During her breast stroke her feet that were the size of canoes kicked me as she passed by. She did not apologize or acknowledge the kick until I waited for her at the end of my lap. Come on people, if you have a wide erratic breaststroke kick, switch to dolphin kick as you pass by your fellow swimmers. Each time she passed me I could feel the kick come within millimeters of my body. She left a bruise and made my swim a negative experience.

We enrolled our daughter in this swim school on and off for about two years and were ultimately…read moredisappointed with the lack of meaningful progress given the time and money invested. Despite years of lessons, she still cannot swim independently. We later learned that other swim programs are able to teach independent swimming skills in a matter of weeks at a lower costs. Other programs come with a guarantee of independent swim once completing the program. waterworks feels like just an endless cycle of classes with no real accountability to ensure your child progresses. Lessons are 20-minute sessions that are scheduled back-to-back. This leads to transition time between students cutting into already short lessons. When paying a premium per minute, that lost instruction time adds up. We also experienced a high level of instructor turnover. It was difficult for our child to build comfort and consistency with a teacher before being reassigned. While the school indicates that progress notes are shared between instructors, in reality it often felt like the first 1-2 lessons with a new instructor were spent simply getting them up to speed with our child's abilities. Of course lessons that we have to pay for. Make-up lessons are also restrictive. Even when they cancel your lesson, which happens frequently they issue a makeup lesson instead of a paid lesson or refund. Make-up lessons must be used within the same week and are subject to limited availability, which made them difficult to actually schedule. They also expire quickly if you aren't paying for and scheduling new lessons. During summer months, the pool is extremely crowded and noisy, and the kids can't even hear the instructors. While the instructors were kind, the overall structure and lack of continuity is not conducive to any actual progress. Save your time and money and look elsewhere.

It's been truly remarkable to watch her progress, and her instructor, Miss Isabella, has made every lesson fun, encouraging, and safe from day one. The lessons are short, which seems typical for this age group, but if you stay consistent, the progress happens quickly. The staff is also very open to feedback and always responsive whenever we've had questions or concerns about a lesson. Unfortunately, we have noticed that staff members, including one of our favorite instructors have left and are planning on leaving their employment at this location. I have learned that this is not because of the job itself, but because of the conduct and behavior of the owner whom I shall refer to as "B" "B" does not seem to value his staff in the way we, the customers, do. It is my understanding that he is often rude, dismissive, abrupt, and insensitive to staff. I have also learned that there is hardly a staff member at the school that has not been brought to tears by the words of 'B" I have personally observed some of his interactions with staff, and was horrified that they would be spoken to in the manner that he did. This type of business relies on their staff, specifically their teachers. Without them, there is no business. I am quite concerned that there will be a continued turnover, which will have a direct negative impact on the students at the school, including my son. I know that this is a family owned and operated business. I have great respect for the Callan family. Unfortunately "B" is risking their good reputation, and I truly hope someone in the family business can step in and change the course such that the staff be treated as they deserve. I know that many families, mine included, will follow our child's instructor if they should leave this location. This 5 star rating is only because of the employees.

By the time they were 4 yr old they were strong enough to swim without me being in the water. I've been informed of their progress every few weeks and can see that they have been following a dedicated curriculum. One of the most important aspects of their lessons is consistency with the same swim instructor each week. This has allowed them to feel even more comfortable in the water. Several friends have switched to Noonan at my urging and have been happy with the improvements they have seen in their child's swim skills.

I really enjoy…read moreMauricio's Zumba classes, but there's one ongoing issue that honestly should be addressed by the gym staff. Some members constantly save large sections of the front row for friends who don't arrive until class is about to start. Today, Friday class for example, one lady used like 8 water bottles to reserve spots for people who showed up right as class began. Meanwhile, people who actually arrived early couldn't use those spaces. It's honestly surprising to see such territorial behavior from grown women in a fitness class...embarrassing. I understand saving one spot for a friend, but this has become excessive and very territorial. The classes get packed, and some of the behavior feels less like a fitness class and more like auditions for Dancing With the Stars. We get it... everyone has their favorite spot, but don't be selfish. The class should feel welcoming and fair for everyone. I hope the gym staff will address this so all members can enjoy the classes equally. I can also see how new clients could feel discouraged from trying these classes when faced with this type of behavior.
