I had been dying to try this place for quite some time but finally went in with a group of friends and just wow -- wine, food, service were all amazing. The interior is honestly so quaint and cute; definitely recommend making reservations to make sure you get a spot. We were a larger group so we called and made a reservation in advance. Street parking in the area is not bad at all so not too much of a struggle if you swing by. We were all rather hungry so we started off with the cheese plate -- interesting cheeses though the smoked one was rather salty aka eat it with other things and not just alone like I did. We had a spread of things including meat items for my friends and lots of veggie options for me. The menu is super vegetarian/vegan friendly. We got both the meat and the mushroom khinkali (mushroom vs beef & pork dumplings), the georgian dip tour, the lamb mtsvadi (grilled meat skewers), the tevzi salmon, the adjaruli khachapuri (bread w/cheese, butter, egg yolk), the rachuli khachapuri (bean spread & smoked pork belly puff pastry), and the mushroom ojakhuri. Quite the spread but to be honest everything I was able to eat, aka all the veggie items, were delicious and I would absolutely get them again! We also had the peach sodas which were delicious and tried some red and white wines which were all great. Service was super friendly and they definitely helped us in terms of recommendations/portions which was great. All in all, prices are super fair for how great everything is and it's great to be able to access such delicious Georgian food in Vancouver! Amaaaaazing! We made reservations for this cute little place after reading reviews that you really need to. But there were a few walk-ins while we were there that were able to get tables. Perhaps, it was because it was the day before a holiday, who knows. We ordered a ton of food! We ordered both dumplings so we could try them both. The meaty one was like XLB with soup inside!! It was delicious. The sweet person taking our order showed us how to eat them. Delicious. The mushroom one had no soup but was packed full of flavor. Either choice and you can't go wrong. We got the kachapuri bread as well. That was amazing! We also ordered the pork skewer thing with potatoes...excellent. We did get the pork belly and bean pastry. While it was good, we wouldn't order that one again. That was the only non-epic thing we had. I think we'll go back just for the dumplings and kachapuri. We are craving them now! read more

CHEEZE BOAT - DUMPLINGS - SALAD - PERIOD!!! ha ha Yeah the waterfront gets all the hype these days but I prefer the hipster Couve downtown area. Nothing against the waterfront but I prefer a less pretentious laid back vibe. Definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time - made Valentine's Day reservations about two weeks ahead and they only had the heated patio left available. It's a pretty small place and the food was great so understandable that they book up fast! The patio seating was a cold, but it was only 40 out so not surprising. Great place - took a while to grow on me after a few visits but had. I'd eaten here before on a date and it was not very good but I ordered all the wrong things before, during, & after the date to be honest. I'd would recommend you give the palette to the waiter and let he or she pick for you what you eat because the food is unusual no - doubt and the wait staff are fantastic (a family run staff) and expect the owner or chef to visit your table and share a story. And keep an open mind - bring the right person with you with intellect as this simple menu is complicated in reality. My experience w/ Eastern European food has been very few, simple fresh and flavorful ingredients, and this was true here too. An elevated take on Georgian cuisine done well. We got the Khachapuri (boat bread) w/ butter and egg & cheese which was delicious, almost like an open faced calzone. The soup dumplings (Khinkhali) were good too, similar to XLB. They were a bit boring tho, just meatballs inside w/ no discernible flavor. They have skewers as well & you can choose either ground meat or chunks. We went w/ the lamb (not ground) and it was great, big fat chunks cooked to juicy perfection like a steak. Served w/ a mild eggplant dip for the lamb and some potato wedges w/ a sauce that was in between ketchup and cocktail sauce, very pleasantly tangy. The potatoes were good tho I thought it was an interesting choice of side. We also enjoyed the honey cake for dessert, tasted a bit like a s'more w/ light graham cracker flavor and chocolate. The inside is pretty small, they have some cool little wooden booths although they aren't the most comfortable. They also have some cool covered semi-private patio tables. Expectations exceeded! Aesthetically pleasing venue and very good service. Usually, you can't go wrong with the first item listed on the menu, and here it's beef and tomato stew. The rice they use - maybe Basmati - works well, overall it popped with flavor. The spiced bean and pork belly puff pastry was ample and yummy. This one of the restaurants featured in a food list in the state of Washington, and it is a Georgian restaurant which is not too easily found in the state. Located in Vancouver, it was about a 10 minute drive from Portland so it was fairly convenient to make a detour out for this restaurant. Bonus is that today was a Sunday and they were open for their 4th anniversary for lunch service! Normally the hours are fairly hard to make (Tues-Sat dinner) as we drive from Seattle, since we'd tend to try restaurants in Portland if we are driving that far already, for a weekend trip. We shared the Khinkali (beef and pork) with one extra piece add-on, large Adjaruli Khachapuri (cheese bread), Georgian dip tour, and honey cake. The khinkali is a gigantic soup dumpling with a good amount of soup that is the right temperature, and the seasoning of the beef and pork is on point. One order is 3 pieces but since there are 4 of us, we opted to get one extra piece which was $3.50. The khachapuri is super rich and flavorful, and it was very filling. You get a raw egg yolk and butter that you mix inside like a boat bread, and then you eat it after. The Georgian dip tour is slightly pricey but offers a little bit of many things - the beet and spinach dips, eggplant dip, eggplant pieces, variety of Georgian cheeses including sulguni (regular and smoked variants), puri bread, and tarragon herb. I am a fan and apparently this is a fairly common dish in Georgian cuisine, which somewhat reminds me of the various Mediterranean dips. I honestly prefer this style of dips as it is fairly lighter and vegetarian focused. The eggplant dip is fairly smoky and I still enjoyed it even though I'm not too big of a fan of eggplant. The cheeses are fairly sharp and a bit tangy. The puri is soft and warm, and the tarragon enhanced the dish overall. I also tried their anniversary special glass of wine - Kisi from Makashvili Wine Cellar that is a special type of Georgian wine made in qvevri, large earthenware vessels for fermentation usually placed underground. It paired very well with the dishes we ordered, specifically the sharp cheeses, and it had a dry finish, subtle herbal taste. The honey cake dessert placed a cherry on top for our dining experience as it had a nice honey flavor and it is not too sweet. One of my friends said he was full but then he wanted more food after eating the honey cake! It seems to be one of their most popular dishes and tend to run out quickly especially during dinner service. Service is okay as water refills could be a bit faster but the food came out at a good pace and while we made a reservation for outdoors (the only option available in the tool), the waitress accommodated us indoors which helped a bit because the air quality outside that day was not that good. read more

I want to give this place ten stars. This is a Georgian (the country! not the state!) restaurant, which you don't see too many of, and it serves the most delicious food. If you've never tried it, this is your chance. I've only ever had khachapuri before at a different place and I really wanted to try some other Georgian food. This little spot in downtown Vancouver, WA is suuuuper cute and has the best staff in the world. I walked in for a late Sunday lunch and was able to snag a seat at their bar. They have only a handful of tables inside and I think maybe two tables outside - it's a small but cozy place. The interior is beautiful - gorgeous wooden tables and lots of pretty plants. I ordered the meat (beef and pork) khinkali (Georgian dumplings), the borscht soup, and the tiflis salad. For the soup and salad you can order a smaller size, which was perfect. An order of the khinkali comes with three big dumplings. The food was really really good. The khinkali had a yummy meat filling and who doesn't love a good dumping?? The borscht soup was also really good and the salad I LOVED. It's a tomato and cucumber salad with this amazing dressed and it was so refreshing! I savored every bite of my food. I really want to visit Georgia the country now. I definitely will come back here when I am in Vancouver or Portland again. I want to try everything on the menu. My only regret was that I wasn't able to save enough room for dessert because that looked good too. The ambiance and the food was great, but it was also the service that just made my experience here even more fantastic. Landed on trying Dediko for dinner prior to seeing a concert at RV Amphitheater. Really cool location downtown- smaller restaurant with a really cool patio. This is our first time trying Georgian food. We ordered two appetizers- the cheese plate (crazy overpriced for what you receive, but delicious), and the stuffed mushrooms- really delicious!! We each ordered a Turkish coffee- a bit bitter for my taste. Our entree we shared the meat dumplings- soooo good.. still dreaming of those. We also ordered the grilled chicken meal (can't remember Georgian name)- it was bursting with flavor! Food was epic. Two desserts- the honey cake and baklava. Honey cake was good- but baklava was out of this world. Also tried the pear lemonade- very similar to pear Fanta soda that's all over Europe. Service was majorly lacking- but it was one girl, running all the tables, we felt really bad for her. Overall- amazing meal, food was memorable. read more

AMAZING My fiancé and I have passed by DEDIKo many times, and had always been curious about it. There was a time we walked in, and realized you definitely NEED reservations if you want to go here. (Plan ahead so you don't miss out on the yummies!) After our failing attempt go walk in one day, we made our reservation for 5pm when they opened one day. When we walked in, we were greeted and rated very quickly. The ambiance of the place is so calm and inviting, and the people who work there are so sweet and nice. Once we were seated, we both ordered a glass of wine and then began looking at the menu. When it was time to order, we ordered; - Stuffed mushrooms - Adjaruli - Tomato cucumber salad - Baklava The salad came out first, and it was SO tasty, it was light and super refreshing, which is always a nice start before diving into cheesy carbs! (Am I right??) Then the stuffed mushrooms came out and they were tasty little pods of goodness too. Super flavorful and cooked to perfection. I have been trying to get my fiancé to like mushrooms, and for someone who does not always like mushrooms, he loved these! (That should say something right there!) When the adjaruli came out, we were told to mix in the egg and it will get kind of fluffy and cook more, so of course we did this! And LET ME TELL YOU, we were not disappointed. I will also say that while I write this, I am craving this again! (I am honestly craving it all again) the texture was creamy and yet light at the same time. All of their bread is made from scratch if I remember correctly, so when you get this, you are getting the freshest of the fresh (and made with all the love!) Lastly, we ended with a couple pieces of baklava, which you really can never go wrong with. I always forget what is in it, but based on what i love about it, is the honey flavor and the light and flakey dough that is layered to perfection. ANYWAYS, now that we are all (yes, including you), are on our ways to make reservations here. I'll end by saying that this is a family owned establishment, and basically their whole family works here. We spoke to one of the girls (I'm terrible and forgot here name) about when they opened and about the place, and she said they opened right before Covid hit, and were luckily able to gain enough traction to keep customers ordering out through Covid times. My husband and I love this restaurant. Even with the new restaurants on the waterfront, we have declared this our favorite in Vancouver. The food is always delicious and the wine is great. These past few months have been full of stress and anxiety in our home. Something I feel most are struggling with during this time; in some way or another. I know that sounds quite personal for a Yelp review - but if you have followed me this far - you know I keep it real in these reviews'. The ambiance, decor, and aesthetic here - fires on all cylinders. The natural light cascades in from the street and it is warm and welcoming. The service ( very pretty woman with black hair ) was fantastic, kind, and warm. Now, the food. We ordered the Beef Pork Khinkali + Cheese Bread Boat + Pork Mtsvadi + Honey Cake. When my husband and I bit into the Cheese Bread Boat - we truly smiled and laughed for the first time in a long time. This is why I love food - this is why I fell in love with the Yelp journey. THIS food and this spot reminded me of a part of our lives that Covid took away. & for that - I thank everyone at Dediko for this amazing food. The flavors in these dishes were extraordinary. The best meal we have had all year. If you haven't seen Ratatouille - then this may not resonate. Food was mediocre at best. Not bad, just mediocre. Server was very personable. Food took a ridiculous amount of time to be served (45+ mins after being seated). When the food started coming, one plate at a time, ...our table of 6 people were staring at each other to see who would be lucky enough to be getting their food next. A couple of us ordered side orders of potato wedges...we were done with our meals for 20 minutes and having to ask two different servers, if the potatoes were coming before finally arriving. Lastly, the pickled pre-made salad ordered arrived just in time to finish a long and painful dining out experience. The place was not even busy. We got there at 7:00pm and left at 9:00pm. Make a reservation via their website and get yourself to Dediko. And yes, you will need a reservation, even for lunch. Why? Well, one, because their food is so delicious, and two, because they have very limited seating. How limited? They have just 6 tables inside (3 booths and 3 small tables that only seat two), and 2 tables out on the little heated patio. t's very nice inside, with a cozy and intimate vibe. The service was friendly, but minimal and unobtrusive. Some dishes are pricey, but based on the portion size and quality of the food, it was worth it. I like how their menu has the pronunciation of the dishes. I also like how some of their dishes have a small or large option, though I wish their entrees had the size option because our entree was huge. The Hubs and I couldn't decide so we ordered several things to share. We ordered: -Adjaruli (boat-shaped bread filled with cheese and topped with butter and an egg yolk), and WOW this was so darn yummy. We ordered the small one, which was plenty for the two of us to share since it was so rich and we had other food coming. -Tiflis Salad, the large size. This is such a tasty salad with a great dressing. I highly recommend having this alongside the Adjaruli cheese bread, as the lighter, crispness of the salad and acidity of the dressing was a good counter to the rich cheese bread. -Khinkhali dumplings, we had the mushroom ones. Good mushroom flavor packed with chopped mushrooms, but a bit bland and not quite like the soup dumplings other reviewers described as there was no liquid/broth in them. I'm guessing other reviewers that said these are similar to Chinese soup dumplings maybe ordered the meat-filled ones. -Mtsvadi entree, with the lamb. Delicious! This came with 5 large pieces of tender lamb and potatoes atop a tasty walnut sauce. Even if we hadn't ordered other food, I'd say this entree alone is plenty for two to share (but still get that salad to have with it). Since we'd already eaten the bread, salad ,and dumplings before the entree came we took most of the entree home. -assorted Pkhali - we ordered this to-go so we could have it for lunch the next day. This is an assortment of 2 spreads/dips, one spinach and one beet, and then 3 small eggplant rolls (thinly sliced eggplant that's been roasted, then rolled up with the walnut sauce filling). It comes with their homemade bread. These were all great and I can see us ordering this to-go each time we come back. Georgian food is arguably one of the most underrated cuisines, featuring flavors from Greece and the Mediterranean, as well as influences from Turkey and Persia. It was so good that I instantly had to google the recipe so that I can replicate it at home . Beef and Pork Khinkali -Beautifully twisted knobs of dough, khinkali are typically stuffed with meat and spices, then served boiled or steamed. It had a little bit of a broth in it and is messy to eat but tasted really great. Adjaruli Khachapuri -No visit to a Georgian restaurant would be complete without a khachapuri. The warm, gooey cheese-stuffed bread that oozes and drips with heart-stopping buttery goodness came topped with an egg and tasted as good as it looked . we were looking forward to the Honey Cake but our server informed us that they were out of it . I was kind of relieved because both of us were overfed at this point but couldn't bear to not taste one of their most popular items . Very cute, quiet space. I've never had Georgian food before so it's hard to compare it to anything, but our meal left us pretty disappointed, considering that Dediko is so highly rated. We had the assorted plate of phkali, dumplings, adjaruli, and ojakhuri. - adjaruli was tasty and fresh--highly recommend! - phkali with bread: the flatbread was cold and falling apart, and the spreads tasted the same, just a different main vegetable with the same spices. Maybe it was wrong of us to expect them to taste different. - dumplings were overly salty but bland in other aspects, and the dough to filling ratio was off. - ojakhuri: the pork belly was overly salted and the potatoes left a lot to be desired (soggy) Service was friendly and the timing of food was ok, since we were informed ahead of time that it is family style. My first visit was with a native Georgian who picked the food for us and everything was delish. Brought friends and family back for a second visit and it was amazing. The food did not disappoint and the beer and wine was delicious. Had two different dessert and they were spot on with the right amount of sweetness and so many textures and flavors. We stopped in for lunch at 12 on a Sunday (made a reservation online the night before but it seemed fairly open). We sat outside and it was so cute. We ordered the Khachapuri (Adjaruli- Boat shaped bread filled with fresh cheese topped with butter and egg) - came out so hot and buttery! Make sure to mix the egg and cheese together and dip the outer bread crust in the cheesy middle. We also ordered the Georgian dip tour (Assorted phkali , special roasted eggplant dip, variety of Georgian cheeses w/ puri bread & tarragon) - I appreciated the variety. It was our first time trying Georgian food and I must say, Dediko made me a big fan! We tried all the best dishes and loved every one!
