10/10 as fictional tears of happiness run down my face! Its worth the wait to eat. Came here on a Saturday with my sister in law, her husband, and my trio. Service was kind and attentive. The food - exceptional. One suggestion - cloth napkins or more accessible disposable napkins. Cant wait to try more - so happy you're here!

We ordered way too much (after an extremely long wait we had to try it all) Classic broccoli beef: thin, perfectly sauced, and tender meat! So good Honey walnut shrimp was probably the best thing we got. It was crunchy, lightly saucey, topped with honey walnuts that added that great crunch to it. Ordered many dumplings and they were all perfect texture! I love dim sum so I've been to a few places and have had many little dumplings. These were all quite big and large portions (~10) so a meal in itself! These odd one out was the custard egg buns. They were chocolate? I've never had them differently than what a normal bao bun type bun so that was different. Not my fav. Noodles were large portions but tried the chow mein, the combo, and Dan Dan (spicy) all were delicious but pretty standard. Will be back to try more! We waited about 90 min on opening week

I saw on IG that today was Xin Ding DH's 'soft opening' so I dragged the kids to check them out. I'm always looking for good dumpling closer to home without crossing the river into Portland. The restaurant is across the street from Vancouver Mall inside the old Shari's restaurant. The interior decor has been re-done to give it a more modern vibe, less diner feel. All the booths and chairs were new. We were greeted warmly and seated right away. The servers were very accommodating and attentive. My family and I are so used to our favorite dim sum place in Portland with the rolling carts and cacophony of plates. Xin Ding is more subdued and reminds me of the smaller dim sum places in New York where there are no carts, just the menu and you better know what you want. We ordered dry-fried string beans, pork xiao long bao soup dumplings, salt&pepper fish fillet, orange chicken, wonton in chili sauce stir-fried beef with cilantro, and crystal shrimp dumplings, and steamed rice. Since it was our first time here I wanted to try more dumplings but when they brought out the plates it was obvious that I ordered more than enough for 4 people. The dry fried string beans were well seasoned and crunchy. The orange chicken was perfectly executed, the beef with cilantro was tender and had bit of kick to it. The salt&pepper fish was super fresh, not overly battered, tender, moist and not dry like some places we've tried the soup dumpling and wonton in chili sauce was everyone's favorite. Honestly the food overall was good and would recommend it. So glad for the new addition to VanWa food scene.

A great first visit to Xin Ding's newest location. The staff was friendly and attentive, keeping pace impressively well for a soft opening weekend. We arrived around 12:15 on Sunday and joined the waitlist -- we had about a 45-minute wait for a party of 3, which felt reasonable. By 1:30-1:45 the rush had died down and tables were opening up, though keep in mind they close between 2:30-4:00. The interior renovation is impressive -- you'd hardly know it was once a Shari's. Comfortable seating, lovely decor, and a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered 7 dishes: pork xiao long bao, green onion pancakes, crystal shrimp dumplings, pork and leek potstickers, honey walnut shrimp, beef chow fun, and wonton in chili sauce -- all delicious and exactly what we'd come to expect from multiple visits to the downtown Portland location. The total came to around $125 with tax, which felt fair for the quality and quantity. Excited to have this closer to home! A couple dishes were too good to wait on -- we forgot to photograph before diving in!

Went on a Monday at 11:30. The restaurant was busy, but they still were able to seat us straight away. The server was helpful and attentive, and the food came out quickly! Would highly recommend.

Came in early afternoon with family, staff noting 3PM there was an event. So were we suppose to eat…read morerapidly and then leave. The waitress took us to a table with no place setting and did not ask if we wanted tea. She never came back. Staff with the cart comes over and just rattling off names of items on her cart. My cousin inquired about an item, she did not respond and looked at her funny. I order item my cousin wanted. Staff just mumbled and put dim sum on table. It's like they just want to unload their cart. She left and another staff came by. Before she starts. I said I cannot eat without utensils, plates, napkins and what about tea? She runs to get these items. I inquired about the tea, what is it? She goes it's red tea it's the only one they serve. By the time we finished, we asked to tally the bill. On staff member says go to the front and pay bill and get containers. I went up to get containers no one in front. Everyone busy setting up for 3PM. I flagged someone. She goes take whatever you need. There were stacked containers and cartons. Family went to pay bill and waited 10 minutes for someone to come to counter. Service is poor here. Minimal the very least. No one checks to see if you want anything. Would I come back. Probably not. As for the food, yes it's dim sum but nothing to rave about. The Shu Mai do not have shrimp. The bean curd wrapped in meat and veggies tasted a little off.

I had to try Taste of China, since it has pretty good reviews. Walked in, was seated promptly, and…read morethey brought water and a menu immediately. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, with steamed rice and an Eggroll. Also Hot and Sour soup. Soup was delivered quickly... and it was good. Nice egg flowers, black fungus and tofu... flavor was adequate. Not spicy though. They soon brought out my main course, and there was a HUGE portion of General Tso's Chicken. Very crispy crust, and tender chicken. Sauce was ok.. again, not spicy. Eggroll was really large, and tasty. Rice was nicely cooked and didn't taste like it had set in a steamer for hours. Great service... good food. Whats not to like? Far better than the last place I tried.

Enjoyed our dinner at Taste of China…read more We ordered won ton soup, Mongolian beef, brown rice, and garden vegetable mix. I'm allergic to shrimp, so the server gave us extra BBQ pork slices in our won ton soup. The soup was delicious. We appreciate that the soup base wasn't salty. The won tons were cooked perfectly. The soup had vegetables as well. The Mongolian beef was tasty, and went well with the brown rice we ordered. The garden vegetables were slightly overcooked, but plentiful. I loved the light sauce because it didn't overpower the crisp-tender vegetables. We also ordered hot green tea. We appreciated that they offer free refills. The quantity served was greater than expected. Enough for a second dinner at home tomorrow. This will be our go-to place locally for Chinese food. Service was excellent. Plus, they gave my husband a military discount (he's a U.S. Air Force veteran). The restaurant was busy. Not too loud. My husband and I were still able to carry on a conversation. I highly recommend Taste of China for those looking for reasonable prices, a nice selection of Chinese dishes, wonderful service, and good food. It's across the street from Costco, on the same side of the road as Home Depot. We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately some wrap were broken so it's already dried but mostly fine The dry pot is ok. Huge amount of meat though. Way too much meat. Couldn't finish it. Can ask for various level of spicy. Typical price for a Chinese restaurant and have discounted lunch menu Also had basil chicken for lunch, lots of meat but not enough basil. More sweet pepper than basil

The fried rice's flavor was pretty muted..I prefer a little saltiness in my fried rice and it honestly had barely any salt? It tasted like plain rice with a little soy sauce and maybe oil flavor? Just not very aromantic in general.. I disliked the Mandarin Crispy Chicken the most as I had an issue with the breading. It was very thick and each bite felt more breading than chicken..The flavor of the sauce was good but with how thick the breading was, the inside of the chicken had no flavor at all once I bit in.. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items, but I don't think I'll be back to try any others at least for now. It was a Friday night so it was busy but I'll say service was good and we had a minimal wait time!
