I had an amazing experience! We had a taste for seafood so off to yelp I went just to stumble upon this gem of a restaurant. Our server was so nice knowledgeable and pleasant she made suggestions and they were all good options! The building is blue and looks little from the outside but there are several booths and tables inside there was plenty of room for at least two or three large groups. The food was really good it was delicious, seasoned and cooked well I had shrimp pasta the sauce wasn't homemade but it was still good! My mom had a catfish po boy and my daughter had the mini seafood boil plus we had calamari and fried green tomatoes oh AND we took shrimp and fish tacos home for my dad and wife!!! So we tried a lot and it was all really good like we had to stop ourselves from going back the next day....lol all in all if you're in town stop by it's worth it!

Yall overhyped the food wayyyy too much on social media! It wasn't that good, it's right next to sharks if u ask me, the lobster roll was on garlic bread.. the fried shrimp were soggy, fried pickles looked like fries and were very Soggy. And it's overpriced for the amount of food they give u.. it's not worth it in my opinion at all

Food was good, my catfish was fried to perfection and the seasoning was delicious. I even tried fried okra and it was good and I don't care for okra. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed ourselves and the Karaoke DJ Meechie is a definite bonus. My only complaint would be the size of the cocktails, pretty small for the price.

If it was just the food and service, I would give this place 5 stars. Our server, Mia was tremendous. She was pleasant and has a great smile. She made sure to get the food out to us promptly. This was our first time there so we didn't know what to expect except that it had received some positive comments from a local Facebook site. The owners and chefs are from New Orleans and they sure know how to cook. I had the steamed lobster and corn on the cob. My daughter had the lobster roll while my son-in-law started us off with fried green tomatoes. He then ordered some gumbo and a shrimp spaghetti. Everything was delicious. And the price is very reasonable. What a pleasant surprise. The real negative is the facility itself. The building is small and not fancy at all. The main parking is around back. Additionally they were out of their grilled vegetables. Otherwise, it was a very good experience and we will be back.

We found this place in a google search and we are so happy we did! The wait time to order was a little long, BUT they were short staffed and the food made up for it. The food came out so fresh and hot. Everything we ordered was delicious, every single item! The lobster rolls were amazing, the catfish was to die for and the shrimp had such a good breading on them. We are so glad we found this place and we will be back!!!

Went on a spontaneous date with my hubby. I suggested this place to my husband due to social media and a dear friends good recommendation. Walking in, the vibes were great. Loved the music they were playing. Its a seat yourself place. The server was very attentive and nice. I ordered a Short Island and my husband ordered a beer. The short Island did not taste very good but still drank it. My husbands beer came 3/4 filled, thinking it was a fluke, he ordered another one and got the same amount. Ordered a Sagittarius & Aquarius Boil, didn't mind the 25 minute wait. We ordered a medium size Alligator Bite while waiting, which was quite good. The batter was crispy and the bites were piping hot. But $23 for the portion we got was ridiculous. The boil came out shortly after, smelling and looking amazing. There was a plethora of crab clusters, a good amount of shrimp but maybe 4 or 5 pieces of sausage and 2 pieces of corn (the menu stated there was only 2 pieces of corn, so it was expected). All of the crab was over cooked. It was dry and tasteless, the garlic parmesan butter ($6 additional) helped. The bill was $217.14 (just noticed we were charged $6.88 for credit card, which we paid cash). Gave 2 stars because the appetizer was good. I wanted to love this place so much but needless to say, we won't be back.

Let me start by saying I only gave them one star because that was the lowest one that I can give them I really wanna give them NO stars! SCAM ALERT‼ My family and I ordered a trio seafood from here and disappointed is a understatement! Let me know forget to say it was thru uber eats so returning it was out of the question! We spent $100+ and got less the $30 worth stuff! Also the manager tried to justify it! For example 3 pieces potatoes mean they take one potatoe and cut it in to three, same with the sausage! Ain't no Lbs of shrimp is there NO WHERE... just a straight scam. What a way to end our family vacation I guess

Why? Just why? There is a level of gluttony that human beings were just not prepared to face. This is one of them

I am sorry - your food always looks delish but this latest creation of a lobster and burger together just offends my moral sense of right and wrong..... There is something wrong about this burger... I don't know if it is that you have two HUGE Waygu patties on one burger.... I don't know if it is that you load it with large chunks of lobster which should better be eaten with drawn butter or some other subtle sauce.... I don't know if it is that NO HUMAN being could ever open their mouths wide enough to encompass this burger... Yes, yes I am offended morally by this creation... you have delved into the realm of the unnatural... I am not sure what to do, do I reject this abomination against all that is natural and holy or do I seek to fight it and try to consume this monstrosity? All I know is that we are taught not to pass judgment too quickly.... For the benefit of my soul I may need to wrestle with this object further and try one before I pass final judgment.

This is a good place to eat. It's more like a Cajun boil place than a seafood restaurant and that is great. They've got a full bar. There isn't a bar to sit at but they'll make whatever drink you want. I could see back in the kitchen area where the drinks are made and they are fully stocked so feel free to get your drink on. I've been to three Cajun style restaurants in this area. One is out of business, the other is located in a mall and it isn't that great. Then there's this one and it's the one local Cajun place I'll go to every time. I recommend it. It's out of the way and easy to drive by. I've passed this place a hundred times on my way home from work. The parking lot is kind of dark and most of the parking is in the back. When you're driving by at 50mph it's one of those places that gets overlooked. That is a mistake. The restaurant is clean. The service is good. The food is reasonably priced but it isn't cheap food. The crab legs and shrimp were huge. The portions are generous and high quality. The lady I spoke to said they'd been in business about three years. We were there on a Friday night three weeks before Christmas and it was empty. I'm concerned because this is a really good place to eat in Portage. Most of the restaurants are crappy chain restaurants and we need good places like this one to stay in business. We were driving home afterwards and passed by Applebee's. The parking lot was packed. Applebee's sucks. If you're in Portage and want some good food then go to Deep Blue Seafood. It's about a third of a mile west of Swanson Road on Highway 6. There's a handful of restaurants I really like in Portage. This one is on that list. It's locally owned and I hope enough people support it that it stays in business.

I stopped in today for a beef sandwich and the sweet young lady suggested the special, 2 Beef sandwiches to your liking regular/dry/wet and choice of peppers and cheese if you please...plus a order of French fries. All this for$10!! And the beef is cooked in house! This wasn't your typical bucket of precooked slop that sooo many restaurants buy frozen . Restaurants don't cook anymore, they simply heat up pre- made frozen tasteless slop. Imagine a Beef roasting in the oven..Just how it should be made and served. Stop in and give this nice couple a try! I promise you'll be happy. I also bought a few tacos but I was so filled from the beef sandwich I didn't really try the tacos. But I think I wanna try the Ribeye steak burrito on my next visit.

The steak and chicken where very good! the service, well if you needed a pop or water (came with the dinner) you had to try and find someone to get it for you (took 20 minutes, in most cases) they put wrapped hot tortillas (3 in a pack) in a cooler, which was a great idea. they made us 30 packs, How do I know? Well when I asked for more tortillas the waitress told me the cook said he already made you 30 tortillas and you have 3 packs left. Even though I pd for 35 people so we should have had at least 35 packs which still was not enough because we still had a whole tray of beef and 3/4 tray of chicken left. Needless to say the rest of the people had to make chicken bowls because NO MORE TORTILLAS. Also, I was told when using a debit/credit card there is a 3% charge. I did pay $500 cash and then put the $316 on a debit card, I was charged 7% not 3%. about 13 of the people at the party where drinking margaritas and the bartender was super nice and the margaritas where fantastic. I have a few parties there over the years (all with the exception of this one where great), but never again.

Those who travel on I-94 and I-80/94 from Illinois to Michigan and vice versa won't know about…read moreLeroy's unless they divert their travels to U.S. 20. There in the town of Porter lies Leroy's, roughly a mile east of Exit 22, a place we frequently passed by over the years but never checked out - til last nite. And though a wee bit apprehensive upon arriving, those hesitations quickly vanished upon entry. Admittedly it can get noisy in the main area (wherein lie the bar, band stage, pool tables and some seating arrangements), which you have to pass thru (a bit awkward) to get to the main dining area (quieter but not totally devoid of noise). Compounding the noise factor were a few babies who let everyone know how they felt. But it wasn't too long before they stopped crying and the band concluded. However, regardless, none of it deterred me, my mixed race son or his mom from having a memorable time. Whatever noise existed was compensated by an overall delightful atmosphere. Not quite what we anticipated but it was so cool. From the moment we sat down at the one remaining unoccupied booth (open seating) til departing, all three of us had a wonderful time. The food was just terrific. The combo plate (mine), the chicken con queso (my son's dish) and chicken en mole (his mom's) were all tasty with good portions and fairly priced (the rice and beans particularly tasty). It's also not often you can get a good selection of meals under $15 these days but here you can. The salad was quite notable since all premium greens were used, no head lettuce or romaine. Impressive. The salsa could perhaps use a little oomph but hardly bad. The complimentary chips looked homemade and were good but could have used a bit more salt. We did initially ask for our chips instead of being automatically delivered but they came fast and as soon as we finished the first batch, a second was quickly delivered to our table. We also had to request sour cream as it didn't come with the meals but was also promptly brought to the table and also at no charge. The pop and free refills, served in decorative glasses, rounded out our stay. But as much as the food was worth what we paid for, equally memorable was the attentive service from the git go. We could not have asked for better. Nicole, our waitress, was superb thru and thru, perfect. Same with Brandon, her husband, who looked like a supervisor and came to assist wherever needed (as he did with the bringing of food and drink). He also took time from his schedule to chat with us at breaks and in doing so, hit it off with us. Not something we obviously expected but we loved it. Great guy as well as his wife. Both individuals were the faces of Leroy's and they sold it oh so well. We all don't have that kind of money to eat out that often but with the fine food and unusually good service we will have to find a way to soon return to Leroy's. Despite the noise, very highly recommended and worth the drive, regardless of whether you live in Hoosierville or just passing thru. One of those hidden gems. Ignore all the old whiny reviews. Leroy's is indeed good stuff and for good reason.
