This is my FAVORITE secondhand store! I always find something that is so my style. Lots of different sizes to choose from, I especially love the dress section. The prices are not bad compared to brand new stuff at the mall. Whenever I need a fit I try to stop by here first. The storefronts look a tad neater and less deliberately ostentatious than a Buffalo Exchange. (DeeLux tends to have less overall merchandise though.) I have found the occasional chic tee shirt or goofy snapback at DeeLux. They usually have solid offerings of iron on patches at DeeLux too. For whatever reason, a rather extensive Sanrio patch collection sits in glass display cases by the register. The Chococat outshone the others in Cuteness. Not this time HK! The organization and layout of this store would please even the fussiest interior designer. Each style of garment rests in its own quaint space. Everything in its right place at DeeLux. All sales staff at DeeLux deserve praise for that. I've experienced some success selling here. Anticipating what will trade well at any clothing store may prove challenging given the fashion world is so overloaded with fatuous pretense. The task is not impossible though. All styles of ironic/vintage crap are currently en vogue. Here is a list of the items I traded/sold/whatever: 1. A 2XL Hulkamania shirt (I did not think this would trade at all.) 2. A pair of vintage black Wrangler jeans. (Old pants are SUPERFLY.) 3. A white D.A.R.E. shirt (These are on trend for irony aficionados and copycats.) 4. A black D.A.R.E. shirt (Extra-extra rare. Ha.) 5. A pair of red and black US apparel shorts (I may have purchased the shorts for $2 at DeeLux years ago, so cool stays cool?) I stumbled into DeeLux while strolling the streets of downtown Claremont, next to the Folk Music Center. I didn't know they also have a location in Orange. This cute store is nicely decorated (cool plants hanging from their skylight, neat idea!) and it's more than a thrift store, they do sell brand new merchandise as well. My husband got me a nice (new) jewelry box in here. They also have the best Frida Kahlo socks selections in here (had to get a few for gifts), nice new jewelry - necklaces, earrings. We did get some nice earrings (made with Czech crystals) for a gift as well. They do sell used clothing, the place was crowded with a bit of a line, but the customer service was very good. I love this shop. Ignore the negative reviews, it's a gem! I have bought and sold clothing here many times. Their website has detailed instructions re: how to sell, what the cash / trade value is like, and brands / trends / seasonal styles that they're looking for. If you follow the guidelines, you should have a good experience! Every employee, sales person or buyer I've encountered, while not over-the-top-friendly, has been welcoming, helpful and kind. I've found a lot of great deals here on cool vintage pieces, styles and trends that you won't find anywhere else. If you're looking for thrift store prices this might not meet your needs, but if you're looking to score on brand-name, luxury, or cool vintage clothes for a good price this might be up your alley. They also have a great selection of gift items. Candles, mugs, cute novelty socks, etc. My favorite thing - they have THE BEST selection of greeting cards (birthday, wedding, just saying hello, etc.) sourced from local makers and independent artists. This place USED to be awesome for thrifting... but the last year it has fallen extremely downhill. The staff and snooty, and have a "better than you" attitude, with the exception of when they see you're interested in trying something on (buying the items). I use to sell here all the time, and can confidently say a large selection of their vintage band tee's and leathers came from me. But I don't even bother anymore. Rude, judgy staff that doesn't even look through all the clothes if you're not standing right there, and they will extremely lowball you. Online it says cash back is 50% of what they resale your items for. I made $20 on a nice, vintage leather jacket I saw them selling for $65... lame. Would love to see the owners step up, listen to the reviews, and hire better employees. read more

Cashiers are fine. The clothes are not vintage at all and the buyer there is not professionally experienced in retail trends. Her terminology is out dated buying target clothing and not true vintage. I came to this location close to closing & I enjoyed the selection they have. I was greeted when I walked in & they have a small but nice selection of stationary items, socks, baggu bags, and cards. I like this stores selection of clothes/shoes & I know I can find something good on clearance! I like that I always see the workers keeping the clothes nice and organized. I tried on some jackets and shirts and Melanie was able to help me out in the fitting room. I have been to the Orange location and I can say I enjoy this store more and I will be coming back! read more

It's sad to see all of the bad reviews, especially when they aren't true. I've been shopping/selling here for 2 years and have never had a bad experience. The staff are always super friendly and they always play good music. Such a fun atmosphere. Also this is a VINTAGE store, not a "thrift store" everything in Deelux is trendy and in good condition. The prices are definitely more expensive than a Goodwill but similarly priced to mall/fast fashion clothing stores. But you cannot find all of the cool pieces they sell in a forever 21. As far as selling goes, I have sold so many things here. They must be in season and in with the current trends. When you sell they give you an option of store credit which you will get more money for, or cash but it would be less than the store credit. Amazing place! I love it here! #earthgang read more

Worse service ever!! Encouraged me to bring my items in. Was a hot day. Allowed me to walk blocks with heavy items. Mens sport coats, slacks, and shoes,also some ladies items that in my opinion were not formal.. Made several trips back and forth. Was told afterwards that everything I took in was too formal?? Really? Why did they encourage me to continue if that was the case? Perhaps they should be more specific about the types of items they are accepting. I am 74 years old. The clothing is fairly priced but don't come in thinking it's a regular thrift; DeeLux is comparable to Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads, so be familiar. It's trendy newer brands, some vintage, and a little designer/streetwear. Selling is easy, but make an appointment and it'll be easier. Buyers are kinda picky, but they can't buy everything ya got - and keep in mind they're going to buy for what sells well in the area! Overall it's a nice little spot to browse around and sell/trade in your clothes. Only taking a star off bc some of the higher end stuff was a bit overpriced for its condition. read more

On this day my mom and I went to go visit my aunt & and cousin to take them out to lunch. Yelp sent me to Claremont Village. The cutest little neighborhood ever. It kind of has a Knott's Berry Farm feel if that's a thing. On the way to the restaurant we walked by this consignment store. My cousin and I were walking ahead of my mom and my aunt so we went in there and looked around. A lot of great things! I am obsessed with repurposing everything so I'm totally on board with this. I have a really strong feeling about going into the mall seeing 20 more items of whatever I want to buy . I don't like that feeling ! Like what if I go to eat in someone's wearing the same shirt I have on . No twiniez going on here!!! When you shop this way you feel like you're getting one of a kind thing and that feels exclusive. I love that! It feels special when you go into a store like this and you find some thing that you truly love. It's like a scavenger hunt . Its just a win-win feeling, like this was meant for me! I was telling my mom about it in the car on the way home . It brought up so many questions like what's the difference between a consignment store in a thrift store? A thrift store is donated stuff probably nonprofit most of the time , which contain used clothes Vintage and antiques items. A consignment store is gently used almost perfect clothing that you can sell for a very low price and they mark up . She said then what is it vintage shop? They are store with old clothes from 20 to 100 years old from certain areas that are resold . She said so they're like antique stores . I said no antique is over 100 years old things are very great value . That's why you get mad when I call myself an antique Barbie. As much as we both know you are very great value you're not over 100 years old mom! You're the most valuable precious vintage Barbie then . Now to be far before you think my mom is One of those Barbie fanatic people she's not ! At church everybody calls her the church Barbie. When she finally caught wind of it . I've got young manager's reply for the previous review. But this manager also treated me really badly in unprofessional way. She told me that she believed her employee who disrespected me as a customer while she was chatting with her colleagues and she was really emotional... I understand she is still young like a teenager. She also needs to be trained as well. I'm disappointed that the business owner didn't say anything about the review. Because it is all true. Your employees are bad!!! Are they your relatives? Is that why you only have teenager staff? If you'd like to get the same experience as I had with these teenagers, go to the store. I came in today to drop off clothes and according to their website, they will take a couple of days to go through the clothes and decide what they will/won't take. However after I left my clothes with them I walked around the store. When I came back to buy something I found, the cashier was talking to a white woman who also brought in clothes. That woman didn't have an appointment and she still looked through her clothes without looking at ours first. This isn't the first time this has happened to me and other members of my family. And it's always white people that they decide come first. This store used to have great customer service and it no longer does. Thanks goodbye. read more

The staff is unorganized when it comes to waiting in line. I dropped off clothes two days ago got a text saying its ready, and they made me stand in a line of at least 12 people and all i needed to do was pick up my money from clothes i dropped off. There was one person in the appts line. Im not trying to shop i just want my money. It makes no sense to make me wait. Disappointed. .. Update.. i waited in line for nothing. Comes to find out they didnt buy any clothes. I had three pairs of pants in great condition no rips, stains, and nothing missing. All of them are the brand pants that their type of crowd likes brown dickies, and two work wear cargo pants. (I will post picture after superbowl) Im just more upset that they couldve asked for my name and gave me back my clothes in 2 min. But i ended up waiting 25 mins. DJ was the one who looked at my clothes, she was very nice and was kind of helpful. Im just upset that i couldve been out of there in a shorter time span. read more

I've been going to this store since high school, and in all my times that i've come here, i've never had the chance to sell my clothes. Today was the first time i was finally able to do so. I was helped by two associates by the name of Nicole and MJ. They clearly explained to me the process for selling clothes as well as appraised my clothes in a speedy way. Not only were they helpful in making the process as smooth as it can be, they we're also fashion knowledgeable. I enjoyed talking to them about the brands i was selling and the current trends. Me and my boyfriend just sold some of our old clothes over the weekend and Destiny who was sorting through our items was super helpful and sweet. Also Micah who was working the fitting room area was quick to help get us a fitting room and I was able to hold some items until our buy was complete. I actually came here to look if they had any tuk creepers but instead I found a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Lita ($55) in white lace in great condition. There were 3 other pairs of Jeffrey Campbell that I saw around. I didn't bother looking at the clothes since they usually don't carry my size, but I do like looking at what shoes they get. This place has gotten GREEDY. The prices are ridiculous for 2nd hand items. Its not actually vintage or designer label, but is priced as such. Not only that, they are actual crooks with the items you sell. Today I sold a patagonia jacket, brandy Melville pants, like new dansko clogs, a brand new slip dress w tags, another dress, a brand new top w tags, and I got offered $53. $53 dollars is a slap In the face, especially considering they priced the danskos for $40 and the patagonia jacket at $48 alone, and I didnt even look at the pricing for the other items. It's so wrong. This is supposed to be a second hand shop. Either lower the prices in the shop, or offer your sellers a little bit more and stop stealing the astronomical profits, especially considering people are desperate right now and are in situations where they are willing to take the pennies you offer for their nice clothing. Additionally, the air conditioning isn't on, and it's 110 degrees today. No wonder there is always turn over with employees in the store. I wouldnt want to work there either! read more

not a great experience from a buying or selling perspective. when i came in to buy, i got an item from the 50% off rack, where the tag on the item was specifically marked as 50% off. i was as charged full price, and when i questioned it, the cashier and manager both refused to reverse the transaction. they offered me store credit for the item if i wanted to return. they wouldn't give me my money back after charging me full price for an item that was clearly tagged as 50% off and was also on the 50% off rack. both the manager and the cashier were unkind and unfriendly through the whole encounter, telling me "you should have known this item wasn't 50% off today," despite there being no posted signs or other indication of this. as a seller, i have had okay-ish experiences. not as negative as buying. however, the payout offered for the items they purchase from sellers is very much a lowball. you can get more for items at crossroads or buffalo exchange, as well as on poshmark and other resell sites. you should also not bother bringing items that are not on-trend designers such as aritzia, brandy melville, etc. the store claims to be a vintage store but seems to only want to purchase higher end fast fashion. many true vintage pieces are passed over in favor of purchasing trendy items at lowball prices. read more

Been coming here for several years and noticed the quality of service has gone up. The employees are now friendly and nice to you when you come in and sell to you. It makes a big difference in everyone's day and in general after the pandemic I like walking in here. They are also pretty clear on what clothes they are accepting and how they buy. There's often a heads up or they give you a general overview for why they didn't accept certain items and they're pretty respectful, or they are overstocked on the item at the moment. I really like the appointment system because it's very convenient for both parties and saves a lot of time. What is weird is usually for walk ins on other thrift boutiques is that they do it one on one and accept items on the spot, where in this store they have you return in two days. That's not really desirable, but I don't really question it but I can understand why it may be difficult if you live far away. read more

Very interesting store! I took my kids here and they especially enjoyed all the little trinkets they had there. They had such a great selection of older clothes. The workers are very nice and Jordan helped my girls pick out some winter outfits. Overall a wonderful store, the only downside was that their prices were a little bit expensive for a thrift store, otherwise it was a great experience. Will be back again! read more

Cannot disagree with a lot of people here! A thrift store is considered to be for low income families with affordable Prices. This place does not offer that. I get that they sell name brand items but so do other thrift stores and they do not raise their prices like this. I rather buy these items new if I'm going to be paying that much for them. I At first liked this place but the one time I come to sell clothes and I have to have an appointment? That's outrageous! I don't understand why you need an appointment when other places do a first come first serve and have a line. Why should I trust rude workers for 2 days to look at my clothes to only get 2 things!
