I would give this place 0 star! They towed my car at 10:58 pm on 11/21/2020 from the Village Apartments in Santa Ana and I was there to pick it up at 12:21 am. Guess how much they charged me?! Total of $390 for one hour and twenty minutes of towing and storage! Really? What a joke!! They charged $75 for storage for one hour and twenty minutes. And $210 for towing from Santa Ana to Garden Grove which is 5 miles away. And $105 for after hours release fee which I don't understand at all!! What a steal! We have been clients, using DTS services for over 10 solid years. They are the most dependable company, we have ever used. Rich, the owner has helped us on many occasions, especially when we were re-doing our parking sticker program. Man, was that a HUGE project. They helped us get our new signage up and worked with us on our sticker program. The staff are courteous, respectful and timely, in person and over the phone. Rich is also a great resource for all the different laws and codes related to his business and helps keep us within guidelines as well. Got my car towed and my wallet was in the glove compartment and of course, I got 4 fraudulent charges on all my cards adding up to almost $500 that were in the wallet :) PLUS sunglasses got stolen and $50 out of my wallet. Also, don't even try to respond and say "my employees are honest" because clearly, they're not. How are ALL of my cards with card numbers have fraudulent charges + sunglasses from the car + $50 from my wallet going to magically ~disappear~? Might I add, only the cards that have numbers on them had fraudulent charges. My Apple credit card that does not have my credit card numbers on it, did not have any fraud. I also never keep my wallet on me, and it just so happened that the day that the car gets towed, my wallet was in the glove compartment. Let me first preface this by saying I don't know anything about the owner or secretaries about this business; my interaction, like everyone else's on here, was negative due to a very bizarre worker who probably is the source of everyone else's issues here. There is no professionalism or ethics at least on the service end. While everything on the phone seemed ok, the people working the lots seemed to not care for any courtesy, being overly hostile and aggressive. It was like the workers (who used fake names btw wtf) were like Jekyll and Hyde when their boss was on the phone vs with the "customers". I definitely would not recommend any younger or female patrons go alone. Look, you already know from the ratings what your experience may be like. My advice is to talk to your HOA or property managers to discuss switching tow operators. Believe it or not, I have had better experiences with other tow companies. I was an idiot for parking my car in the wrong place in my neighborhood and got my vehicle towed here. reading the reviews, i expected to be given a hard time but for me nothing could have been further from the truth. (for anyone who mightve had a genuinely bad experience, hope you're not offended, if you are idc) i wished i learned the guy's name who worked with me because he was very professional with me and courteous. the process was very quick i probably spent 10 minutes there, from the moment I arrived, to the moment i drove out of there with my car. not that hard to understand that if you screw and get your car towed, you pay the price. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I don't write reviews often, especially not for a tow company of all places, but the way I was treated by this company and their employees was completely out of line. My car got towed by my apartment community (an issue between me and my community) however when I went to retrieve my car from DTS' lot, their team was extremely rude, sarcastic and condescending, and they berated me about things that were none of their business. They laughed in my face sarcastically when I was talking to them, accused me of things that had nothing to do with me, and were overall just unprofessional and out of line. They also told me it was a "courtesy" for them to open the gate and allow me to get my car back. What? I tried reaching out to their management team to report the issue, to which they called me a liar after I explained my experience. Wow. Never have I experienced such an awful group of people to have to work with - just the cherry on top to having my car towed. I fully understand that these people don't have the most fun jobs, but I think they forget that they're in the business of providing customer service - whether it's contracted to a business or working directly with customers who get their cars towed. So for God's sake, stay in your lane and be professional and respectful towards others. If you're a management company that's looking for a tow company to contract with, do not look here. If you happen to get your car towed by this company, my heart goes out to you. Update: 1/28 Funny that the owner replied and is still calling me a liar for telling him that his team was harrassing me and my friends - see below. Last night my bf was parked on Guest in which we are allowed to park and got a warning parking violation. How is that even possible if we have guest parking for that reason they are guests who visit. And they only issued them to one section of apartment complex. Either issue them to the entire complex or don't at all or how about read where it says guest. I am also calling the office as I am extremely upset. And thanks issued by 7C you should actually put your name on the pink warning ticket where you wrote no visible permit, duh it's a car that's parked in guest. Again even though I recieved a warning letter. waking up and walking to the entire complex to see if they left warning pink slips to all cars parked without a permit and see if other guest parking spaces got tickets [the kind of person I am because I am about being FAIR] I am upset to see that two cars my bf and mine and others only in ONE SECTION of apt complex get these. Be Fair and Read and have your employees do their job correctly again I am calling the office because the company says they have my information on file and if they tow the car when parked in guest I am losing my mind. Update: spoke to the office and they are also confused why they only gave out warning tickets to one section of the complex and not all cars who parked in resident without a permit there were so many who didn't have a resident plack. And were confused because the ground said guest and they still give gave us a pink warning slip. I understand towing businesses need to be more on the stern side of customer service however these people are just beyond rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. When getting your car back from them be prepared to have all your paperwork and !!extra cash¡¡ in hand because they like to randomly add last minute charges without giving explanations or they won't release your car back to you. Tried to pick up my car at around 3-4am and the guy working the shift around that time on 11/4/17 was a complete jerk. He did not even acknowledge me. I don't know what his problem is whether it may be that he hates his shift or is having a bad day, but that should not stop him from providing DECENT customer service. This was so unacceptable. I literally waited 45 minutes outside to have him mess around on the phone. Honestly, this is just a towing company. Obviously, I'm not expecting anyone to treat me like a queen. My girlfriend lives in Parkwood Apartments, and another car had parked in her car port. We called DTS to tow the car at 1am, and the gentleman who answered the phone call spoke to us with a terrible attitude. Furthermore, he didn't even give us an estimated time of how long the tow truck would take so we waited in the car for an hour before we called back, and again, the attitude was still prevalent in the way the man spoke to us. By the end of it, we had to park in the street parking that was available that is a couple blocks away from her apartment. Then, we woke up at 6am to see if the car was removed but it wasn't, so she called back, and the attitude was even worse than before. We waited 5 hours for a car to be taken out, but they failed to do so because "we're backed up on security calls and you're not our priority". We never got an apology, just more terrible customer service. DTS is supposed to be a "high-level towing company" considering that they're the towing company that's used for most Irvine Company Apartments. Andrea the manager and I were able to work it out and because it was still on private property ,and I didn't know then I could have paid to have it released right there she was kind enough to go ahead and refund everything except to drop fee which I thought was fair. Its crazy to see the many many posts of the rude customer service from these people. I get it , they deal with a lot of assholes out there In their profession but at least be respectful and not be rude and talk down to someone who is trying to explain what Happened in a Nice way. So we just recently moved and the office had given us two assigned parking spots. The lady in the apartment office put space 125 on our lease but said it will really actually be space 25 (using a different number so if the business actually sees this the argument of where I was parked doesn't start again. Also the space they put on our lease doesn't exist in the complex there's another argument for ya) . So then she hands us a map of the complex parking. Circles space 25 and writes space 25 which is also right next to our other spot so we know we didn't make the mistake. So moving in we are back and forth with our cars but in the evening we go to leave and my car is gone. So I call the towing company and the guy says I was in the wrong spot. Trying to explain it was a misunderstanding the office specifically told us that space he kept cutting me off saying I was the wrong one an fit was MY mistake. Wouldn't listen to me. Ok so the front office is closed and I'm not going to pay the 390 without knowing if I'll get it back so I wait til the next morning. We go to our leasing office the next morning they realize they made the mistake and contact the towing office and they tell us go to the tow yard they will release my car no charge. Perfect! We have tons of stuff to do so we head straight there. We show up. They take my Info. Disappear for 5 min walk back out and say that'll be 280. $280?! I explained to the guy that our complex had made the mistake and said they contacted them and that I would get my car back no charge to me. He said I wasn't told that. Goes back inside. A few minutes later 2 Guys come out. We explain again. Then a lady comes out with the guys . It's another argument of who's right and who's wrong . I'm trying to explain my situation about the mix up in the office but they keep saying they have proof I was in the wrong space with a picture of my car and the space number and it didn't match my lease. I tried to explain I know they were not there but this is exactly what happened tried showing them the sheet the office gave us with the circled space 25 but they continued to say nope you're wrong I have the proof all while the one guy had a giant smirk on his face the whole time thinking it's a funny situation and he's gonna win. It really bothered me. Finally we get the leasing office and the tow Company in contact with each other. 20 min later the guy walks out says come to the window to sign paper work . Asks if I have my keys I say yes. He hands me a copy then sends me to the gate to retrieve my car. And they dropped my car so close to another car with no wheels i could barely open my drivers door more than 6 inches so I had to cram into my car. Our old complex had recently gotten new management and told residents to no longer use the old tow company and go through dts . Our neighbors had called them to tow someone out of their space. The guy wouldn't tow unless they showed their lease and that the sticker in their car window that shows their space number wasn't enough even tho the car in their space didn't have any permit sticker. They didn't have the lease available so the guy said ok have a neighbor vouch for you that this isn't one of your cars. We happened to b walking by and told the driver that isn't their car. We know their cars. He was like oh well too bad you need your lease and drove off. We told them to call the old company they were easier to deal with and nicer and they did. After that experience the time we had left there we refused to call dts and give them service. We just continued to use the old company . Rather give them the business. Anyway. Point is. If I could give a -10 stars I would. This place said they towed my car due to a firelane violation, and supposedly being parked in the cobblestone area of my circle. Everywhere I have looked and even all the other tow companies around them say that the tow company is supposed to provide you with pictures of the supposed violation. Well guess what?? They don't have pictures, the lady at the front desk was a rude thing, and then whoever her manager was on the phone told me to "F off" when I asked for something in writing saying they are refusing to give me pictures of the violation!!! So I nicely wrote them a letter asking for my money back since they insist that they know best and apparently think it is ok to just take peoples cars for nothing, or I'd take it to small claims. All this happened 9/28 and I just got a call from a lady saying that yet again they don't owe me pictures or a signed authorization. So I guess small claims it is! Oh! and the lady in front of me picking up her car got towed from her space with her permit and she is the only person and car on her lease. Last night with this company I had the worst experience I could have ever imagined! After getting my car towed, I come to the front window to talk to the attendant and greet her very respectful with "hello" she makes no eye contact with me at all completely ignoring my existence so I wait a bit and say hi again. Still maintaining a good attitude. After minutes of literally watching her through the window on her computer ignoring me, I am in disbelief by the disrespect she is giving me so I pull out my phone to record. After several mins of being ignored she open the slot to yell at me "I'm busy!!" Something she could have started with and I would have been patient! In the video I took I ask her why she was so rude when I came up very respectfully and I have her recorded insulting me calling me a b**ch!!! At this point is when I reasonably got upset so she tells me she isn't giving me my car and I can come back tomorrow and walks away. I'm fuming at the disrespect and rudeness. Thankfully a tow truck driver drove in and helped me once I explained the situation but there is NO REASON they should be treating people this way!!! Especially when they approach you respectfully and with a good attitude!! The couple who showed up after me also got the exact same ignoring. I recorded them at the window pleading to be acknowledged as because they were also completely ignored for a while. The poor lady trying to get her car was literally crying cause of how upset she was they wouldn't acknowledge her. This is the true definition of abusing power. There is no reason anyone needs to be treated like completely trash by you guys. I wasn't even shown minimum human respect. Myself and the other couple were treated like trash. You can check the cameras around 1:50 am 4/23 to prove how positive I started and how the woman at the window completely turned the situation into a hostile and disrespectful experience. Wrost place to do anyting at. bald guy was being such a baby when I was just annoyed that my car got towed even went as far as insulting my mother and threating me on my attitude. I was just not in the mood to talk and he acted like a high school girl in her feelings holly shit was it a show of character. He left all mad and annoyed.
