go. Ask about every fee, add-on, and mandatory charge. I feel like I went to an entirely different dealership than the reviews below suggest. I brought in a 2018 Jeep for some routine 40k services, they had all the prior service records, did the correct suggestions for things needed, and even helped get lower prices than OEM materials for the front rotors. Overall, prices for the same exact service items were 20-40% lower than the other Jeep dealer I had been using. The work seemed well done, and I've had no issues so far. The staff was polite and efficient, and really didn't upsell anything unnecessary or frivolous. I'll update if I find anything wrong, but so far this is my new service destination. read more

I had such a concerning experience at this dealership. Unethical is an understatement. All the way from the CEO, Michael Cerino to sales staff. We should have known though- they have the worst reviews in all NY and NJ. ** From the beginning, John Bowler was dismissive- telling my husband he would need to put down a $1,000 deposit just to test drive the vehicle and do credit run so they could "give me the numbers." When I expressed surprise, I was told-verbatim-that it was going to "TAKE A LOT OF WORK" which is why the deposit was required. What?!? This made no sense, sounded ludicrous- so we declined. We said we would come back the next day, so they finally agreed to run numbers without the deposit. At that point, Mac in finance who is really Michael Cerino Decozen CEO!! told us we had 24 hours to make a decision and claimed this deadline was imposed by the bank. Again, this made no sense so I later called the bank directly and confirmed this was not true. When I informed Mac that I had spoken to the bank and there was no 24-hour deadline, his demeanor changed completely. He - the Decozen CEO- became visibly angry, and in a raised voice said that it was HIS rule, that our time was up, and that they were giving the car to someone else. This experience felt manipulative, dishonest, unprofessional, cynical almost- from multiple staff members. We dodged a bullet. You should too. read more

If you love your car - STAY AWAY. Every time I brought my car there they couldn't diagnose like a mechanic so they just replace parts. They are incapable of making mechanical decisions. Since everything is hooked up to diagnostics simple tasks like diagnosing a water pump or putting a rim on and torquing the lugs to spec. Last time I was there they over tightened the lugs and the new shop couldn't get them off. Fast forward. I spoke with the manager. He's useless as boobs on a bull. No accountability. No responsibility. They just want your money and will try and replace everything in your car. Go anywhere else but here. Can't rotate tires and torque wheels properly? That's sad. read more

Home of the $170 oil change! Brought my 2018 WK2 in to have the aux battery and the start battery replaced, and requested a check of a worn tie rod that my local in-town mechanic found, and which would be covered under my Jeep MaxCare warranty. While I was in I was within a month of needing an oil change so I figured go for it. Nominally a $50-60 service everywhere else I didn't think anything of it. Three hours later they came back with a quote of $850, didn't find anything wrong with the tie rod, which is BS--they obviously didn't want to handle a warranty issue--and they would not allow me to speak to the mechanic who did the inspection. They also told me my front brakes were dangerously worn, which was...not expected. They'd already done the oil change and the aux battery at this point, and I was shocked to discover the oil change included an hour's labour and came out to $171!! When I went back to my local guy to do the start battery he also inspected the brakes and said they were about halfway worn and in good shape for at least another year of normal driving. Funnily enough, there wasn't a single customer in the showroom the whole time I was there. No wonder with their "non-negotiable" dealer markup of $10,000 on everything they had. This dealership will penalize you $1800.00 if you're a cash buyer. They are involved in a practice where they attempt to make up the commission they would make from a financial institution they're in business with. This penalty could actually cost you more than they would make if you took a loan on the vehicle. I inquired on a vehicle listed at $12,900.00. I asked what all the dealer fees were minus tax and DMV. Instead of giving me a breakdown of all fees as they are required to supply by law a woman by the name of Angelina Dambola gave me an out the door price of $16,796.10. These dealerships already charge outrageous documentation fees for preprinted forms that the State of New Jersey unfortunately allows. Penalizing customers for paying cash however is not legal at all. Stay away from this dealership. NJSP notified. These dishonest people are still riding the COVID gravy train. The AG's Office can bring a case against them that will require them to pay substantial fines to erase their illegal profits. My wife's Chrysler was in an accident. Broken axle, and stuff that I'm not familiar with. We had van towed to our reliable mechanic. He was backed up so we figured, let's go to the Chrysler dealership. They are big and they probably have the parts in stock. (I shoulda checked Yelp!!) 5 weeks later (after dozens of phone calls and stories) we got the van out. Never mind that they charge 3% for credit cards and would not take a personal check. They made us go to our bank to get a cashier's check. So here comes the shady part. Towards the end of the whole ordeal, he tells me the van needs a ton of work. Close to 4k. I tell him, don't do anything that's not covered by the insurance claim. We pick up the van. The side panel was sticking out, which we have picture proof it did not come in like that. I mention it. He says, we are not a body shop and it must've been the tow truck. Good luck. And here's the worst! The next morning, my wife drives carpool and tells me there are no brakes. When she gets back, I drive it to our regular mechanic. Scariest ride ever! I could barely stop. Our guy tells us the break lines were loose. Was that an accident or done on purpose?? We will never know. But the results could have been catastrophic. Thank G-d nothing happened. How do you Either way, I will never go back there and would never be able to recommend them to anyone. We had important questions and he was extremely impatient and unwilling to answer questions - no interest in customer service. He was also very unwilling to help us over the phone, even despite the fact that we told him we wanted to keep the conversation in person as short as possible due to COVID. To make matters worse, he asked if this was our first lease and actually laughed at us, telling us he didn't need our business, and then hung up. We were serious about signing the lease so his loss. I was calling about a property that the Cerino Family owns and is the old location of Decozen off Bloomfield Ave in Montclair. This location has sat empty for quite some time. Listed by realty broker, The Blue & Berg Company, myself and another colleague have left numerous messages with no reply. Finally calling Decozen and speaking to a secretary that transferred me to a very rude, arrogant man whom I was unaware who i was speaking to at first. Michael has an ego to say the least. Michael eventually stated the property was for sale at 11M or for lease at 35,000. I asked Michael where the 11M came from where he had replied "From my ass." After a few more jabs, Michael stated they have an outstanding offer from PSEG of 11 million. Quite comical to hear that he has an 11M offer and has not taken it. Michael stated he was not showing the property and if i wanted to see it i could hop the chain and look through the glass. DeCozen could not have been less helpful when we contacted them to schedule service on our Pacifica in response to a recall notice from Chrysler. Chrysler advised in its recall notice that one of the modules in our Pacifica needed reprogramming, and it could be done in 30-minutes at any dealership. Despite that, DeCozen told us it would take six-weeks to schedule and then, after we waited six-weeks and arranged for time off of work, they told us the day before the appointment that we were not on the schedule. We told them that we had scheduled the appointment six weeks ago, and, even then, after consulting with the service manager, we were told they could not accommodate us as scheduled. They told us we could leave the car there for several days to see if they could get to it, which is not an option for us as this is our only car that can accommodate our entire family. By way of explanation, DeCozen indicated that they had been provided a limited number of parts for this recall. They said this despite Chrysler having told us that the recall involved only reprogramming, and did not necessitate any parts. DeCozen also told us that we should take the car to the dealership where we had purchased it. They told us this despite Chrysler having advised that the recall could be fixed at any dealership. We reached out to a different dealership in the area, and they indicated that it was a simple fix and could be done in a short time. They were able to put us on their schedule within 48 hours of the call. We are grateful for the knowledge that DeCozen is not a place where we should be shopping in the future. read more

It was a great experience while going to buy the car, the Sales Representative named Christ is amazing, he was helpful, a man with word and trust. The problem is that After a month, when I received the finance description I noticed there was a charge of 7,000 dollars for an extended guarantee I didn't know about. The finance manager tried to convince me that he told me about it when I know I wouldn't pay for that and I didn't agree on having an extended guarantee, (I should have read everything, but still the warranty can be cancel and the Finance manager said "he couldn't do anything for me"). He said he couldn't do anything about it when he knew I have the option to cancel it. Not only did he berate my family over a miscommunication over the financing of a car, but he has the audacity to tell us a bull s*** story about integrity. He tells us the whole story how he was selling his motorcycle and passes up making an extra $500 to sell it to someone he already made a verbal commitment to, BUT he then go and sell a car we put a deposit on because he was going to get a quicker sale at that moment with someone else. Took my truck to get serviced today. I needed a new battery. What has turned me off so much was I would have to wait for my truck toget done which would have been bout 3 hours or so which I was ok waiting for. The reason why I'm so disappointed in this dealership is they wouldn't let me wait for my truck for the duration of the service because they have a crazy policy that you can't wait in the lounge unless you are getting a oil change. I said so I'm suppose to wait in the cold for 3 hours? Yup.I even told Paul the guy I was dealing with that I bought my truck there and they had no issue having me wait two hours while the truck etc was getting ready. I think it's complete bullshit to have a policy like this. Mind you it's Tuesday and there's 1 other customer in the whole dealership. Want like much was going on. Either way the inflexible customer service has lost my business as a service dealership and possibly me buying a new jeep within the 8 months when my lease is up. ouldUpon entering the dealership, the first line out my mouth was,"take care of me as if I`m someone you care about." To which Chris Logan replied, "Don´t worry, I got you." I didn`t get to test drive the actual Power Wagon I wanted to purchase. I wasn`t shown, explained, or demonstrated any of the truck's features or functions. I wasn`t able to turn the truck fully on, I was told to only turn on the electric and that`s when I discovered the truck had a code error message. However, I kept the faith in Chris and gave him the benefit of the doubt and trusted everything would be to my liking. After completing the paperwork and insuring the truck I had to return later at night with my wife to sign the papers. I was told the truck will be fixed and washed when I return. After about 4 hours and 45 minutes I came back with my wife to sign and pick up the truck, only to find that once I showed my wife the truck, I turned it fully on for the first time throughout the whole transaction and saw that the code error message was still there. Not only that, but the truck was filthy and it only had a quarter tank of gas. We waited to be seen for about 30 to 45 minutes when all we were supposed to do was sign papers and drive off with the truck. My wife and I expressed our concerns and frustrations with Chris, but it was like for every complaint we had, he had an excuse, except for why the car was filthy. He just stated that "they didn´t do their job." Chris didn´t seem to be concerned or bothered and pretty much blew us off. He seemed annoyed. My wife felt that as a new car buyer the truck should have been on point, no issues at all, super clean, and have a full tank. We were told they stopped doing that which is insane. That ultimately pissed her off, along with the truck issues. Once I noticed how unconcerned he was, I told him to cancel everything and return my money. He didn´t care and the proof was right there because once I asked for the return he said "okay" and walked into an office. Joe returns and he seemed more concerned for someone who isn´t your salesman. He stated that "he understood I was upset, frustrated, and pissed off, and that he would feel the same way. No one should get a truck like this." He saved Chris' deal. He assured us that first thing in the morning everything will be corrected and ready to pick up. That it would be first priority. We were told that they would call us in the morning once it was ready, however, we received no call. By noon, I had to get a ride and just show up, no call, no nothing. Just to find my truck sitting in the lot ready for god knows how long. The funny thing is as I was leaving with my truck Chris pleaded to me to give him a good review when I get the link in the email because that helps. which sounded familiar, like when I sat down and pleaded that he would take care of me as if I am someone he cares about. Overall, the experience was horrible and very unprofessional. I don´t recommend this company at all. You´re better off elsewhere. Part 2: After I wrote the above review I received a phone call from Chris Logan saying " you need to realize that this is my livelihood and that if you felt uncomfortable with the deal you could've left at any time. for you to leave a review like that hurts me". what Chris forgot to mention was that I did want to leave and that I did ask for my money back but it was joe who came in and listened to me and treated me the way Chris Logan should have. Part3: After noticing that my truck came with a factory-installed winch because it wasn't pointed out at the initial point of sale, I went back to the dealership and I asked Chri Logan if that winch came with a remote (controller)? Chris Logan looked at the truck with a disbelieving look on his face like he didn't even know that it came with the winch, then told me " I don't know, I don't think so and are you even going to use it?" someone else intervened and told me that he would go double-check for me (not Chris). After like 10 minutes Chris and the guy came back and the 1st thing the guy said was $286 for the remote, which left confused because it didn't answer my question (does the winch come with the remote?) instead they wanted to sell me more stuff. Before leaving the dealership I said " so what you're telling me is that this truck doesn't come with a remote foe the winch that is factory installed? they both said yes. the next day I had a feeling to check the storage compartment under the rear seats and to my surprise, I found the remote that they were ready to charge me for. read more

They made sure to fit me with the exact vehicle I was looking for, down to color, options, and engine. I dealt with Basir, Joe, and Mike C. and all of them were extremely proficient and kind to work with. They have always beat other dealership's pricing. Super sketchy. We were looking at a Jeep, sales person seemed like he wanted to move us away from that particular vehicle. Suggested we look at cars outside, even though there weren't any Jeeps similar to what we were looking for. We went back inside, said we wanted to buy the Jeep we had been looking at before and SUDDENLY there was a handwritten note on the Jeep saying this particular vehicle was subject to surge pricing: the cost was $5,000 OVER the MSRP price on the factory sticker. Sales person said there was surge pricing on 'the popular jeeps'. I said I didn't see that notice on any other vehicle on the floor. Sketchy sales guy said the vehicles had just arrived and the surge notices hadn't been added yet. Maybe he's holding the Jeep for a different customer. If so, why not say that? Well my terrible experience with the Service Department here seems to be consistent with many of the reviews here. DeCozen will charge you for as many things as they can to try to fix your car, but in the end if they can't duplicate or fix your problem ...you're left on your own and the last words with them today...is well...you're not happy with our service...we're done, you should take it somewhere else. They are the poster child of all the bad things people experience when they take their vehicle somewhere and have nothing but headaches. So when they basically threw up their hands and suggested I go elsewhere...I thought Real Nice... we had you do work, charged you exorbitant prices and never fixed the issue. We can't figure it out...so bye. They don't keep you informed...don't return phone calls. The issue we are dealing with is an intermittent one...the car's been there probably 6 times or more over a span of 8-9 months. so the problem can never be found and along the way they also try and hit you with additional charges. One time my Service Rep told me the technician said your brakes are shot and was ready to quote me a price. I was surprised because the brakes weren't that old. When I asked the technician directly he said..."I didn't say that, I said there was some rust on the rotor" Slimy move by Rep Another time we mentioned after the car stalls the battery light comes on...as any car does when a stall occurs. the Rep starts questioning how old the battery was...as if the battery has any relevance to a car stalling once the car has started and you're driving it. I have all the documentation to back up everything I'm saying. Management there wants to make you think they're looking out for you but in the end it's all talk. Through the numerous times I've been there personally witnessed a number of irate customer voicing their anger in the service area. It seems that's pretty commonplace. Mr. DeCozen I apologize for using a public forum to communicate my disappointment with your establishment but I have no other choice. It seems I have lost or deleted your email reply from the last time (21/2 years ago) I tried to buy/lease from your dealership. Just to refresh your memory, you took the initiative and wrote to me apologizing for the treatment I received one evening from your staff. Against my better judgement I came back. After all your store is in a very convenient location for me and I thought time would heal all wounds. It pulls at the heart strings of my memories growing up and visiting the local downtown car dealership with my Dad. Well, I guess along with my Dad, those days are long gone. It appears that your staff still insists on selling using "High-Way" tactics. The faces have changed but the stench still remains. Mr. DeCozen, you must either condone these sales tricks or just be oblivious to what is going on under your very nose. Only you know for sure. Since this is not the first negative review on Yelp I'll bet it's the former instead of the latter. Why does it take 3 sales people to make a deal? Sounds like a set up for a joke but it's far from being funny. ALL of your Sales people are "new". The Sales Manager continuously passes by the doorway waiting for the opportune moment to swoop in and save the deal. When he falls short of making buying a vehicle "fun and easy" (sorry wrong dump), enter... the Floor manager with his phony "tissue" invoice. To summarize: 1) Don't fall for the MSRP minus the made up down payment divided by the term of the sale/lease routine. 2) Don't fall the," I'm going to reduce your down payment and monthly payments routine". 3) Don't fall the, "Look I'm not making anything" while showing you a photocopy of the vehicle's invoice and a penciled in "cost" of the vehicle that conveniently matches the attempt of sales person's (round 2) pitch/cost of the vehicle. Don't ever sign the waiver for the "Incentives" if you don't know what incentives ($$$) you are handing over to the dealership! They most likely should have been yours, the buyers. Being a Vet, a First Responder, or a recent Graduate (typically a $500 discount) is not a Manufacturer - to - Dealer incentive (more like in the thousands range). They don't like to talk about those during negotiations. Finally Mr. DeCozen, please tell your Staff to stop calling me. It's too late! I've already bought a vehicle elsewhere (yes, unfortunately I was exiled to a local highway showroom). After all it's the policy of your Desk Manager not to beg a customer to reconsider the sale once they have left the showroom floor, or at least those were the words I heard echoing throughout the "Hall of Deceit" as I exited the building. Again... STOP CALLING! I wish you continued success in whatever you do there (?!) I'm never coming back and I just love telling the story of my DeCozen CJD experience(s) to my fellow locals. Take your business elsewhere, there are other dealerships that are honest. This place's business seems to be collecting deposits. I put down a deposit on a High Altitude and asked to delay the deal for some time until I was dealing with refinancing a HELOC. They sold the car. I called in several times to check in and they were telling me that they still had the car. I ran a carfax one day and saw that they sold it. I went there, showed them the carfax and asked to return my deposit and they are refusing to return the money. Go somewhere else, don't get scammed. read more

Bad business!! Watch out Rude and shady salesmen!! Warning! Decozen Jeep in Verona offers cars lousy as their customer service. I had a run in with 2 salesmen who were unprofessional and lack customer service skills. Salesman #1 put me in a car to test drive with NO GAS IN IT! I was left out on the road stranded for over 30mins! It was horrible being left out in the middle of the road blocking traffic. I understand that mistakes can happen to the best of us, however you would think that they would make me a "happy customer " at the end of the day. The salesman was not willing to negotiate-at all nor would he do anything for the inconvenience of me being left out there on the road as a courtesy. My final straw with him was an insensitive comment he made about my finances and about what I was willing to spend. Dude, if you're reading this we are still in a PANDEMIC! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD. I had 2 family members to bury! It's one thing if u can't meet me at the number I'm willing to buy, but no need for u to be rude. I walked out! I don't have to deal with that. And if you're so good at your job then why is the car still sitting there for months. Disclosure: Check out the pic I posted of the empty gas tank. The 2nd time I test drove the same salesman put me in another car with LOW GAS about to me NO GAS. Simply did not learn from the first time. Came back few days later to speak to someone more professional and boy was I wrong. Salesman #2 was just tryna make a dollar out of me. I told him what vehicle I was interested in, to look into it and ask the mechanics to double check a problem I spotted with the car. Sleazy as ever Mr. shady boots salesman tells me he can't check the car out until I buy it. In what world is that ok. In what world does that make sense. No one in their right mind is gonna buy a car first then get it checked out 2nd. That is BAD BUSINESS. As a customer I have EVERY RIGHT to make sure I'm not gonna be stuck driving a lemon. It's tax season so they're probably all about getting people's stimulus. #1 This man could never get anything right. Couldn't get my name right, my info right, didn't even know what car I was calling about. Some expert. He's a fast talker and his brain is all over the place. #2 I am so disgusted by his pathetic attitude, literally interrogated me, arguing with me sounding like a little school girl. These men need to get off their periods. The two places I am never going is back and forth with anyone. Salesman #2 needs to drop that nasty attitude, learn some respect and probably needs to be retrained quite frankly. He told me he's the expert and I don't know anything. That he has someone half his age telling him how to do his job and because I was stuck on the road oh how they must owe me something now. He told me I'm the problem and not the other salesman. Who in their right mind talks to their customer like that? ....someone who doesn't wanna keep their job. But they will not be getting my money or my business. The only thing they will be getting from me is this bad review. Bottom line is we do not need to agree, but be respectful when addressing your customers. You never know who u may be talking to, who I may know or what connections I have so watch how u speak to people. read more

My father who is in his 80's brought his car in for an issue that caused the check engine light to come on and was draining the battery. It turned out to be a $53.00 wheel censor. They charged a ton of time to replace it. $149.00 to diagnose the problem, and they added an extra hour labor to replace a battery that he never asked for. If you're already working on the car why would you add an extra hour labor for a 5 minute job? The battery we had in the car I put in and it was only a few years old. $531.00 later the issue is supposedly fixed. Nice way to take advantage of the elderly. read more
