Dosalas is our new favorite happy hour spot! Coming up the stairs (there is an elevator too) you are welcomed into a massive space with gorgeous views of the river. We got a table on the covered patio. Adrian our server did an amazing job taking care of us. I started with the classic margarita and it was delicious! Smooth and flavorful. Next we tried the chunky guac and the Mexican street corn. The guac was really good, the onions and tomatoes brought the flavor to a great spot. The street corn was exquisite! The cheese level was spot on! We tried both the happy hour tacos and you can't go wrong with either. The shrimp tacos had a tasty tempura batter and the carne asada tacos were full of perfectly cooked little medallions. All the toppings were fresh and crisp. Everything was amazing. Dosalas is an upscale restaurant with a Latin-inspired menu. The space is designed with more flashy, luxurious decor and has a lively atmosphere. I would recommend getting a reservation for dinner, especially if you are wanting to sit on the covered and heated patio with a view of the waterfront. We were seated right at our reservation time and our server was very friendly. We came during happy hour and started with the classic margaritas. The margs were well-balanced and were a standard drink size, which is appreciated for a happy hour deal. The happy hour steak nachos are some of my favorite nachos I've ever had. The Serrano queso was life-changingly good with the heat from the Serrano chili. I also loved the Peruvian spiced chips, which had the perfect crisp and added a punch of tangy, spicy flavor. The shrimp tacos were great and I loved the fresh crema they came with. The short rip sopes were tender, juicy, and pilled high with meat and the same crema as the tacos. read more

We skipped full entrées and ordered small plates instead: empanadas, street corn, and cheese bread. The empanadas served with a cilantro crema came out first and they were incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and easily my favorite thing we ordered. Then the Mexican Street Corn arrived. My friend tried it first and was blown away. I was skeptical because it is just corn, but that corn was slamming. Perfectly grilled, buttery, with a hint of lime, fresh with a slight crunch, and served with tortilla chips for scooping. It absolutely hit. The drinks were a whole experience. I ordered Tiffany & Co which was a cocout rum, blue curacao, fresh lime, blanc de bleu cuvee mousseux with a pineapple foam and a pina cola shooter. It came out in a Tiffany-style box with beautiful presentation. It was blue, creamy, slightly sweet, almost piña colada vibes, and exactly what I wanted. My friend ordered the mimosa flight. Warning that these are not small pours. They are full glasses. Stunning presentation, but definitely share if you are not a really big drinker. They forgot the cheese bread at first, and when it finally came out, it just did not compare to the other dishes. We mentioned it, and they graciously let us return it. Instead, we ordered another round of empanadas, which was absolutely the right decision. We went around 11 and it was quiet, but by the time we left the place was packed. Great service, fun atmosphere, and memorable presentation. We will absolutely be back. I think we found a new favorite spot. read more

Was (unsuccessfully)trying to find a place to eat on the waterfront and walked in here. The very nice hostess told me they'd be able to seat my party, and we headed upstairs. Very cool place inside. Nice views, comfortable seating. Pathway between the tables is really narrow, but you gotta fit seating where you can. Service was awesome. We had a guy named Roger who took great care of us. Drinks were very good. Incredible value on the food. We shared the paella between 3 adults and one kid, and still had leftovers. They also do a couple really cool tableside dishes (tomahawk, fettuccine made in a cheese wheel, etc) that I wanna try when I come back. Really awesome place, happy we ended up here. read more

Good if you're an influencer. Not ideal if you just want to enjoy a meal. We had the flaming pasta. It was tasty but I'm not sure of the price. It was a little awkward because they really push the whole internet thing and can enjoy an experience without recording it but we got a weird vibe from the staff when we didn't want to but went Along with it anyway. I had really high hopes as they put so much into decorating. The fireplace, bar and outdoor patio are gorgeous! When you walk in at first downstairs it's confusing if we were supposed to wait for someone but another customer told us to just go upstairs because nobody was coming down to get people. But there are cute swings for your photo op. We decide to sit outside. By the "window" (there is no window it's open air) was really cold. We moved to the other side and it was really hot. I guess I felt like Goldilocks I think the long fire table may have been perfect but I didn't want to move again. The guacamole and roasted corn were huge portions. We also had the nachos. Everything was very good I'd get the guacamole probably every time. It was very good just the avocados were not ripe. My friend ordered a coffee she said it was great too. The bad... the service was HORRIBLE! And not because she was mean or rude, she was very sweet. She was just never there. As other people left we watched them frustrated as they never came to collect the bill or dirty plates. We had to waive through the glass to , get utensils & plates, refills, the bill and to pay the bill. At this point we were the last ones there so there was no excuse to be completely ignored. Saving grace that will make me try this place again, besides the guacamole was a bartender named Adrain. He had just come on shift. He sat some people near us, picked up dirty dishes that had been there about 2 hours. Stopped to check on us and we told him about our experience. He was so nice, he listened to us and warmly invited us back again. Thank you, Adrian! All of this was happening while the "manager" was sitting at a table on the other side of the glass eating and working. Loved the ambiance, decor, outside views from the patio. We walked-in, no reservations on a Sunday evening. Service was great and the staff was attentive. We sat in the patio looking at the amazing sunset. It was chilly by the windows; and decided to move closer to the gas fireplace ...that thing makes the place close by HOT! We ordered a Mango Rumba which was disappointing - felt watered down. Sabrina was gracious to make another one...but still there was something missing in the drink. I think for $19, we should have gotten a better drink. For food, we ordered the $30 Clams & Mussels which were seasoned well with a good potion. A year ago, on my wife and my anniversary , we tried coming here. We had an uncharacteristic experience. This time was so good. Staff immediately greeted us at the door. Seated us outside in a terrific table with a great view of the river. Food was delicious. Ambiance was great. We had very tasty beverages. And they accommodated our four year old wonderfully. This was our first visit to this restaurant and it was a very disappointing experience. We had to wait a long time to be acknowledged upon arrival. There doesn't seem to be a designated host. Once seated, the wait time for service was very long and just continued to disintegrated from there. Probably the worst service we have ever experienced on the waterfront. Food was underwhelming for the price and portions are small. The view is beautiful with a large bank of windows overlooking the river if you don't mind looking through dirty ones. Celebrated a friend's birthday at Dosalas, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. Ambiance and food is second to none! We loved the upscale patio area which overlooks the Columbia River. That center-piece firepit table in the middle of the patio truly adds to an extravagant experience. To top it off, Shane provided the most enjoyable tableside ribeye service! My wife and I have been here multiple times without issues, which made this visit especially disappointing. We ordered shrimp ceviche and seafood paella, and both came out at the same time--first miss. These dishes are served in a way that requires spoons to portion out (especially when sharing, which we told our server), yet none were provided. We had to ask three or four times just to get spoons. Service overall was lacking--after our initial water, we asked for a refill and our server never came back, even walking by us with water for other tables. We had to ask another server for help. Drinks were just okay for the price feels like they rely on fancy names more than quality. The paella portion was smaller than before but still full price, and they didn't provide a discard bowl for shells like they usually do. Kitchen timing felt off, and the whole experience seemed more focused on pushing tequila than delivering good food and service our server even tried to upsell shots we never agreed to. After spending $164, this felt like a waste. Nice atmosphere, but that's about it. Quality and service have clearly gone downhill. The 3.5 Yelp rating makes sense now. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent visit to Dosalas left me frustrated and disappointed enough to speak up. From the moment we arrived, the experience went downhill. The receptionist barely acknowledged us, didn't offer a greeting, and acted as though we were inconveniencing her by checking in. There was no warmth or professionalism -- just a cold, indifferent attitude that set the tone for the entire evening. It was on the pricier side for what you get so I wouldn't find myself going here regularly, but it was good. Note: if you book on the patio you CAN'T do the tableside offerings. I was happy they were able to switch me day of. The apps were probably my favorite. Small portions so if you are sharing with more than 4 people you'll need multiple orders. For birthday dessert they brought out a sundae of vanilla ice cream with syrup. I was hoping for something like cheesecake or cake to blow out but it was a nice treat. read more

I've been wanting to try this place down on the Vancouver Waterfront since they opened, but based on previous reviews, I was hesitant. I'm so glad I finally went. I made reservations through Open Table. I requested window seating in the "over 21" dining area for brunch. We came on a Sunday around 11 and were able to find metered parking, which is free on Sundays. Upon entering the building, the decor was upscale and fun. There are two swings and a neon Dosalas sign. Great for photo ops! The staircase up to the restaurant was lined with poinsettias. It was so festive and inviting! At the top of the staircase is the host area. We were greeted and seated right away. Our window booth was perfect! The view, although wintery, was beautiful. We ordered some coffee, French toast, bacon, and carnitas rancheros. The staff was super friendly, attentive, and accommodating. They all helped each other out, so we had various people taking our order, bringing food and the check. It worked nicely. We never felt like we were waiting too long for anything, and the food came out hot. The French toast was absolutely delicious, and there was a lot of it! I couldn't eat it all... my husband helped. He loved it, too! It had a nice, crispy outer layer with a soft center. The strawberries, fresh whipped cream, and maple syrup were perfect accompaniments. I also ordered a side of bacon to offset all the sugar. My husband loved his carnitas rancheros. He said it reminded him of a meal we had in Cabo. Overall, it was a wonderful first visit. We've been here 4/5 times and every time it's been great. It's definitely spendy but a nice treat. Brunch was delicious, but my favorite here is truly dinner. That's the full experience... we order the tapas but also the tomahawk is my husband's favorite. It is exceptional from the presentation to the flavors in your mouth. We don't drink, but we always order drinks virgin and they are still spectacular. This is a fun creative culinary experience. The staff is helpful and unique. I was very excited to try this place, tequila is my jam, but unfortunately I think it is greatly overrated. The prices of drinks are wildly expensive, though they are pretty stiff. I had the Coco Chanel, which was delicious ($21), surprisingly not too sweet. Didn't like the orange in the Dosalas margarita ($23). They are pretty generous but still quite a sticker shock. For food, we started with the Brazilian cheese bread (GF) and when they brought 6 pieces, my partner and I both laughed. They were dense and delicious, but for $10 I expected more than 6. We also split the paella (GF), which was a very generous serving and could have served 3-4 people for $80, however, the meat in the clams and mussels was very minimal, so that was disappointing. As someone who is celiac, I am pleased to share that I experienced no adverse reactions/symptoms of cross-contamination. The restaurant itself is very pretty, but we were seated in the bar area despite a pretty wide open restaurant, so we felt very exposed with the low backed bench seats and bar chairs that are a tight squeeze. We are tall people so we felt like we were sticking out like a sore thumb, plus we were celebrating our engagement so we were hoping for a cozier, more private booth. The music is pretty loud and while our server was nice, as were the bar staff and cooks, it felt like the overall vibe is trying too hard to be high end and it didn't feel "genuine". It was overall an underwhelming experience. I'm glad I finally tried it but for a $200 bill, it wasn't what I'd hoped to expect and I won't be back. read more

Came in for brunch and had a rezzy so we were seated right away. Ordered coffee, and it took almost 10 minutes to get to us. There were two other tables and a few servers working that day. They serve the creamer in a sort of shot glass and it spills everywhere. We ordered our food when the long awaited coffee was delivered. Again, we sat there waiting on coffee in the meantime. Food came out and was fantastic. My companion had the avocado toast and I had the carnitas. The views were beautiful and we were very happy with the taste and presentation of our meals. Well done kitchen staff. Wait staff: while y'all are beautiful(is this an actual requirement to work here?) your long, and I mean veryyy long nails are tacky and should not be allowed in food service. Long nails in my plate and in my food is just Gross. We all know what's under those claws. Put a little hustle in your service, and less on your beauty standards. The pricing of this place does not reflect the service. Disappointed to say the least with the service here. I will order take away next time and skip the beauty pageant. read more

Stopped in for a few drinks and was really pleased with the ambiance, decor and service! The bartender/server was super sweet and had great recommendations! Had the old fashioned which was served in a glass box with smoke (fun!). The Coco Chanel drink was pink, girly, sparkly and so yummy! The bartender also recommended having a slice of orange sprinkled with cinnamon to go with our shot of reposado. Such a great pairing! Will definitely be coming back to try out the food! read more
