We've been waiting to try Deep Lagoon, and have heard so many glowing reviews for this restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We visited on Sunday night. The restaurant was busy, but not crowded. The location is lovely with a beautiful view of the bay - however, that was the only positive. Waitress was pleasant, but not super attentive. Food was mediocre at best. We tried the tri-tail, filet mignon, chilean seabass, oysters, stone crabs, and pasta. The fish dishes were bland and nearly tasteless, though fish was decent quality. Filet was overcooked and a bit dry, and served with boring butter mashed potatoes and asparagus. Oysters and stone crab were OK. The food is UN-INSPIRED, nothing special and so overpriced for what you get. Presentations are BORING, with no variation in flavor profiles. They serve a ton of dishes with bernaise sauce, come on guys, you can do better than that! We won't be back :( read more

I'd like to say upon first impressions walking into the restaurant it was quite impressive the view of the bay was stunning the staff very polite and service overall was excellent. I ordered the coconut shrimp I was quite disappointed in the meal. The shrimp was over cooked the mashed potatoes that came with the meal tasted like they were boxed The sautéed mushrooms seem like they came from the can warmed up and served in a little dish not much flavor. Couldn't carry on a conversation with the person right next to me because it was so loud from everybody talking I'm not an old person and noise doesn't bother me but you should be able to talk to somebody next to you without screaming I would come back for the view but not for the food. read more

Very disappointed! Had dinner tonight with my boyfriend and his parents for a birthday celebration. Birthday was never referenced, per my request. "Deer in head lights" all around with the servers. Reservation made, and confirmed over a week ago. And called yesterday to confirm my table request. We get there and get a table by the stairs, even after confirming a table view of the water. We said something to the manager... and after a lot of pushing, got moved to a table with a view (as requested). Slow service. Had to ask for bread AFTER our entrées were served. Another moment of confusion on the server(s) part. One server said, sorry... we are new. Think about 5 servers had to deliver our food for 4 people. Asked to have the salad split and was told that couldn't be done. My filet mignon was $50 and was tough and not worth the money. They are a new establishment, and do not have a hold of the menu yet, but for the money we spent, they are not staffed properly and/or do not know what they are doing, unfortunately. We will not be back any time soon. read more

I was anxious to try this brand new waterfront restaurant in Osprey, FL. It has a fantastic water view, which is reason enough to give it a try. However, it is just a chain restaurant in the southwest Florida region, so expect chain quality food. For the prices that they are charging I expect fresh cooked food, alas when asked our waiter if a certain ingredient could be left out of a sauce, we were told that their sauces come from bags that they cut open. read more

Had a reservation and still waited an hour. Rude staff. The food maybe good, but the way they treat there customers isn't worth it.

We went here for our anniversary and had heard good things. Unfortunately the rest of our experience was downhill. Our server looked like she had worn the shirt she was wearing for days. She took our order and we didn't see her until the check. The food was subpar at best. The oysters Rockefeller were just average with so much cheese the oyster was lost. The ahi tuna special appetizer was fair. The good pieces were good but several pieces were chewy and not even edible. The Mahi Thermador had no lobster and the sauce was not even close to what is described on the menu. Last but not least the $75 king crab legs were over cooked and cold. As you tried to get the meat out of the shell it would shred and extremely dry. Atmosphere was great but for $250 I would expect the service and food to be a little better. We will not be rushing back for any special occasions anytime soon. read more

This was my first dinning experience here tonight around dinner time. The overall vibe of this place was hectic. The servers and bus boys did not seem to have a team going, definitely fending for themselves. The manager useless hanging out in a sling. The drink I ordered tasted watered down and unsweetened I had the pineapple upside down martini- do not recommend. Then the food came out I ordered the salmon broiled saffron rice and broccoli. The flavor from the rice tasted so artificial. The salmon dry and flavorless and mind you I usually just like my salmon with lemon salt and pepper and the broccoli which was suppose to have garlic and butter was completed tasteless and undercooked. I saw one snobby waitress coming out the kitchen blowing her nose without washing her hands touching her work screen which is shared short blond hair in the front and brown toward the back of her head. My waitress asked me if she could do anything to make the food better and I politely declined. The icing on the cake was my trip to the restroom where woman where standing with soap in their hands unable to wash it off bc the faucets had non running water. I politely let the receptionist know on the way out and she rudely while smiling but also being a total snob answered me with the quickness " yes we are well aware, we are waiting for the plumber" and I replied wow ok and walked out. Total health code violation, no running water, no hand sanitizer, no apologies just rudeness and the audacity to have 0 customer service, I feel bad for the being working here beautiful place but a shit show read more

Food is pretty good, it's just so noisy that you can't enjoy the company you are with. DO NOT let them sit you in the back room

We've been here 5-6 times now and haves always left happy and full. The staff is well- managed and team up to do a good and efficient job . One funny hiccup this time - asked for hot sauce from an expeditor who brought our table our meals and she came back with a 'local' which was completely empty - and Tabasco which is usually fine . But I was interested in trying the other one . Told and showed our waiter the empty bottle and he said " I'll see what I can do " - and of course I never got any . Anyway - side Caesar salads very good with available anchovies and extra dressing on the side . Very nice hogfish fish and chips here . The fries are a bit underwhelming but I liked the coleslaw. Nice that they bring you out a bread basket w a couple different butter options . Craft draft beer could be improved ( there's One!) . A nice and varied menu - everything I've tried has been good . Always good and prompt efficient service here in a nice setting .The kinda place you take both yourself and your visiting company too. read more

We went there for my birthday dinner after hearing great recommendations. I had the worst, supposed 6 ounce, filet mignon ever which was highly overpriced at $49. I ordered medium rare and it was so overcooked that it was dry and shrunken to what looked like 2 ounces of meat. No salad offered although the asparagus and mashed sweet potatoes were the only saving grace. I will not return as the cost is not worth the atmosphere . I have had much better filets at lesser priced restaurants. Highly disappointed! read more

We went for my husband's birthday, i was excited, i had heard good things! The table was dirty, no biggie, they were busy so we cleaned it up ourselves. We ordered the hush puppies, they were really yummy! When we got our food, we soon realized that no one had hot food. No one wanted to complain at first, but finally someone did and we all agreed. I had the $28 fish and chips. It tasted like it was reheated maybe? Or possibly they were making things ahead of time and keeping it hot? It was honestly the worst fish and chips i have ever had. A manager came around and asked if everything was ok...we told her that none of our food was hot. She didnt seem surprised, and said she would tell the chef. That was last night-tonight we went to Pop's and it was delish! I'm still puzzled how a seafood restaurant can mess up fish and chips. read more

Had reservations for 6 in 2/14. These were made month to 6 weeks ahead. After 3 messages from restaurant to confirm I would be there in time, we got there before 6 and there was no table. Was told that their was one ahead of us and we would be seated when table was available. The was to be a sunset dinner on valentines with friends, as told when making reservations. Needless to say, everyone was there for the sunset also. We did not get seated until after the sunset 35 to 40 minutes late. I will never go back. read more

We had a group of 20--our food was great, our service with Alex and Kourtney was superb. I am not sure how they managed to serve all of us during the height of the dinner rush within just a few minutes, but they did. We are a group of foodies and everyone raved about their food. Mussels were large, tender, and in a very flavorful broth. Caesar salad was perfect. My captain's platter of shrimp, scallops and grouper with green beans and asparagus was all perfectly prepared. The stuffed hogfish was a hit, as were the grouper Oscar and grouper Rockefeller. Those who had the crab rangoons raved about them. I'm already planning two more group visits and can't wait! read more

What a disappointment. I was told 20-30min wait so my family waited at the bar for our table. 1 hour later we asked for an update and was told they thought we wanted a table outside. After another hour we walked out and ordered a pizza. Extremely disappointed, if we would have been given an honest wait time we could have just moved on instead of wasting one of the last nights of our vacation. read more

The appetizers are delicious try the Volcano shrimp and mussels. Outside is the best view of the water and all types of boats in the dock.

Great location, great looking restaurant but..... looks are deceiving. Hostess was a precursor to our terrible experience at this new restaurant. She seemed less than happy to seat us. The waitress was definitely not happy to see us. Both of the appetizers we ordered were cold but she never came by to check if we were happy with the food. Too many of the food runners drop food and go. We won't be back and definitely would NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

Very disappointing.. I don't usually leave reviews but this was a comedy of errors.. started with the wine list .. no Malbec by the glass, one Merlot, limited Pinot noir.. guess they expect white wine and cab drinkers.. the only Malbec was by the bottle with a twist off top. I ordered the filet which was medium rare, not medium well.. had to send back.. the asparagus was undercooked and to top it off, I ordered a baked potato with butter and sour cream.. got cheese and bacon.. had to ask for the sour cream.. then got charged for the cheese and bacon I had to scrape off.. the pepper grinder didn't work.. I should have sent the whole thing back.. once cooked right, the filet was good.. the other person in my party ordered the shrimp which was good.. the acoustics aren't the best.. overall rather disappointing.. the server took off the $2.00 and of course never apologized or said thank you. Visually beautiful space. Very new and clean looking. Great outdoor view from the deck. Fresh seafood display at entrance of restaurant looked top shelf. Initial service was nice and attentive. Appetizers came out soon, hot, and tasty. Unfortunately our seating area had a table of 8 extremely loud cackling hens whose whiney voices reverberated the entire space. We saw several tables finish their meals and walk out with fingers in their ears! We then waited close to 40 minutes for entrees. The coconut shrimp were certainly not from the market and were dry, mediocre size and probably farm raised. Two other entrees had fresh grouper but hollandaise sauce that was broken and turned each dish into a pasty glob. And even though there were plenty of tables on the other side, the service didn't offer to move us to a quieter area. Also, why a 65 inch tv in a finer dining area? Needs some fine tuning. Our party of 6 arrived were excited about our first time at this new restaurant. The view is one of the best in the area looking over the intercostal waterway. Our waiter arrived promptly and took drink orders. Service after that unfortunately was very slow. Drinks arrived about 20 minutes later after which he took our order. After about 30 minutes half of our meals arrived, but the soup appetizer didn't. They have roaming "fixers" one of whom came up and asked us how things were going. We told her not well as half of us didn't get our meals. Then she asked us what we ordered. Wouldn't our waiter know this?? Finally after another 10 minutes the rest of our food came, although our other guests had nearly finished their food. Then the soup appetizer came which we didn't know what to do with as some of us had finished our meal. Overall the food was very average and certainly over priced for what you got. For example, the shrimp scampi was spaghetti soaked in butter soup with congealed cheese on top with salad shrimp around the edge for $24. The view is great, but I couldn't help notice the food dropped on the floor. This place has potential because of its location, but it seems as if they don't know what they are doing. It seems chaotic and disorganized. We won't be going back. read more

All around disappointment. VERY overpriced for this quality of food. Thinking reviews on other site aren't real. The food was disgusting, aside from the bread and hush puppies. Veggies were beyond overcooked and soggy. They were verging on brown. Salmon was super-fishy and only half eaten. Mahi Thermidor had red sauce dumped on it and more overcooked veggies. Stone crab was very difficult to eat. My drink was served with a bug in it and our waitress was very obviously annoyed bc it had flown in during the transport to the table and didn't immediately offer to have it re-made and defended the fact that it was a "fresh" bug, like any bug served in a drink is okay. She had very little patience with us, being our first time there, and was almost condescending in her responses. Menu did not show options at all for stone crab, so she rattled it all off quickly and we quickly made our decision from there so as not to annoy her. 3 out of 4 of us did not eat half our meals. We weren't even asked how our food was and didn't return until 10 minutes after we were done. Will not return and will advise others not to go. read more
