Beware! This place is the absolute worst establishment I have ever worked with. I purchased an $18,000 vehicle from them with an extended warranty, and after two engine replacements, and one transmission problem most of which cost me at least something I came back to trade them the car that they sold me for another significantly less valuable vehicle. When the manager insisted that I trade him the $18,000 vehicle And give him a check for $2000 for a Honda Accord they were selling for $4000 I clearly thought that was unacceptable. He then decided after we were dissatisfied to usher us out of the facility. Anyone who follows my reviews knows I am always super fair and forgiving. His actions not only were unforgivable, but one of the salesman got in my son's face and started to put his finger on my son's face as we were leaving. I have now made it my mission to ensure that no other others have the same experience that I have, especially given the number of dealerships that one can find a vehicle at. After the first vehicle purchase, I attempted to talk to the manager, and then the general manager, both of whom assured me if I brought the vehicle back, they would take care of me on a trade in. Within two weeks of purchasing, the check engine light came on. The code that came up was P0430: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2). When I brought the vehicle in, I was told by Lawrence that he would "make it right" or "get me into a new vehicle." I was so happy to have this reassurance, and felt confident the problem would be resolved. I came to your business for a reliable car, and trusted those that assisted me. This replacement was completed by your service department on 12/20/2025. I was so thrilled and grateful, that I actually wrote a hand-written note sent via snail mail thanking the team that worked with me through the process. Now, I feel like an idiot for thinking they cared about anything other than money. Since then, the check engine light came on again. The code that came up was P0340: Cylinder 4 misfire Detected. When I brought it to my mechanic, he found the wiring to be less than optimal. Nearly negligible, considering your service department had this vehicle, looked this vehicle over, and then even did work on this vehicle. The wires that were next to nothing, hanging by a thread, should have been seen. The wire caps that were found were meant for electrical wires in a home, not in a vehicle. This should have been fixed prior to selling, regardless of the "condition" it was being sold as. The engine of this car could have exploded on my drive home. My mechanic fixed the wiring that was neglected by your service department with the proper wires and parts. The check engine light was cleared. It has now re-appeared, with the same code as the first time, P0430: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2). Less than 2 months after being replaced. While working on the car, my mechanic noted that the plate for the catalytic converter did not fit properly, giving him the inkling that it was an after-market catalytic converter that does not contain the proper amount of platinum to operate properly. I understand that this car was purchased "as-is," but there is a fine line between making things work to sell them and ignoring very detrimental issues. read more

Working with Grace was amazing. She is so professional, helpful, and dedicated to ensuring your needs are met. I visited several dealerships during my market research and felt DCH gave me the best first impression. I did not feel pressured after the test drive on my first visit. I really appreciate Grace throughout this entire purchase. The best deals are when both parties walk away happy. In the end, I was very happy with my purchase. However, during my second visit I had to walk out of the dealership due to a miscommunication. Regardless, Grace and the general manager explained things to me and remained courteous before I left. I do wish her direct manager was more patient as the others were, he came off annoyed. I didn't want to come in to the dealership the second time unless we had agreed on an OTD price. Untrustworthy. I filled out a request through Kelly Blue Book for a car cash offer. Colleen reached out and confirmed a Blue Book value of $8407. I set an appointment with Colleen and brought the car in and their appraiser Max worked with me. They brought in a very low offer ($6500), and Max brought in his supervisor Ralph to negotiate. I told them I had spoken with Colleen and the car had a Blue Book value of $8407, and Ralph asked me where I got that number from, that it was not the Blue Book value, the Blue Book value was $6500. I understand if Ralph had wanted to start from the $8407 and negotiate downward, we might have been able to make a deal, but Ralph gaslit me and told me that the Blue Book value for my car was $6500, not $8407, that I was mistaken. I left and called back and Colleen confirmed she had the number I had in her system. She was not sure why Ralph said the KBB value was $6500, that maybe that was his way of negotiating, and that he would have been willing to go up to $7900. Again, I appreciate that there is room for negotiation, and if Ralph had said "we said $8407 but we're going to offer less due to X, Y, and Z", but to lie to me and gaslight me, especially after I had agreed to come in only after Colleen confirmed the KBB value, was extremely shady. I initially found a vehicle on their website and called on Friday to confirm it was available. I scheduled an appointment for Monday. To be safe, I called again on Saturday, and again on Monday morning -- each time I was told the vehicle was still available and my appointment was confirmed, even via text. When I arrived, the car was suddenly "unavailable". No apology -- just an abrupt, confusing bait-and-switch. Despite my frustration, my husband and I stayed and looked at other options. We found a 2019 Acura RDX we liked and decided to purchase it outright in cash. That's when everything changed. Our salesperson, Tony, became noticeably uncomfortable. He made an insinuation about how we obtained our money, which felt insulting and offensive. As two young Hispanic business owners, we felt immediately profiled. Instead of handling our request professionally, they kept trying to convince us to use our $20,000 as a down payment for something else -- saying that the dealership "doesn't get anything out of cash sales" and benefits more when customers finance. We were essentially told our cash wasn't worth their time. The tone and attitude made it very clear they didn't value our business unless it involved a loan. We still wanted the vehicle, so I returned the next day -- alone, with the cash in hand -- just to finalize the deal. Tony ignored my request to see the vehicle again and seemed irritated that I came back. I asked if they could offer me a 1-3 day window just to take the car to a mechanic and, if any serious issues came up, allow me to exchange it for another vehicle on their lot. This wasn't a refund request -- just basic protection on a large cash sale with no warranty. I was told no. I asked to speak to someone higher up, like the general manager, and was denied again. Then things took a shocking turn. Jay Jaber, the sales manager, walked in furious, didn't let me speak, and immediately called the police to remove me. I was calm, respectful, and didn't raise my voice -- I simply asked for a common-sense protection on a big-ticket item. I even have a recording of the interaction to prove that I was not aggressive or out of line. Jay Jaber told me the deal was off and that I needed to get out. When I asked why, he told the police I had refused to leave, which was completely false. I left in tears -- not because I didn't get the car, but because I had been degraded, disrespected, and treated like I didn't belong. What should have been an exciting, joyful moment turned into a nightmare. I've never been so embarrassed or mistreated, especially in a professional setting. I walked in ready to pay in full for a car and left feeling like I had been racially profiled, dismissed, and humiliated. If you're a young buyer, paying cash, or a person of color -- I urge you to think twice before stepping into this dealership. After years of driving my car, I thought it was time to treat myself and get something new. I had wanted to branch out and get an Acura but sadly that did not happen. I came to this dealership on a Saturday and while I understand that it was busy and they were "short staffed" nonetheless we patiently waited for our turn. We had Tony help us for a little bit by answering our questions. He didn't really show us much or even attempted to try to sell me on a car. basically just asked me what I was looking for and if I had a car to trade in. I had felt like as soon as I had told him I wanted to trade in my current car but I'm waiting for my dad's notary for the car title to be delivered which would've been on that following Monday. so I was ready to purchase a car within the week. He had told me tl ook what was out in the lots and come back and let him know. Had took my car keys to have someone come out to my car to appraise it. When we came back from looking at cars and came back, took us awhile finally found him, we told him we were ready to test drive a car and he said sure let him finish up with the person he's with. So we waited in the lounge for 40+ mins, after he came back he told us something I can't remember really but we didn't even end up testing driving any car after that long wait. Instead, he gave us his card, took my number down and told me someone will call me the following Monday to give me an estimate for my car trade in value. He told me to keep looking on the website to see what's available. No one ended up calling me or reaching out to me which I found insulting. I had felt like we were just being dismissed because he knew he couldn't make an immediate sale that same day. It was really frustrating and discouraging because you could've really sold me on an Acura. I could've been a long time customer for Acura if I had fallen in love with the RDX that I was looking for. Instead, I just went back and stuck to my Subaru because you know what? The customer service at Subarus have always been 10/10 where we are greeted with warmth right away and they were super patient with us. License plates, registration and title not received called the dealership multiple times and was transferred aimlessly to voice mail after voice mail. Emailed the general manager as directed in my on line complaint via google reviews with no response or reply. A computer generated template is used to respond to the reviews and an email address is provided. The email is possibly an alias however, I took the time to write, since this was the only option afforded me with no response. No one has an answer nor do they care to attempt to try and rectify. The inability of this dealership to perform the processing of standard auto documentation clearly and evidently depicts the type of dealership this is. I have been charged ($172) from the dealer for the plates, registration and title and DCH Montclair Acura failed to provide the product I paid for in full. There has been no resolution provided or even an offer of assistance as the complaint regarding the non-receipt of auto papers is ignored. Horrible service. I would not bring my car to get serviced there again. The BCM was damaged due to water 5/2024. The car was at the shop for over a month without any finding of where the water was coming from. I had filed a claim with insurance but DCH staff had taken apart my car prior to my approval and ignored the calls from the insurance adjuster. Insurance was unable to assist because DCH also didn't document properly. I had to pay for the part without finding out where the leak was coming from. Exactly a year later, I am experiencing the same issues and the BCM is damaged again due to water damage. I have taken my car to another Acura dealership and they were able to find the root cause. I have done everything possible to avoid writing this review, but this dealership has simply left me no choice. I had seen a vehicle for sale online that I was interested in. When I inquired with the dealership, the sales woman I initially spoke with was rude, had a bad attitude and was passive aggressive. She also lied telling me that they wouldn't sell me the car anyway because they don't ship. If I had accepted her answer, I would have never bought the car, as she was literally trying NOT to sell me the car. I have purchased over 30 cars and I have never known a dealership that wouldn't allow the car to be shipped to me if I was arranging and paying for shipping. I asked to speak with a manager who informed me that they would indeed ship the vehicle (of course). However, every step of the purchase process from that point forward was me being proactive, calling and emailing multiple times without a response or delayed response and I literally willed this transaction into happening. I can only imagine how many customers have given up when they receive such poor customer service and communication. Even my experience with the finance manager. I completed the forms and never heard from him again. No congratulations for being approved, no next steps...nothing and trying to reach him multiple times be phone, never receiving a call back or even a text. Not to mention that the salesperson originally told me I could use my own financing, only to be told by the finance manager that they wouldn't allow me to use my own financing and that I had to finance through them, because I was paying such a low price. Unbelievable. Skip forward to the present. I purchased the vehicle about a month ago and the license plates expired this past week. Again sending multiple emails and making phone calls, none of which are returned. Today alone I have sent 2 emails and called about 15 times and haven't talked to or received a call back from anyone (the receptionist actually put me on hold, hung up on me and then no one answers when I call back). Now I have a Jaguar that I can't legally drive because the temp plates are expired and no one's telling me the status of when (if) I will receive the actual plates or offering to send me another temp plate until the actual plates arrive. So, I am sitting here in the dark with no idea when/if they will be sending plates or when I'll be able to drive my car. I am in the top 6% income in the country with an almost perfect credit rating. Not that this should be a factor, as everyone deserves good service and communication. Nonetheless, I should have been their dream customer, but this has become the worst car buying experience I've ever had. I cannot suggest strongly enough for any potential buyers to stay far away from this dealership. The thing is, if they had just returned my calls/emails and let me know the status of my plates, I was willing to just move on and even though my experience has been terrible, never write this review. It's true what they say.. for someone to actually write a review, their experience had to have been amazingly good or horrific. Luckily, I had an amazing experience! I had been dreading car hunting the months leading up to the end of my lease. I have had 3 acuras before this and all were from DCH Montclair. While my experiences have been good just the process of searching and the back and forth can get taxing. This time was stood out to me. Tony was my sales rep and he was not the gross kind who pushes the higher end models/extraneous upgrades. He respected my budget, was super straight forward with me, and just made the whole transaction go as smoothly as possible. Now, Shawn really set this experience apart from my past trips here. He actually encouraged me to ask questions and took the time to explain every question I had. Trust me there were *a lot* of questions. While there were definitely people lining up behind me, he was fully invested in our discussion and he did not hurry me through the paperwork. I knew going into this it'd probably pretty dry, but the team went above and beyond to make this an enjoyable experience. They are what a car dealership should be. I live 5 minutes away from another Acura dealership, but I do NOT go to it. I make the 30 min drive to DCH Montclair and there is a reason why....Do yourself a favor and ask for Tony and Shawn next time!! I would give them 10 stars if I could. read more

I do not even know where to begin with how horrible this dealership is, if leaving less then 1 star was an option I would have selected that in a heart beat. From the moment I walked into this dealership I had nothing but horrible interactions with the staff members. I came to this dealership searching for a very specific Subaru BRZ. I had the paperwork and approved cashiers check to make the purchase. The first bs interaction was with the first finance manager who came up and told me they could not do ANYTHING to meet me at the price my bank had approved to purchase the vehicle at which was MSRP. The difference was 300$ and surely they have the wiggle room to make a deal like this work. After going back and forth I finally conceded and paid the extra money to allow the deal to go through. This is when the real problems started, First off the finance manager on duty at the time never had me endorse the cashiers check that they filled out for the purchase of the vehicle, this resulted in the dealership attempting to cash in a check that was not endorsed by me. The check bounced due to not being endorsed, however I was never contacted by the dealership to be notified that the check did not clear. 45 days go by and the dealership still had not contacted me, I had to reach out to the dealership to check on the status of my check. Due to the dealerships mistake I then had to go get a new Cashiers check from my bank to fix the dealerships mistake. However due to the wear and tear that had been put on the vehicle in the 45 days I was in possession of it my bank decided to lower the appraisal on the vehicle by 750$. When I took this information to the dealership, I expected that they would accept that they made a mistake in the paperwork and take a loss on the 750$. NOPE, they told me in the RUDEST way possible that I could either come up with the 750 out of pocket or bring the car back. WHAT A JOKE! Through this whole process I NEVER once felt like anyone at dch montclair was actually interested in helping me purchase a vehicle, infact it felt like they were trying to make the process as long and ridiculous as possible to scare me off from purchasing the vehicle and even once I had purchased a vehicle they then dropped the ball on the needed paperwork which resulted in me having to fix this issue myself. Had I not contacted the dealership regarding my check who knows how long this lackluster company would have let this issue go on. The customer service at this location is terrible I brought a car here December 2023 by May 2024 the car had a problem I go to take my car for service on 7/29 no communication no loaner just a one way Uber. I dropped my car I have to call over and over the number they text you from is a dead number. I am not happy with the vehicle or my experience. I leased an Acura Integra and it nothing more than a civic with a new name and a higher price tag. The base model which is $34,000 has basic features. It doesn't even have XM Radio. Also, I had been getting mailings about DCH purchasing the vehicle I was had previously had but when I got to the dealership they said the vehicle wasn't worth anything. It was a 2021 Acura ILX. You do the math. I'm not saying all of the sales people are less than honest but my salesperson wasn't. I'm not going to mention his name. What I will say is do your homework and don't fall victim to salesmen hunting for their prey seeking out your vulnerabilities. My credit score took a hit but that doesn't mean you take advantage. As I mentioned earlier all of the sales people there aren't scheming. My daughter purchased a vehicle with Keith and he was very honest and very up front and so was her finance person Markell. The only reason I didn't go to them both is because I purchased my last car with (A) so when he kept calling me I felt I had to stick with the same sales person. Absolutely terrible experience purchasing a car from this place. Our sales person Tony hardly spoke to us the day we bought the car. We still haven't gotten our plates yet and it's been 2 months. Tony has been MIA since I bought the car, not answering calls or texts when I ask where my plates are. Moreover, Sarah the person who is supposedly in charge of the DMV, hasn't answered any of my emails. Whenever I call the dealership Tony, Sarah and any other manager is conveniently out of the office. No one can even tell me where I'm at in the queue. I was told it would be another two weeks over a month ago. I'm so upset by the service I experienced the day I bought the car and ever since. One tire cost $250 and the rim repair (not a new rim) cost $150. I asked if they could offer any promotions or discounts and they said no. I did not have the option to bring my car to a more affordable establishment as it was towed to this location. They do a complimentary inspection, wheel alignment, and car wash included with the service. Overall they were very pleasant to communicate with, and provided good work, although pricey. read more

So we sit down with the sales rep who sat there "crunching" the numbers, keeping it out of our site, sure enough he turns it around finally and it was loaded with insanely expensive and absolutely unnecessary "addons" trying to sneak them into her payments. Luckily I went with her as this guy tried to straight up take advantage of her. At this point I told her we should just leave as now I'm pissed they'd even do shady tactics like that, but she really wanted this car. Fine they remove all that crap they tried sneaking into her financing... Lets fast forward a few weeks, her low tire pressure light comes on. Come to find out they sold us a car with 4 DIFFERENT (and absolutely garbage) NO NAME TIRES. Not only is that a safety hazard in it self BUT two of them have gashes on the sides and one has a bubble in the tires sidewall!!! This is NOT ok! Would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone! They use sneaky and blatantly inhumane sales tactics. I've purchased many cars from multiple dealerships and this one was the first I've ever been too where I had to experience something like this. If you do have the "pleasure" of purchasing a car here triple check EVERYTHING. UPDATE 1 : They're still fucking scumbags. We posted the same review on FB and they "reached out" to us to contact them to resolve this....Well multiple phone calls and voicemails over the course of a couple days it was blatantly obvious they were still full of shit. UPDATE 2 : My girlfriend was reached out to by another unfortunate customer of theirs with even worse off experience looking to take legal action. Guess its a common theme with this joke of a dealership. OH and now they removed my review on Facebook. I wonder how many other customers with piss poor experiences there had their reviews removed... BUYER BEWARE!!! I found a vehicle that they had posted online. Made an appointment with Sally and even confirmed it prior to making a two plus hour drive there. After arriving I was told that they "just sold" it to someone else by salesman Tony. Needless to say we were not happy. Then they sent Lawerence over who tried to sell me something that we didn't want. His 'customer service' was to send us miles away to another dealer to "look" at a comparable make/model. After making the 20 minute drive we arrived to find out that that car was already sold. This dealership and especially Lawerence are an embarrassment to the DCH family and I would absolutely avoid them at all costs. read more

I have gotten 2 acura from this dealer and totally love their customer service before. This time I am fed up with their service, made an appointment and was not attend to until a hour later, then they have the nerve to tell me that its late not sure if the technician would have the time to look into my issue. It made it to be my issue for being late but I was there waiting for a hour! What is the point of making an appointment then??? They are not even willing to check the noise I indicated but told me unless I pay $250 for diagnostic then they will try to loom at it. They didn't even try to see how they can help besides hog more money and didn't care if you have a problem or not!!! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM! I bought a 2021 Acura RDX from them on Sept 24, 2024. They were supposed to register it in CT where I live. They collected CT tax and we paid a CT registration fee and gave us a 30 day temporary plate. After 3 weeks I started calling every day and never got to talk to anyone always got transferred to voicemail. Finally after the temp plate expired I decided to talk to the receptionist because that's the only person who picks up. I explained the situation to her and told her we now had an expired tag. She assure me it was ok and the manager would send me a letter that we could show to police if pulled over. First Lawrence sent me the wrong person's letter, but after a few tries we finally got this generic letter with obviously no legal weight. This was over 6 weeks ago and still no registration. I emailed twice at that time as that seemed the only way to actually reach the person I needed. This time he didn't even reply. I called Acura custoimer service and they said that since the dealership is privately owned, they don't have much they can do. They did call the dealership with me on the line and as expected, they got voicemail also. Every time I call I get transfered to a voicemail that says the name isn't even Lawrence but they say he doesn't know how to change the message. I tried again last week and the receptionist saud she would walk the message directly to him, but I never got any call or email. It has now been almost 3 MONTHS and still no registration and title. I believe we were ripped off and we will never get our registration and title. BEWARE of this dealership! read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! We purchased a vehicle 9/20/23. We signed forms electronically in finance office and left without receiving paperwork, just handed a flash drive. We test drove vehicle and we purchased same evening "so that we did not have to be inconvenienced coming back". Both our salesperson, Keith Mickens, and the finance manager, Markel Milstrey, told us we were "getting a 3 year warranty"When we looked at the paperwork there was an undisclosed charge for $4220. For a warranty. When we called Zurich (the warranty company), we found out that we purchased a ONE year drivetrain only warranty for 1 year! The Zurich rep advised me that it would not be a normal circumstance for Zurich to ever charge that much for a 1 year warranty and he could only assume it was padded $$$ by the dealership. I would have never opted to pay $4229. For a 3 year warranty. Markel also proudly told us he worked his magic and got us an 11% APR and the finance info arrived from finance co in the mail and our rate was 13.88%. The dealership has refused to return our calls (multiple to the management, salesperson, etc). They also promised to provide a remote start because that was on our lists of must haves. They "ordered the part" but of course no return call. When we received the paperwork from the finance company we owe approximately $25,500. For a car that cost $21,300., with a trade of over $6,000. Yes, you read that correctly. I could go on and on with additional issues we have now had with the vehicle but I won't. I reached one person at DCH that told me I bought the car "AS IS". He heard me out and assured me that I would get a return call. Did I mention that they included an odometer statement that shows less than 60,000. Miles but checked the lemon law box for over 60,000 miles. And the total sale price varies on different pages. I have attached some documentation to substantiate my claims. I'm a middle age mom on disability for breast cancer and I can assure you that I worked in a corporate industry for 28 years with 1 company before I became ill. I have absolutely no reason to bash any business unnecessarily. I did see other negative reviews where the dealer responded with "we are sorry you feel this way or please feel free to call our manager". I saw a 1 star review from 4 days ago where the dealer says they strive for great communication. I have had to file a claim with the better business bureau. If this gets resolved, which I'm not anticipating at this point, I will update my review. I want every honest, hard working person out there to please find yourself a reputable dealership and ask for paper copies prior to signing electronically. I'm writing this because consumers deserve to know and I do not want anyone to be stupid like me and trust the this dealership cares about your safety, you ever coming back in there or your personal finances. They care about the SALE and the MONEY. An experience with this dealer may not be the same on a new vehicle purchase but I would personally avoid buying from a dealership that is out to mislead, not disclose and essentially scam the consumer. If anyone else has had similar issues, please contact the better business bureau. I promise that my review is honest. I promise the only mistake I made was trusting their words and not asking for paperwork prior to signing. I promise that when and if the better business bureau resolves this, however they do, I will update this. read more

Stay away! Drove 1 1/2 hours to look at car. The car was for my son who called 3 times on the way their as the dates on the car fax didn't make sense. After waiting an hour the salesperson said "I am just the messenger, that car was sold over a month ago". No apologies. The sales manager didn't even come out! Vehicle was just posted online 2 days before we went down there! Sounds like a possible bait and switch to me! read more
