    Greek nachos and gyro
    Michele G.

Went the other week and was really delicious. Great Greek/Mediterranean atmosphere with tons of space and quick service. Went for lunch and enjoyed a gyro and Greek nachos. Greek nachos were delicious with roasted pita chips. For dessert had baclava which was so good. The overall had a good time with great food- Defs recommend

Excellent place to pick up fresh seafood if you want to make it yourself, pick up lunch/dinner, heat something up later, and even dine in! Great selection of fresh fish, giant scallops, an array of cooked shrimp cocktail shrimp with different seasonings! Ive been here many times but I came here one day because I was experimenting with making sushi and after getting some advice from the employees I walked out with a good selection!

Fried Scallops served, from Deepwater Seafood in Avon, CT.
    Tom D.

Expensive. Sure, the seafood is fresh, but IMO, the high prices are more based on "the area" rather than freshness. Scallops were over $32 a pound. Fried Fish was $16.59 (before tax) for two small pieces. I'm not Wow'd by Deepwater Seafood like other reviewers have been. It's OK, if you have a hankering for seafood and don't want to make the hike down to the CT shoreline. There are really not any other options up here in Northern Connecticut at this time, I wish Simply Seafood in Torrington would open back up again.

It features several dining rooms including private smaller party rooms (8 to 12 diners) and large event sized rooms. We stopped here for lunch and were quite happy that we did. They have a great tap list, a decent tavern food list. Our experience began with complimentary warm mixed, spiced, nuts and mixed olives which were fantastic. I'll come back just for these. I had the New England Clam Chowder as an app and it was excellent. I had their Turkey Club sandwich for my meal, that also included a small house salad. The sandwich was served on freshly baked sour dough bread, and was very good also. The wife had the French Onion Soup, and we both liked it very much, although we both thought it was a little too sweet. I also had a couple draught beers, one of them had an ABV of 18% and was a very heavy stout served only in 5 oz glasses, which was enough. Our server at the bar, Vera, was attentive, pleasant, and friendly. We took a self-guided tour of the facility, and were impressed with the size and scope of the operation. The smaller, intimate dining rooms included a very cool horse stable themed room that I'd love to experience - definitely try to do so if you can!

Add a mousse or ricotta cake and it would be full circle. 10/10, amazing dinner!!! Sorry for my bad photo this was an after thought after I dived into my steak

I ordered the $13 polk bowl, which consisted of white rice, cucumbers, seafood salad, shrimp, cucumber, and a variety of different sauces, including a ginger sauce. This bowl was spot on delicious! This was sushi in a bowl, for less money! All the different flavors just popped. Every ingredient was fresh. I never had a poke bowl before, but boy I could have this once a week. This is a newer location in Avon. The place is spotless. The restrooms are spotless. Now let me tell you about the young man who prepared my polk bowl. Since I told him I never had one, this young man took the time to review the menu with me. After I made my choice, he explained to me through each ingredient that he was putting into the bowl. I also ordered one of those sodas that you punch the top down and a marble goes into the soda, anyway you have to see it to believe it. He showed me exactly how to open the soda, which was a lot of fun. This young man was so respectful, and I think he was excited as I was about me being in there and tasting a poke bowl for the first time. Poke Brothers is only 7 miles for me. I will make it a habit going forward to stop here and enjoy whether it be lunch or dinner. Sorry for the no photographs, my phone was at Verizon getting traded in for this new iPhone 16. I love this thing. If you are in Avon, this would be a solid choice for lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable, the restaurant is clean as a whistle, and the help, was so impressive. I love this place. This may be my New go to for eats.

"Well, listen buster You better start to move your feet…read moreTo the rockinest, rock-steady beat Of Madness" (Madness) Teriyaki Madness is a relatively new chain in Connecticut. They have locations in Hamden, Enfield, West Hartford, and Manchester before their newest store just opened in Avon, CT. The chain now has over 160 locations spread across the country in 39 states. We visited their spanking new Avon store tonight and had a very positive experience. The store interior is very bright and colorful with wall art and a big menu display board. Their menu is fairly straight-forward- you build a bowl with some customizing choices and add sides or make a combo if you want a little more than a bowl. Let me break it down for 'ya. There are nine bowl choices -chicken teriyaki, chicken breast teriyaki, spicy chicken teriyaki, orange chicken, steak teriyaki, teriyaki salmon, chicken katsu, spicy tofu teriyaki, and double protein. Next step is customization, which is just a fancy term for "what do you want your protein piled on top of?" white, brown, or fried rice, or noodles, or a veggie base. I had a spicy chicken teriyaki with brown rice and a side of veggies (broccoli, onion, cabbage, zucchini and shredded carrots. My bowl ran $14.49. It was a large portion which I'll get two meals out of. And yes, the spicy chicken did have a slow spicy burn that took a while to heat up. I do have a suggestion for management- consider getting a Sharpie and marking which "to go" bowl is which. We ordered a regular chicken teriyaki with the spicy chicken teriyaki and when we got home and unbagged our order, had no idea which one was which. That seems like such a simple thing to rectify, doesn't it? The service was great, the two gents we interacted with were helpful and funny, and a pleasure to interact with. Most importantly, the food was fresh, hot, and an OK value. Pro Tip.. don't skip grabbing one of the sweetest eating utensils I've ever seen. It's a yellow thingamabob that's a fork at one end and an attached pair of chopsticks on the other. You're Welcome.

As soon as you start to stray into other dishes, the restaurant starts to lose its appeal. A buffalo chicken wrap was drowning in sauce. My lobster roll, which I came here specifically for based on other reviews, arrived at the table and I started laughing my head off. The bun was maybe at best 2/3 the size of a hot dog bun and had probably half a chicken lobster worth of lobster... it at that. I doubt it even reached 4oz, and with a side of fries, market price was $30. I felt completely ripped off. I've gone to Abbots at the shore of the Sound, and their roll cost the same but was about double the contents and I didn't leave hungry. $30 and I was lucky that I ordered an appetizer to fill in the gap in my stomach. Indoors is dark and not really inviting, but the patio was quite nice. Initially one server was covering half a dozen tables so service was quite slow, but when a couple others showed up to take the slack, things started moving for everyone. Overall... if you want a fried seafood platter-- it's great. But anything else... look elsewhere.
